Jeans- in the US we have Duluth Trading company. The jeans made for women are good. Deep pockets, can take a beating, and still have enough stretch and room and move around while working.
😄Opening scene, A bunch of chickens running out of a coop to upbeat finger-snapping music. I had to stop and check to see if I was watching the right video. 😂
Another day another brilliant video from Tara and Slug - also I wear mens skating jeans from Hoddle. They're Aussie made in Victoria! They are the only pants that hold up to wear and tear because they're made to be smacked against concrete day and night. They're my perfect daily work jeans for my workshop!
Love your "B" roll opening. I know it's so much work. This city girl in America sure appreciates you, and I look forward to your posts every week. Thank you so so much!
(Long, detailed & hopefully helpful suggestions on pants to try) Here in the US Levi standard style women’s jeans…especially those sold at farming supply stores & western stores…Ive found generally have deeper back pockets(front are still shite)AND are made with thicker denim that’s thus more durable & less likely to tear. ESPECIALLY if you can find/buy their “workwear” line. I was a paramedic as well as farmer, avid horse rider & hiker/hunter through thick, heavy brush’s. While heavy denim is great for durability…it can be BRUTAL in extremely hot weather. Especially in the 90F-110F temps with 60-100% humidity levels here that causes your sweat to not evaporate except VERY slowly IF standing in direct sun. So Ive found that for hiking, hunting & especially farming the cloth pants made specifically for farming ARE SIGNIFICANTLY COOLER. But ESPECIALLY the EMS/police “tactical” style pants by brands that are really tough/durable tend to be MUCH cooler! As they’re designed to breathe/keep you cool. Despite typically being made of thinner material unless horseback riding where the friction wear & tear can be extreme…they work, wear & last as long or longer than those made specifically for farm workwear while being 4-10x cooler temp wise!! Magnum is a great brand for both EMS/police style pants often labeled as “tactical” pants, as well as making absolutely fantastic boots which hold up well in farming/riding as well. But that brand IS a bit pricey. However there ARE plenty of cheaper options often listed as “tactical pants” on Amazon & other sites…just MAKE SURE to find that brand & preferably exact same pants on a site selling them as EMS/police gear even if you found them cheaper on another site…just so you can ALWAYS CHECK THE REVIEWS by EMS/police who bought them! Because I PROMISE that similar to farmers & horsemen/women, EMS/police will 99% of the time be absolutely BRUTALLY honest in reviews about if the pants/boots in question are good quality, withstand heavy/what type of use & if they last long enough vs basic jeans to be worth their price! Which sometimes you can find such reviews on Amazon too. I literally have several pair that are 6-8yrs old that besides being a bit too faded for work as we were required to wear black pants…they’re still in good condition with only a couple pair having a couple just starting to develop holes at the top corners of a couple pockets(typically the back pockets). Some for some of the farmer/western workwear denim jeans I own. But they show no signs of ripping like standard streetwear jeans typically do the SECOND such holes start. For the most part both types which have lasted in such good condition for so long ARE the more expensive brands. Which if a brand of pants can last even 2-3yrs of frequent hard wear…they’re worth the extra money vs the cheaper options that have to be replaced AT BEST every year but often only last 2-4 months. But of course if you don’t have the money at the time to buy the higher quality, more durable but significantly more expensive brands…buying even the cheaper(but NOT cheapest!) workwear options STILL LAST LONGER than the brands/types made for regular street wear or ESPECIALLY the cheap “fashion”style type pants! Just BE SURE to get your accurate waist, hip, “straddle”(aka length from belly button to bottom of crotch) so you can be as sure as possible to buy the correct size. Especially with shipping prices from US to Australia! My general rule is if my measurements are between 2 sues to always go with the large size. Also ALWAYS be sure to check reviews to see if people report them fitting large or smaller than normal. Really, REALLY WISH women’s pants were sized like means by waist & length sized in inches/CM!! With perhaps the hip width also included for women. So that sizes across brands would be FAR MORE similar! There are some brands…especially of western & workwear brands here in the US that have started doing exactly that…which is another reason to know your measurements! - The work pants made of mostly cotton that are typically kaki/tan colored (or dyed other colors) that are the EMS/police “tactical” style or even farm/western workwear IMO tends to be SIGNIFICANTLY cooler than thick work denim pants. PLUS such pants tend to all have NOT ONLY deeper men’s style normal front/rear pockets but often have a couple to several additional decent to large pockets! - In addition to having grown up on a farm, having worked on large a farm as an adult plus still having a “hobby/rescue” farm that keeps growing😂, having been an avid western style horseback rider since age 6-7(now 42)…I was also a paramedic for over a decade. Not a city paramedic who can typically wear medical scrub thickness pants & be fine. Rather the area I live in the extreme southern US is EXTREMELY rural with a large percentage of the areas of extremely southern Mississippi, Louisiana & Alabama(as in 70 miles or less inland from the Gulf of Mexico) I worked in being National Forest land…aka gov owned/managed with no one allowed to live on. But with literally 10s of thousands of miles/kilometers of hiking, ATV, horseback riding, biking & motorized dirt bike trails as well as forestry service dirt roads that the public is free to use and over half that much creeks/rivers for people to canoe/kayak down. And of course most of it, besides areas designated as protected as habitat for at risks or endangered wildlife, is open for people to hunt on. With the majority of people living in small, extremely rural communities typically isolated by being surrounded by & cut off from expanding or combining with other communities. My home area was Mississippi & similar to travel nursing where nurses are paid significantly more to work at hospitals with nurse shortages or during peak tourist seasons, Id work typically 4 day weekends in generally extremely rural Louisiana or Alabama during the summer when FAR more people are using the trails/waterways & in the Fall during hunting season. Since I also had my nursing license I worked primarily as a flight medic where we took either small helicopters to reach+care for patients until ground transport arrives or in medium helicopters capable of carrying 1-3 patients depending on their size/weight directly to the hospital. In MANY cases helicopters were the ONLY way to get to patients…especially in the swampy areas of southern Louisiana after even just a moderate amount of rain. Even then us & our basic equipment would often have to be lowered to nearby a patient as there was no stable land for the helicopter to land & we would have to stabilize the patient, secure them to a backboard & then bring them by boat to wear either the helicopter could land or wear we could meet a ground ambulance. - All that to say…my work pants HAD to be EXTREMELY tough to help protect me from at least the worst of all the thorns & brush we often had to fight through, glass/metal/burn wood with nails during car accidents/house fires plus awkward positions we often had to get/work in to access trapped patient WITHOUT constantly ripping at the seams/tearing especially around the pockets. - Hopefully that may help you with your decision what types of jeans or other types of pants you decide to try. Oh! Many of the EMS tactical style pants also repel liquid while remaining breathable(aka allowing airflow thru the fabric)or are also offered with lightweight thermal lining…which could be useful during lambing season! Most are also EXTREMELY stain resistant if that matters to you. Hope this helps!❤
I wear women's FXD brand work pants (only buy them on sale). They dont rip, they have multiple pockets including a lateral phone pocket. Works well for me
I cannot say enough good things about your content. It brings me such joy every time you upload! On the jeans subject, I wear a lot of women's Levi jeans but I also have recently discovered mens Wrangler "Authentics Relaxed Fit Stretch Cargos". They are super comfy and have a ton of pockets!
Hi Tara - I wear Traders 308 from Lowe's. They are designed for women and have the pockets down the side for the phone so you are not sitting on it. They are nice and strong too, nice and comfy. Love the drone shots - they are looking pretty impressive.
Love the drone, makes you really appreciate how well coordinated the whole process looks like. That cinematic flavour definitely tastes good. Great content!
Scrolled up to your shorts the other day, this is my first video I'm watching. Totally digging your video all around.. filming, attitute, work itself; it's all good Tara. Keep up the great work!
I started using Natio sunscreen on your advice. It's so good and my skin has cleared up since not using normal old sunscreen on my face anymore. Natio need to sponsor you.
Hi Tara, I wear mens pants, jeans etc for the pockets. Mens jeans are the actual size they say eg 28 inch waist and also the length of leg. I get a good fit from them. ( Im 152cm) Some men are thick on the thighs and butt area and there are jeans for them. Personally the best jeans I have worn are Lee jeans(womens) and you can get them pretty well customised to fit butt, waist and leg width and length. Last time I looked they were pretty pricey. However, I still have my Lee jeans after 20yrs, faded, worn in and ❤d. I have a pair of Armani Exchange jeans that keep wearing on but I dont know if you can get them anymore. For farm work on really stinking hot days I have been wearing long linen loose fitting dresses with sleeves that are loose cover up and have deep pockets so I can carry tools sich as long plyers etc Looks pretty silly with boots on but its comfortable and practical. I wear mens cargo work pants because they hold up to wear and tear and have plenty of pockets.
I wish I could send you some of the rain we are getting here in the ACT (just down the road). Your grounds look so dry. I’ll say a little prayer to the rain gods for you, to get him to send it your way.
Nunchucknabee makes unisex pants and you can choose your own waist and inseam measurements. I personally got the cargo pants. He only does limited drops though. Not so long ago it was just him in his parents basement/bedroom. Good quality pants. Very very large pockets. Back pocket is so big I can easily fit a paperback book in it.
Tara Wednesday - Thankyou Tara. Slug is having a chat as well. I love cargo trousers, for work as a midwife. Can fit phone in leg pocket and other useful items. If you buy make sure you get the zip leg pocket. I love “Airmed” they come in short, medium and tall length.
That vision of three dogs and two cars working the mob up the fence line was awesome. 🤩Shame on you for not fully recharging the drone though.🤨 Your dedication to getting a shot of the dirty however made up a little bit for that.
I wear Duluth firehose flex pants, There are lots of pockets and the front pockets are deep enough for my phone. There is even a zippered pocket behind the back pockets.
I wear men jeans for years, and don't care what anyone has to say about it. Because all I need is just normal straight blue jeans with proper pockets that can fit my phone and no freaking butterflies decorations all over the butt. And yeah they fit just fine. The height might need fixing, but it can be done easily. There's no need for any special wider hips or anything, I have normal female hips and average height (about same as you), and it fits as long as the the hip size matches.
The drone footage made me think of how a flock of birds move when you were moving them from the paddocks. Love your content all the way from Texas! Oh, & love your Slug.
Concerning jeans: There are tons of cool materials and styles available nowadays. tactical pants, camping pants..waterproof, slightly stretchy, durable, windproof, low odor, a million LARGE pockets with zippers on them (or not)...I suggest you do some shopping around. A good pair of pants can make SUCH a huge difference. There have been some facebook ads on my feed for some camping pants that look awesome...wish I could afford to buy one of a few dif kinds and give them a trial run. I often buy pants from the thrift store and one thing ive learned is to get ones with some amount of elastic in the waist or drawstring so I know they are more likely to fit. Happy shopping 😊
Tara, I absolutely Love watching your videos. as someone from the Netherlands where the sun has been hiding behind a bunch of clouds for the bigger part of the last 2 months it's very nice to see it still excists somewhere. I also absolutely love the drone footage and would not mind a seperate video of just drone footage that i can play in the background while doing laundry. as for the pants, just get mens pants, you can always fold/hem the legs to be shorter, just make sure it fits around your hips, and wear a belt if the waist is too big.
To answer the pants question I have found that American army BDUs have been the best work pants they aren't the tightest, but one pair will last a good few years before any wear shows
About the jeans: I used to have some mens jeans. they didnt last very long because my "female physique" (aka my thick thighs) wore out the thread in my crotch and it just fell apart after a few weeks. I have lately been trying out buying some fabric and just making usable pockets into my jeans. it looks shit but no one will see it anyways. i am also looking for better solutions though
Tara love your videos. When I play your videos my husband says they put a huge smile on his face. He is originally from a small country farm and loves how you share and show your Aussie personality.❤
As a fellow woman having the locket issue: I dont like how mens pants feel, they just have to have more room in certain places where i dont need ir like it. I dont vuy jeans if i cant fit my phone in at least mostly, but i do have mine in the front pocket and in a car i just tend to put it in the cupholder Some of my summer pants and skirts are to flowy for pants so then i just wear a backpack everywhere and chuck it in the bottleholder or inside (for pickpocket reasons in public transport) i have more stuff to carry around anyways
Awesome to watch the drone footage. Good to see you sharing the good the bad and info for those interested. My daughter and I raised a few orphans last year and they (lambs) can be so funny. Well, this is going to be interesting to see, I'll don my Sheep Onesie and sip my cuppa as I watch this unfold, wishing Tara luck belatedly all the way through!
You watching Scroat, watching you, watching Scroat, watching you. He's thinking, "I'm the dirty boy, eh? Well, who's watching who here?!"
I'm finished 😂. Between the moistening intermission, the look on your face when Liam lifted the trailer up and then the sexy music... You do of course know that the trolls are now going to say that your jeans tore because you are too fat. What a laugh I had today. Slug is such a good dog, bless her.
I love watching Typo work! Shes a good girl.
Not saying you should, but i do enjoy just calling my cows out of each gate and having them follow me to their paddock. It definitely makes me proud that they trust me that much 😅
Yeh, I just open the gate and point, and the cattle obligingly go where I ask. Of course they were well trained by my Sunny girl (red cattle dog) before she went to doggy heaven 😢
@cassieoz1702 RIP Sunny!
Yes, we used to have Dusty Dog! He would get the cows in and make sure they all walked into the yard. And if he wasn't behind them, you can garrentee he was waiting at the paddock gate. And would take you to a sick cow.
RIP Dusty Dog ❤️
Loved Slug's comments on herding by truck. He didn't sound impressed.
Watching the dogs work is absolutely amazing.
I love when Slug crowdsurfs on the sheep 🥰
When the truck drove past the farm in the drone footage I thought to myself, that’s one huge lamb 😂 5:06
I love the theory that you keep doing the scrot clips to convince the audiance that he's actually doing his job. Like your word isn't good enough or something, or secretly you haven't actually seen him.
He is I swear 😂
Wow, it’s amazing to see you all do this incredible work-even when it all hits the fan. It’s also great to have the weather updates for context!
Thank you, the weather is such a big part of farming so I think it’s important to include
Slug was legendary this week! The dogs work so well together. Also agree about the filming = friggin' awesome.
Helloo from Yukon Canada!! I wear mostly men's jeans because women pants never have decent pockets. Only exception I have found are jeans from a store called Warehouse One the jean store. Women's jeans from there have deeper pockets.
I need to get some of those jeans, then I can put my phone in the front pocket! 😂
@@TaraFarmsI sew, and regularly extend the front pockets for my daughter and I.
Tara, have you considered wearing tradies' trousers? Lots of pockets. They come in loads of sizes.
I’ll have to look if they come small enough I can’t be bothered hemming pants
@@TaraFarmsI just roll a cuff. My dad used to wear coveralls. What does Sandy use? She always has a camera at hand. Maybe one of us Canadians could hand deliver it. She has worn some neat colours. I'd do the alterations for you. I keep tuning in. Thank you for being you!!!
Somewhere on yt there would be a quick hack on hemming 🤣. The question is, are the bots listening
U either have to pay more or buy men's from kmart. I need navy for my job and got frustrated last yr
@trixmania Staples are the traditional hack. If Tara bags any grain, she might know wheatbag stitch, which is next level.
You k ow my grandpa tried the harness marking thing 3 years ago .we never got it to work. My grandpa just chucked it in the shed and we never tried it again. We dont know what we did wrong . But our rams did get the job done. LOVE THE VIDEOS ❤❤❤
It seemed to work after some rain and only on the ewes with wool. So I suspect that’s what I did wrong
@@TaraFarms hell if i know what went wrong. Seems tovwork more i guess in wetter climates. I live in Oklahoma. Summers here are kinda shit . Hella hot and dry. My grandpa loves how you did your homework on what breed sheep you wanted.
A lot of farmers follow trends.
Lovin your content
😀
Typo turning into a squeak toy when she sees a mob of sheep in the distance is my new reason to exist
Typo watching the sheep sounds like my godpuppy waiting to hit the trail. Nothing like an eager pupper!
I'm loving the drone footage, and seeing Slug come on. Also enjoy the sun safety content as a fellow pale, easily burned Aussie.
Thank you for demonstrating the fluid dynamics of sheep Tara lol definetly a cool watch!
Fluid dynamics 😁
Lol I’m drenched in sweat today after bagging hay in the heat and full sun. Even in shorts and t shirt I had to shower before I took my parents to town for doc appointment. Clothes all sweat wet and skin covered in hay dust.
Two groups I pity in the heat, farmers and aircon mechanics 😮
Another great vlog tara
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it Pauly!
you'd think the opening would detract from the joy of cold opening right on you cursing about whatever bs is on the docket for the day, but actually the preamble and cut from beautiful footage with serene music just makes it all the better
Scrot is just a gentleman, gotta seduce the ladies first, he's not a wham bam thank you ma'am kinda ram
Hey, Tara’s up!😊
Yep forgot to schedule the video 😂☠️
You are an amazing director, producer, and entertaining commentator! Thanks for the update.. Smiles..g
It is obvious it is a lot of work putting all that content together!..
What awesome drone footage Tara❤
Excellent drone footage and the scrot montage music was just mwah!
Hi from smoky Southern California 😷😱
Hope you're safe!
Thanks for a new adventure down under. The best part of my week! Say hello to the Slug :-)
Thank you watching Doug!
@@TaraFarms Heading to Korea again in Feb for two weeks, but will catch up when I get back home :-)
Love the drone footage. Also LOVE the glove/shirt hack! I hate the wrist tan I get lol!
I was literally having to put sunscreen on the button hole in my shirt 😂
Love your "B" roll opening. I know it's so much work. This city girl in America sure appreciates you, and I look forward to your posts every week. Thank you so so much!
Thanks for the trick with the gloves and the sleeves! Ingenious!!
(Long, detailed & hopefully helpful suggestions on pants to try)
Here in the US Levi standard style women’s jeans…especially those sold at farming supply stores & western stores…Ive found generally have deeper back pockets(front are still shite)AND are made with thicker denim that’s thus more durable & less likely to tear.
Really loved the video Tara, I especially loved the drone footage. Please give Typo a big hug from me.
That bit about underarm sweat (with movements) should be included in more catwalk routines.
I wear women's FXD brand work pants (only buy them on sale). They dont rip, they have multiple pockets including a lateral phone pocket. Works well for me
You say cull, I say freezer 😉
You missed a great joke! You could have said "THISTLE do for a camera spot!"
Keep up the great work!
absolutely love the Scrot soundtrack - good job editor Tara !
The drone footage was excellent! Thank you. Great video.
Scroat has that "been there done that" look. 😊🐑
I started using Natio sunscreen on your advice. It's so good and my skin has cleared up since not using normal old sunscreen on my face anymore. Natio need to sponsor you.
That’s great to hear! I’ve found the texture really nice to put on and it doesn’t seem to come off on everything
Hot weather really kills my phone battery too 😅 the whole thing shits itself a few times every summer
Yes! A new sheep video ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Welcome!
I thought the glove/shirt thing was high farm fashion and it's relatable ❤
Thanks Tara.... I needed these laughs tonight (🇨🇦 🍁)❣️✌️🙏💞🕯🫂
The harness really lets you see just how much weight the rams drop when it's doing the deed time.
Absolutely, I said to Liam the other day that we might need to catch them and either tighten it or take it off 😂
@@TaraFarms 😂 good luck with that
That drone footage is sick and the gloves are genius!
Thanks! I’ll send you some of the flies in return 🤣 We've had some rain in the last few weeks. We're normally dry this time of year
Nunchucknabee makes unisex pants and you can choose your own waist and inseam measurements.
Thanks! I’ll have to have a look and see. Liam has had pants like that but they rip just above the knees. Will have to see
the glove/shirt innovation did not go unnoticed - well done. good content.
That vision of three dogs and two cars working the mob up the fence line was awesome. 🤩Shame on you for not fully recharging the drone though.🤨
Your dedication to getting a shot of the dirty however made up a little bit for that.
Best show on the tube 👍 keep up the awesome work Tara. I love it.
I wear Duluth firehose flex pants, There are lots of pockets and the front pockets are deep enough for my phone. There is even a zippered pocket behind the back pockets.
I don't know what it is but those drone shots were mesmerising and calming . Awesome vlog
Re jeans, try SUK workwear. The rip stop work pant is great. Seriously deep pockets. Love them. Love your content.
When I see Scrote he reminds me of Footrot Flats Cecil the ram, who was a bit precious about doing his duty.
He requires a good wining and dining first!
@TaraFarms maybe he worries that the ewes won't respect him in the morning?
The drone footage made me think of how a flock of birds move when you were moving them from the paddocks. Love your content all the way from Texas! Oh, & love your Slug.
Concerning jeans:
There are tons of cool materials and styles available nowadays. tactical pants, camping pants..waterproof, slightly stretchy, durable, windproof, low odor, a million LARGE pockets with zippers on them (or not)...I suggest you do some shopping around.
To answer the pants question I have found that American army BDUs have been the best work pants they aren't the tightest, but one pair will last a good few years before any wear shows
About the jeans:
I used to have some mens jeans. they didnt last very long because my "female physique" (aka my thick thighs) wore out the thread in my crotch and it just fell apart after a few weeks. I have lately been trying out buying some fabric and just making usable pockets into my jeans. it looks shit but no one will see it anyways. i am also looking for better solutions though
You are now a sleeve influencer.
Tara love your videos. When I play your videos my husband says they put a huge smile on his face. He is originally from a small country farm and loves how you share and show your Aussie personality.❤
As a fellow woman having the locket issue:
I dont like how mens pants feel, they just have to have more room in certain places where i dont need ir like it.
I dont vuy jeans if i cant fit my phone in at least mostly, but i do have mine in the front pocket and in a car i just tend to put it in the cupholder
Some of my summer pants and skirts are to flowy for pants so then i just wear a backpack everywhere and chuck it in the bottleholder or inside (for pickpocket reasons in public transport) i have more stuff to carry around anyways
Thats one great birdhouse 😁. Poor Scrot being used for adult content 😂😂
There is something about the moistening intermissions. The joy
Awesome to watch the drone footage. Good to see you sharing the good the bad and info for those interested. My daughter and I raised a few orphans last year and they (lambs) can be so funny. I just wish I knew about your channel then. Anyway we had fun and they thrived on at my daughters house. Keep up the great work ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
