- We knew that our cross-country from California to Florida might show us more problems with the Airstream Interstate, but we were really hoping for smooth sailing. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Looks like it's back to the shop for the Airstream Interstate van when we get home, but this video goes through the details of why. 😭

I agree with the other two comments, Grech. Airstream is owned by Thor Industries, Grech is owned by Grech. Airstreams make great trailers, should stick to what they do best.
Yup, we've bailed for a hotel once. It was Memorial Day and we booked the last site at a Maryland State Park. That site was maybe suitable for a tent or a VW camper van. We fought that site for hours. Finally, we pulled out, went to the state park's resort hotel (they had one - how convenient), parked the Sub, booked a room, and went straight to the bar for martini's. It happens...
I admire your patience with the vans challenges. The company should exchange yours for a “new” fully tested van. The level of goodwill created would address the amount of negative comments regarding the van. Road Warrior Dash is looking as happy as ever. 😀
A lemon all the way. Maybe trade it in? When will you catch up to a closer actual date of filming? How are Daniel's parents doing?
Guys, I feel so bad for you and it is amazing how well you are handling what I would call an "RV crisis". We all support Airstream because we love our Airstream's but enough should be enough. You need to find a quality Lemon Law attorney and send that junk back.

I have totally bailed on the idea of van camping. Cost, poor reliability, and difficulty finding campsites. My truck and a bed tent but mostly nice hotels.
Unbelievable, truly disappointing!!! I want things to get better for wander local!! Dash is rocking life😁, he is adorable ! Hum, wonder if airstream is going to make this right?

Hope Airstream will take care of you guys. As for gas mileage, you always get better gas mileage heading east. That may be part of the reason for the increase.

When we were full time RVers our kids were grade school age and sometimes we would stay in a hotel. Our kids loved indoor pools, cable tv and the hotel breakfast

I’m so sorry you are dealing with more problems in the van. I had no idea when I saw you at Airstream-Tampa that there had been additional problems as you ventured across the United States. I, on the other hand, am thoroughly loving my new Trade Wind (BRN #1889) and I hope to see you guys at International this fall. Be safe, stay positive and hug Dash for me!
I think you should decide what your family’s comfort needs are and start with that. It’s your home for goodness sake. It needs to feel like you want to live in it. If it doesn’t work, do something else. I would feel like I was cheating if I would prefer to go to a hotel to get relief, unless you were at a place that had no accommodations whatsoever to park, or your home was in the shop.

I agree if you really want van life Grech is the ticket. Im not anti-Airstream i have a FC27. Maybe they can work out the bugs on your van but so far the track record is not so good. Wish you the best. Hope you and Dash are feeling better soon.

You should custom build a van. Limitless van in Washington state did awesome job for my daughter. I’m so jealous. I unfortunately bought a Thor Tranquility Mercedes 4x4 and have had terrible time getting things fixed. Not with Mercedes but with LaMesa service center. Currently the Charging system is not reliable and since I’m a solo traveler and travel off grid a lot I need a reliable system. Goes back again March 18th. Feel for you. Hope you get things resolved. I would get rid of that van ASAP. It is just incredible the stuff you have been through with this thing. I would have chucked it a long time ago. Airstream makes great tow behind trailers , but that van is just trash. I am glad we have seen all this with this thing. So many people have wanted one but after seeing all this, they are rethinking.

If that was my van Id be driving it right back to the factory service centre in Ohio….Id be getting them to go over entire rig…..electrical/ plumbing everything. I am sure they would do this ….. and resolve all ur issues. Imo u should of done that as soon as ur problems began for ur rig. The level of service there is top notch. If it is a true lemon they would of dealt with that as well. And if u weren’t satisfied u could of just walked over to there HQ and demanded to speak to someone in management who could solve ur issues.

Bummer about the van issues....but nothing wrong with staying at a nice hotel if the RV is not cutting the mustard.

Hoping Grech comes to Canada. Love my AS trailer but down the road I would like a van. At the RV show here last month….nothing matches the AS vans. Been disappointed in the Pleasure way and Leisure way yes they are nice but still not at level of AS. Hoping a Grech is as good in person as looks in the videos. On AS side they probably build way more vans than Grech…..so how many come off the line with major issues….percentage for each manufacturer.
I am sorry you have to go through all this with that lemon, this is getting old, just give it up and move back to the air stream. They should owe you.

So sorry to hear of continuing problems. We bought a globetrotter from Airstream of Tampa 2 years ago and love it. Airstream should buy back the van with all the problems and total lack of trust. Just wouldn’t want to take it out on a trip. Best wishes really enjoy your guys

I really do love you guys and enjoy your adventures but my thought is get rid of the van! It’s a lemon and isn’t big enough or comfortable enough for your family! Also, having Dash way in the back would bother me…

Good video 😊 just saying that van has problems not built correctly lot of electrical equipment not talking to each system Airstream not as good as it was you should have learned your lesson the first time things went bad don't understand a 300 thousand pieces of equipment that was that's no good don't exchange the van get a new one or just get rid of it you should just go from hotel to hotel In some other vehicle 🤔😆

Dump that van. OMG we’re tired of the B-word about the van. We all know it’s a lemon. Please just face it: it’s over with the van. Ya’ll were much happier in the regular Airstream.
