I met Ian Stewart a few years ago. He was giving a seminar and to me the purpose of it was to inspire, more so than just to inform. He seems to be quite a noble man in that regard. I believe he hopes he can carry the torch and light new generations with an ambition to solve the new and emergent problems of the day. To that end, he does so remarkably well.
great video, very informative and well put together! however, I can't help but wonder if the sensationalism around volcanoes sometimes overshadows the real scientific information we should be focusing on. like, yes, they can be super dangerous, but are we really doing enough to educate people on safety rather than just showing the destruction? just my 2 cents!
Imagine uncontrollably vomiting and noticing thousands of 🐜 🐜 🐜 ants surrounding your mouth. The ants began signing, chanting, putting on strange clothes, then begin throwing various bits of trash into your mouth. This is religion people. Grow up, already! 🤦🏾♂️
The thumbnail asked," how dangerous are volcanic eruptions?". Bringing to my mind that Italian city that was literally buried under volcanic ash and debris... Pompeii? Hurculanium...?
I hope they are paying these communities, that they say they have empowered, to take observations of their volcanoes into their own hands on a daily 24 hour 365 days a year as one man said.. “ instead of the experts coming along ?? I would love to see the experts pay day packet alongside the villagers who genuinely want to keep their communities safe. Who don’t arrive in private helicopters , for their next thrill keep adrenaline buzz memory. I think I’m making a fair observation, and only hope these villagers are not loosing sleep 265/24 just so the big guns can arrive on scene for their next thrill. I loved watching this up until that last bit of info was pushed in right at the end. Old Owl Alaya uk.
Why do " THE ENGLISH" pronounce every letter/syllable of the word INDONESIA but in the same sentence pronounce "Indonesia is" as Indoneser, Americer, Chiner, Rusher, etc. If I get answers from blokes who use the Queen's English?

Bro going to a volcano to ask for protection is crazy when you know how dangerous they are 😂
I tossed 3 virgins into that volcano hole, AND several boxes of mangos, still no winning lottery numbers!
Did you see 72 virgins pop out of the volcanic hole?
Very informative doc., liked the amazing idea of having a volcano watcher from the near by community.
I notice not a single volcano worshiper makes human sacrifices anymore I wonder why

Not a good documentary to fall asleep to. Too much loud sound effects and music
Volcanoes, not volcanos
It's a linguistic variation. Volcanos or volcanoes, both are correct. 😊
