Owl used this to remove the auction items before the Phantom Troupe could steal them, and Chrollo stole and used his ability while fighting Zeno and Silva. It makes sense to become him because he was kept alive for a while so Chrollo could use the ability in his fight. Bonolenov can probably remain transformed into Owl for a long time given the explanation of how Metamorphosen works.

Happy birthday! I would really love to see some shenanigans. Hisoka taking a twisted yet typical joker roll would be amazing. I.e. him controlling someone with bunjee gum to spar with Tserri to activate his nen beast's ability to turn them into something non-human would be horrifying yet funny in a way only Hisoka could do. I guess how Tserri/his beast interprets what an attack is would be important as well. That is, if Tserri isn't just a zetsu legend at that point and Hisoka would actually be interested in doing so. Halkenburg doing a wild swapfest would be very entertaining too. I feel like princes getting swapped to each other's bodies willy-nilly would be quite a sight as well. We might need the narrator to step in à la the Palace Invasion to make sense of left from right though.

He'll be the enemy of Kakin and also be hunted down by The Zodiacs. Classism exists in the HxH world, so no one, including Hisoka, is going guns blazing in the midst of the elites.
Dogman is after a guard. Morena asked him to capture one many chapters ago. Let's remember Tse "friends" taking about what to do in case of their capture. Ps: I believe they are after a emitter for a simple reason: Teleportation is crucial to Morena plan and one of their members with this kinda of ability was killed. A specialist is a wild card, it's very risk to capture one and expect him to have a very particular ability. Emitter, Enhancer, and the other nen types, are way easier to mold (and faster). Not everyone is a genius like Tse to have such a insane learning curve.
Safe to say, that Wang won’t be calling up Hinrigh or the other troupe members given the next page confirms he’s working with Morena. Sets up a potential red flag for our trio of troupe members.

Hisoka is a floor master, so it would make sense that he loves battling strong opponents. It would also explain how he knew about halkenburg’s ability, he could have asked about it and she told him

To be honest, I don't think the "Joker" is going to be anything too mind-blowing. I'm 99% sure it's just DogMan. Boring answer, but that's just how I read that scene. As for how Hisoka got up to tier 1 and whether a prince invited him up there, who's to say that one of the princes watched Hisoka's performance in Heaven's Arena? Heck, maybe Tssereidnich got a kick out of Hisoka vs Chrollo and saw it as a "work of art". Considering some of the similarities between Tssereidnich and Hisoka we got this chapter, I think making those two characters have a connection like that makes some sense. I also think Hisoka being on tier 1 is going to make it all the more inevitable that he runs into Kurapika again. Maybe before that happens Hisoka runs into Benolenov, and that's how Hisoka ends up spilling the beans to Kurapika about the Phantom Troupe being on. the ship? Just some ideas.
In order to use Camilla’s nen ability you need to be in Zetsu. If Chrollo used Zetsu it would deactivate Bandit’s Secret causing him to lose the borrowed ability. I think he literally can’t use it.
I think ''joker'' might be kaiser. Kaiser is a wild card who might be helping anybody on this ship actually lol. But Heil-ly registered their members as civilians and with that they bypassed justice bureau. Kaiser can easily help them without getting caught since they are not some shady mafia members on paper. Kaiser also basically wants to destroy everything, I mean have you ever seen him rejecting an idea of killing someone lol. What if someone who doesn't have Scarlet Eyes steals the ability? Would they be able to use it at all? Would they never be able to turn it off and just burn out their life until they die? I have no idea. Regardless of whether the ability is actually able to be stolen, there are too many questions about how it would even work for someone like Chrollo.

I believe there is a possibility that the ability's condition requires it to activate when his eyes turn scarlet. It adds to the danger (and therefore the power) because if he gets emotional his life will automatically start draining. That would explain why he trained to control his eyes on demand. I would have to reread parts of the series, but I remember there being details leading me to believe this was possible or even likely. You are definitely right that it isn't confirmed though.
I'm calling it now: Haukenbueg vs Benjamin is gonna be a Oberyn Martell vs The Mountain moment. We are so spoilt by common tropes that we incapable of thinking otherwise. I believe Togashi aims to use many minor characters to subvert expectations.
My wild guess is the succession war will ended without we knowing if the future king is himself/herself or is possessed by Halkenburg. I don't like the ideia of woble winning the succession war. It's cheap and way too "happy".

I think I know how Halkenburg can swap into Benjamin guaranteed, alright so halkenburg gets his followers around him he pulls back the bowstring and then his followers all commit suicide leaving halkenburg the only one who is left to possess Benny, not only does this reinforce halks downward spiral of morality. We see he is willing to sacrifice his followers earlier in the ark with the suicide in front of luzurus's room BUT the big problem with my theory is that grimmel might not work if halks followers die, BUT it could also bolster this theory as the succession war has touched on post-mortem nen constantly. Last we saw of him he was trying to pin down the location of the Heil-ly hideout by using a transmitter that he planted there with his ability. So, we don’t know exactly where he is but we do know what he’s doing.
Adressing your question regarding bonolenov kaige. This is a long comment so bear with me haha: My journey with hxh started with the 99 anime. So bono was really only on my radar because he was a completely unknown member of the troupe. Following the 99 anime I watched the 2011 anime and again he did nothing in yorknew, but his aesthetic being two contrasting things: boxing gloves and mummy wrapping had me really curious. Then Chimera Ant really caught me off guard. Expecting some power representative of those two themes, togashi blindsided me with a musical aspect instead. So he had the screen presence, he had the shock factor and he had the design to go with it. Also helps that his opponent killed ponzu which yielded a very satisfying fight. Moving on to his ability which is musically based. It's in reference to the composer Gustav Holst who composed a piece called Jupiter. In fact, the scene where he uses this ability the anime plays the "rhapsody on the theme of holst" ost from the soundtrack. It was just so epic and awesome that he had an ability that, in my assumption, is him actually performing the piece Jupiter that is actually translating to a large scale nen attack in the shape of the titular planet. That was when I knew his character was my favorite. I have odd picks in general for long running shows. In OP my favorite was always kizaru even just from his introduction, and my fav strawhat is brook (funnily same va who does Bonolenov's voice). It's just in my brain to always lean towards the "outcasts" or odd balls of shows. Bonolenov definitely fit that role perfectly. Though in hindsight I understand why he wasnt used in Yorknew given the utility of his abilities wouldn't really help them that much. Him not being shown in the troupe riot montage (uvo's requiem) probably meant togashi hadn't made his mind up about his powers yet haha. Great podcast as always!
Feitans and bonolenov can cause wide range damage but the ship is designed for a rough voyage. so long they sont launch such an ability at the motor or on the ships spine or lower haul it should be recoverable damage. Hell the way the ship is designed the poor and most "disposable" would drown first. frankly this is pretty low on the "we are so fu***d" list on this journey. Togashi also doesnt go out of his way to nerf orremove strong characters like he did with knov and morel in CH. All relevant characters and monsters are set like a giant 4dgungichessgo collected arround here.
It does look tolerable and FUN for sure but the facial expressions..they could use a LIL work..just my opinion. I think it looks frickin fun tho like mvc3 kinds of fun lol

We see he is willing to sacrifice his followers earlier in the ark with the suicide in front of luzurus's room BUT the big problem with my theory is that grimmel might not work if halks followers die, BUT it could also bolster this theory as the succession war has touched on post-mortem nen constantly. i mean the nen ability already relies on their willingness to die in and of itself, them actually committing suicide would just further strengthen the ability imo
Does anyone remember where Hinrigh is currently while all this is happening? I lost track of where he is and how he’s gonna come back into play
Last we saw of him he was trying to pin down the location of the Heil-ly hideout by using a transmitter that he planted there with his ability. So, we don’t know exactly where he is but we do know what he’s doing.

I think he's in hiding cuz he said after he placed the transmitter, he used too much of his nen so he has to go hide. Probably somewhere in tier 2
bonolenov and shizuko are the top candidates to die first because their abilities really doesnt have a chance against hisoka.
Adressing your question regarding bonolenov kaige. This is a long comment so bear with me haha:
My journey with hxh started with the 99 anime. So bono was really only on my radar because he was a completely unknown member of the troupe. Following the 99 anime I watched the 2011 anime and again he did nothing in yorknew, but his aesthetic being two contrasting things: boxing gloves and mummy wrapping had me really curious.
Then Chimera Ant really caught me off guard. Expecting some power representative of those two themes, togashi blindsided me with a musical aspect instead. So he had the screen presence, he had the shock factor and he had the design to go with it. Also helps that his opponent killed ponzu which yielded a very satisfying fight.
Moving on to his ability which is musically based. It's in reference to the composer Gustav Holst who composed a piece called Jupiter. In fact, the scene where he uses this ability the anime plays the "rhapsody on the theme of holst" ost from the soundtrack. It was just so epic and awesome that he had an ability that, in my assumption, is him actually performing the piece Jupiter that is actually translating to a large scale nen attack in the shape of the titular planet.
That was when I knew his character was my favorite. I have odd picks in general for long running shows. In OP my favorite was always kizaru even just from his introduction, and my fav strawhat is brook (funnily same va who does Bonolenov's voice). It's just in my brain to always lean towards the "outcasts" or odd balls of shows. Bonolenov definitely fit that role perfectly. Though in hindsight I understand why he wasnt used in Yorknew given the utility of his abilities wouldn't really help them that much. Him not being shown in the troupe riot montage (uvo's requiem) probably meant togashi hadn't made his mind up about his powers yet haha.

Feitans and bonolenov can cause wide range damage but the ship is designed for a rough voyage. so long they sont launch such an ability at the motor or on the ships spine or lower haul it should be recoverable damage. Hell the way the ship is designed the poor and most "disposable" would drown first.
frankly this is pretty low on the "we are so fu***d" list on this journey. Togashi also doesnt go out of his way to nerf orremove strong characters like he did with knov and morel in CH. All relevant characters and monsters are set like a giant 4dgungichessgo collected arround here.
It does look tolerable and FUN for sure but the facial expressions..they could use a LIL work..just my opinion. I think it looks frickin fun tho like mvc3 kinds of fun lol
