Good review, they all have a place and as you noted it's whichever one has the greatest fit to your activity. I've got several models but the Squirt has been my in pocket unit for years and it's still going strong.

I'm a hospital domestic for the British NHS and I've had the Leatherman Micra on my key-chain for the past three years and it's been great. Obviously, for me scissors are more important than pliers. I'm just considering changing to a slightly larger version as the small scissors can be a little awkward for cutting wide tape, etc. But, otherwise I've been super happy with it. My thoughts go to all my American counterparts in hospitals, keep safe!

Nice review. Having several Leatherman's I pair them with a certain bag or pouch. If you have a need they have a tool. I would like to see them develop a racheting bit driver for their bits.

After more than 10 years, I lost my OG wave. I've recently picked up a more pocketable sidekick, which I keep in my pocket around the yard or my backpack when I'm out, along with a Micra for my keychain. The combination of the two gives my a good rounded set of tools with little redundancy. Loving the Micra. I never thought much of keychain tools before, but I use this thing more than I thought I would.

I keep a Leatherman Supertool in my Subaru center console box. A Leatherman (don't know the model but it has a pickle fork and a corkscrew) in my work EDC bag along with a Leatherman micra. I also have a micra that sits on my computer desk next to me. Super wombat good quality tools to always have handy. And dang if those tweezers haven't pulled out a lot of splinters and straying long eye lashes poking me in the eye. Surprisingly my micra made through and back on my last trip to Honolulu. It was in a carry on bag with fly fishing gear that I used to fish the flats for bonefish. The micra is an important part of my fly fishing gear. Worth every penny!

I've carried the original orange Juice S2 for years now. There are so many good pocket tools out there but every time I think I want to look at something different or new on the market I keep coming back to that old Juice. BTW I've started carrying it in a pocket caddy and that has REVOLUTIONIZED my EDC. Everything stays vertical and in place and doesn't clank around with my Olight S2 and Victorinox nail clippers.

I've noticed a trend I tend to stick to. I have 6 Leatherman tools. 2 each of the Squirt PS4, Wave+, and Surge Gen2. I like the outside accessible tools. The ones with strictly inner tools are uncomfortable and slow. Micra, Rebar, PST, etc. Plus I like the exchangeable screwdrivers, files, saws, and wire cutters. I EDC the Surge but I wanted something smaller for when I have to dress up so I got the Squirt. Then found the Wave+ for 40% off and couldnt resist. I will probably be giving the Waves away as gifts

I have one of the Squirts that has the special pliers with built in multiple gauge wire strippers. It’s not a very good multi tool but I wanted the convenience of the wire strippers for electrical use. I have a Rebar for regular multi tool stuff but if I have a electrical task I can use it for that.

  • @jacobmanalang8162

juice s2 is an edc king for the masses.
juice c2 is great for bar workers because the corkscrew replaces the scissors and has a bottle opener.
tec style suspension pocket clip or even a lanyard are FANTASTIC additions to the juice.
the skeletool is another edc king. paired with the leatherman bit kit and bit extender and you have a lot of capability.
keychain i prefer the victorinox cadet or pioneer. alox scales are what i like.
gerber shard is really good on the keychain as is the nitecore tube. one of the little pill holder capsules is okay. not too much bulk but good light weight stuff to get you through most tasks.
leatherman wave or victorinox spirit are very nice if you have heavier usage.
if you wear a belt and depending on your usage a leatherman charge tti or mut will be great for you.

Funny thing Sootch, I've also recently been looking for EDC Leathermans and bought several including these 4 and a couple others recently. For the past week I have been carrying in my walmart wrangler Jeans (32x32) 5th pocket, aka watch pocket, easily and comfortably, a Victorinox classic SD, next to my Leatherman Squirt PS4 which is next to my Leatherman Juice S2. ..in my front right pocket (below the tools) I have a Sig p365 w/ flush mag in Superfly holster. In my right back pocket I carry a small quality pocket knife as far to my right side of the pocket as possible. In my back left pocket is the wallet. in my front left pocket is small galaxy s7 cell phone and a Streamlight stylus pro.
Mind you I work in a large factory and an constantly moving operating machines lifting totes in total comfort. I dont take anything out when I sit down. Pure comfort. Overkill? Nah. I just like multitools lol

I've been using the Squirt PS4 for 13 years. Use it constantly: screwdrivers, pliers, scissors, files, blade--in that order. Only used wire cutter/bottle opener a few times. I love it and it has always been in my pocket. Hasn't rusted, but I use it under ideal conditions. I found the Micra just too clumsy to use. Too bad the Squirt has now been discontinued.

  • @ironfae

SquirtPS4 is a great minitool. Alot better then the Dime, for example. My Skeletool CX was dissapointing (for me). Now im moving to SOG Powerpint for locking capability. For heavier tasks ive got fully equipped SwissTool with ratchet and Black&Silver Surge.

    • @joshfa5526
      @joshfa5526 Рік тому

Bought the Skeletool CX and honestly just carry it for the glassbreaker bit (paranoid about car crashes) & knife. Have used the pliers maybe twice and the knife a few times for food related tasks. Rarely use the drivers, but they were a good alternative due to the L shape handle. The Powerpint has been enticing me but I'm just too scared of their crappy support & quality, though Maxlvledc seems impressed with his... Now I'm thinking to just get a used Squirt PS4 & Leatherman's Removable Driver Kit, plus something like a Kershaw Drivetrain.

I have or have had all 4 of these. I just got my first micra as a groomsman gift. Ive always found pliers to be a more necessary tool for me, but i have to say that the scissors on the micra are far superior to any i have ever used on any multitool.

Leatherman Skeletool CX every day. I carried a Wave for 10 years, a Charge Alx for 5, now I carry a Skeletool. It's got a great blade so there's no need for a separate blade, pliers, screwdriver, and it opens beer.

My level of paranoia is fairly low. I rarely travel very far from home. In my pickup truck is a "scout rifle style" truck gun. I am very well armed as long as I can get to my truck. I am a farmer. I work at "home." I don't travel much. The cow gets milk every day etc.

As an electrician that does strictly remodels this is an absolute essential tool. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI Being able to precision cut any material with a light weight tool is priceless.I upgraded to this Dewalt 20v from a competitor's 12v. The Dewalt 20v is just as light as the competitor's 12v. I am extremely pleased with the overall performance and battery life of this tool. As far as oscillators go, they just aren't very ergonomic tools. The dewalt oscillators have an offset handle that do make them somewhat more ergonomic than the competitors' oscillators.

There must be different versions of the Style. My Style has a small blade with scissors instead of plyers.
