Illinois Stories Proenneke Museum WQEC TV PBS Quincy

It would be hard to find someone better suited to the term "rugged individualist" than Richard Pronneke. After spending years in the Alaskan wilderness, he brought back stories & his writings to the lower 48 & specifically, to his former home in Donnellson, IA.
Although Richard is gone now, his memory & teachings live on in a newly constructed museum there. Come take a tour with us & meet a one of a kind soul.

Lived over in Van Buren County learned of this man when I moved to the area in 1995 wished I'd met him still want to see his cabin in my lifetime but this is worth the trip to see folks it's beautiful that library is absolutely gorgeous and the ladies there that run it are outstanding

I would love to see detailed dimensions, plans and/or patternd showing how the door handle and locking mechanism is made! Is it available in a book or pamphlet somewhere?

The presentation was informative ... the sales force of the interviewer is a little overdone ... but understandable. Also liked the data that he did not want the hunters to come because the animals in the area he considered HIS own livestock.
