You’ll need a walking foot to stitch the stretchy slippery fabric along with your stretch needle probably. Would make life easier. If you don’t want to buy one, you could interface the back of the stretch fabric which will make it less stretchy and easier to sew - but will add to the cost. Love seeing all your scrunchies sat on the table xxx

Your so right, summer has been slow here’s to the silly season that is just around the corner

I’m kind of glad that summer has been slow because it’s been too hot. I had two back to back pop ups and ended up with sun sickness despite doing all the things to try to avoid it.

Have you tried ballpoint or stretch (75/11) needles for that particular fabric, the right needle makes a world of difference 😊 Organ is my favorite brand for difficult slippery fabrics.

That Orange sparkle fabric is insanely dense. I usually need to use a very sharp needle and change the tension settings. I hate working with that type lol!

Try changing your sewing machine needle. A stretch needle might work best also try rethreading your machine. It helps to reset the tension. Stretchy fabric also sews well using a serger.

Lots of great suggestions on sewing the knit fabrics in the comments! My go-to for slippery fabrics that my machine likes to eat is using a walking foot, sandwiching the fabric between a piece of tissue paper, and either using a starter fabric or not starting right at the edge of your fabric!

I believe you need a stretch needle. But you can always zig zag it.

Scrunchies look lovely. Have you thought of using a wash-away fabric stabiliser for your problem fabric? Might be worth experimenting on a piece of that orange fabric. Have a great week. 🙂

Try using a leader (strip of scrap fabric it likes). Then follow through with the tricky fabric.

Love your content so much!! Have you thought about using the “information” sticker to seal up your mystery bags? It would save on using the brown tape which I know is expensive. Just thinking out loud….

Thanks Angel!! I have! And definitely it would, it's a fab idea. Sadly when I tried it though as the scrunchies are sometimes chunky and the paper bags do crease and wrinkly easily, the stickers didn't sit flush and folded etc so you couldn't read each of the words properly no matter how careful and precise I tried to be when sticking them down! Maybe I'm just too heavy handed 😅 BUT, I will definitely consider looking into ways to do something similar in the future! Thanks lovely!! 💖

@@faunarose you’re most welcome. Sorry it doesn’t work though…. I have a side gig (Reed Diffusers in Australia - Grace & Me) and it’s all those little savings that can sometimes help improve our bottom line 🌸

I'm not a sewer by any means bit I seem to remember seeing videos of people using paper or something of the sorts when sewing the finicky fabrics. I think they would either put the fabric in between or something like that. Tben they would just tear the paper away. Glad you try your best not to create waste. ❤

Yesss❤ that's correct! Paper is as simple a solution for this problem as possible 🎉 I do that whenever I have stretchy material my machine doesn't like 😅

Thanks my love!! I've seen this 'hack' in some sewing videos lately so will definitely give it a try in the future! Hopefully it'll work 🤞🏼💖

    Hi
Try a small starter square when you sew so that the machine does not chew up the fabric it is an old sewers trick.
Also and this is not throwing shade but consider using your stickers to seal the bags or wrapping to cut down on the packaging materials you use
Keep up the good work i snjoy your chanel
