I recommend it! Let me know what you think or if you have any questions! - Спорт
Planning to buy this bag, as I have a RockBros saddle bag for a year now and been through trails and mud and still looks new when washed. Perfect video by the way, thank you so much.
I appreciate you!
How do you like the saddle bag overall? I've been thinking about it. I still use this frame bag, at least every weekend, and I've been wanting a saddlebag that isn't too big or too small. The rockbros one seems about right!
@@kris.monroeThere are many to choose from, I have the C29 model, 1.5L capacity, mounted with velcro straps under the saddle. Some may probably think it looks dorky and large, but it fits 2 700x38c regular tubes and an approx. 3x2x0.5 small tool kit (tire lever, patch kit, allens), and some other small stuff in the pockets. Super sturdy, and it's very easy to clean too. The only cons I have is due to its boxy shape. The zippers sit under my saddle and I have difficulties opening and and zipping them close specially on the corners. I tend to have to remove the velcro straps from the saddle. Other than that, pretty good so far.
I have a Rockbros frame bag as well…it’s the larger size. Has done well for 3 years now. Holds lots of stuff, is waterproof and was very inexpensive compared to the other brands out there. It’s not without it’s flaws, but until I find a bag that does more than this one does, I’m sticking with it!
Agree on all fronts! Thanks for sharing your experience! ☺️
just what i needed to buy this bag. thanks for this amazing review. i can see that this is the perfect bag for me to put my rain jacket their and other repair kit
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video :) Been thinking of buying this very same bag. Feels pretty awesome considering the price too.
Absolutely! I still have it on my commute-around bike and it’s holding up just fine!
Ordering one now in preparation of riding the Katy Trail in MO. Thanks for a through review. You sold me on it.
Hope you enjoy it! I've heard good things about the Katy Trail!
Thanks for the review! Im looking for my first frame bag and gonna consider this.
Awesome! Report back on what you go with! This particular bag has moved from bike to bike for a while now and, while it isn’t fancy, it just works and is still almost like new.
Which Framebag did you go with? Why that one?
Rockbros works and they are awesome, price and quality
Agreed!
I do have the Revelate Designs frame bag that is similar in size to your rockbros bag, and I really like it. Holds a lot of stuff. I got it from REI.
What are your thoughts on the Revelate Designs frame bag? I’ve thought long about it and had considered it before giving this rockbros one a shot and I’m still curious. ... thanks for the comments! Appreciate you.
Great review 👍. I like how you can choose the strap placement. I have the Rockbros handlebar bag (large capacity water proof) but haven't put it to the test yet. I'm going to use it for tent and sleeping supplies.
I was thinking about getting a full frame bag....
Very nice! I was thinking about the Rockbros handlebar bag but got the Revelate Harness, since I already have some good dry stuff sacks for my tent and sleeping pad. ... Frame bags are a pros/cons conversion I keep having with myself, because of water storage.
@@kris.monroe I thought about the water storage issue myself. Decided that maybe I could try just putting plastic bottles, hydration bladder, or collapsible bottles in the full frame bag? And keeping a water bottle handy in a stem sack 🤔
Same, so far I’ve been happy with just putting my bottles in the frame bag - but then, when the time comes for a trip to fill the frame bag, where should they go? ... have you had success with a bladder? I’m not opposed to that. Also I’ve been thinking about just mounting to the fork and maybe a bungee to the handlebar harness when the time comes.
@@kris.monroe those are all great ideas. I haven't tried a hydration bladder in the frame bag yet. Used to use a camelbak backpack, but I want to get away from wearing extra weight 👍
The gear you showed that you had in the bag was nearly identical to what I would have except I will have an action camera in there as well.
Awesome! I actually just got a GoPro I’ll be adding to the bag as well! Thanks for the comment 🤘
I ordered it and it has never arrived. I still hope it is on its way. I really want to try it.
thanks fro the useful review
Hopefully it will arrive soon!
👍🏾
Topeak have a small attachment for dropping down the water bottle cage. I have it on my bike and it stops the large bottle hitting the bag
That would be awesome! Thank you! I’ll look into it!
I bought one of these and was really happy with it till it rained - it is NOT waterproof. I cycled 150 miles from Brighton along the coast going east, past Dover and then up to the north Kent coast, took all my energy bars, phone etc in the Rockbros frame bag. The first 2 hours was raining moderately and both pockets leaked. I checked very carefully the zips were fully closed and dried it out, same thing happened again. I've asked Rockbros for a refund and after a long exchange of messages they've finally agreed. It's a shame because it looks really good, fitted my frame perfectly, I like the various strap positions etc etc but it's not practical if there's a chance of rain.
Richard Clowes Oh no!! That’s incredibly unfortunate and curious. I’ve done many hours in rain without issue. ... Great to know though! Thank you so much for the comment.
We have improved our zipper now. If you are interested, we provide free testing for you.
That offer would be greatly appreciated!
@@rockbrosbikeus Sure, I'll be happy to test the improved version if you want to send me one
@@nigelrobinson8201 Hard to know for sure but I think it's probably along the zip. I tested it again back home in the shower after drying it all out and carefully zipping it back up - same thing happened! It's a shame because I actually really like the bag but it's definitely not waterproof so now I only use it if I know it's going to stay dry. I think the only frame bags which are really waterproof are the Rapha ones which are MUCH more expensive but probably worth the money if you want peace of mind for your phone / power banks etc for really long rides
Good review mate - what size is your bike/top tube length? Thanks
Size 56cm - Salsa lists the "Toptube Effective Length" is 560.00mm!
What is then length of the zipper? I wanted to see if I could fit a 15 inch long tent in this bag.
Thanks for the comment. The bag itself is just a bit longer than 15 inches but I really don't think even ultralight bikepacking specific tents (take Big Agnes products as example) would fit and it would be more due to width than length. This is a pretty narrow/skinny bag and the tent would absolutely bulge, if you could get the zipper to close.
The bag looks like it's under $30 on Amazon, so if you have the time you might be able to just order it, see how it is, and return it if it doesn't work?
My best guess is that the bag won't hold a tent that's on the market right now.
If you're good at folder an ultralight tarp of some kind, that might work as a shelter option, but it's really a pretty tight/skinny bag.
Best of luck! I'd love an update on what you find!
Yeah I figured it would be too tight a fit. Would probably tear the zipper. Thanks for replying though.
is this the 4 or 3 lt version?
I apologize for my slow response! Truly I’m unsure. I got it back in Spring 2020, if that helps!
Great bag for the price. I’ve broken four of the rear Velcro loop holes riding trails so it’s not the most durable if your hard on gear.
Good to know! Do you mountain bike with it, or ride gravel/roads? ... Did you fix the rear loopholes yourself, send it to Rockbros, or just buy a new bag each time? Thanks for the comment.
what else could the innertube be?!
I don't know! Do you mean size wise? Maybe a handful of clif bars, a rain jacket, socks? Whatever you want!
Could you fit two pairs of raincoat there?
If you didn't have more than a phone, keys, and maybe food bars, along with the raincoats - I think so!
If you also have say, spare tube and tools, tire pump, or anything, then it might not have enough space.
@@kris.monroe thanks, btw if you tie something like raincoat in the frame will it work? Using velcro strap
@@historiareis327 Do you mean between this bag and the frame? You might be able to if you fold or roll the raincoats right, but I probably wouldn't recommend it because the velcro straps on the bag aren't very long.
If you are using other velcro strap, I don't see why not!
@@kris.monroe I see thank you. I will try using the velcro strap instead of the bag I hope it works. Good luck to your channel 😊
Cool video.
Is it fully waterproof? Have you tested it?
Thanks for your question! No, I wouldn't say it's fully waterproof. Definitely resistant and I've never had anything get wet, even after a handful of years. Maybe don't submerge the bag but I'm confident your stuff will stay dry during a storm on a trip!
I think they make a 4L version
Nice!
Could you fit a pair of shoes in here?
If you didn’t put much else (aside from small multi tool and maybe food bars and keys) I bet you could fit a pair if they aren’t too rigid. .. I just tried with a pair of low top Vans and they fit lengthwise! Running shoes should with a little convincing.
Kris Monroe thanks for checking kris! I ordered this yesterday and hoping my low profile shoes will as well, this gives me hope! Road biking with clips makes it harder to walk around, shoes are needed.
Would like to see it on a road bike with 2 large water bottles in their racks.
Thanks for the comment! One standard bottle fits fine but two won’t, unless the second is a short bottle. That might work! I’ll see what I can do.
