Great and informative tutorial, well done. Will certainly save lots of labour costs if you can obtain a replacement lid. As others have remarked, I think very high temperatures may be causing the latch to fail. Dont know if it was just me, but the sound was barely audible, although the video was good and self explanatory.

Hi Giulio, have you found the spare part of the lid? The same as on the video happen to me and I found the spare part only on ebay, but the price 87 £ looks so expensive. Have you solved it?

I know it's late but maybe someone else will need this. It's a general problem of this lid that the latch breaks. People tend to take out the spring, or glue it shut so it is not open all the time. I just pried mine open because it was glued shut. You might have the same situation.
Erman, I've installed this lid right now. I was following the instruction according to the video and it was very easy. I bought it in Slovakia for 90 €. I think it is too expansive, but the opened lid frustrated me 2 years 😀 Official Ford store asks here 130 € for this part. So try to check unofficial sellers.
@@stevo6958 Hello Stevo, thank you for your reply. Actually it was a huge price in Turkey too. I researched the 2nd hand seller but there was non around Turkey. So I decided to go to car upholsterer( I don't know if its correct word, just google translated) They built new and beautiful floor there and people asking as its a very nice design :) The total amount of money I paid for it was 30 dollars or 200 Unit according to Turkish lira :)
Thanks. It's simple when you know how. The click-fit catch is a pretty flimsy device. Poor design. I may just fit a magnetic catch and a pull knob to open the lid.
That's just what I needed. Mine broke in the same place and have got a replacement lid coming soon. 122 GBP as of 02/2024

Alternatively if the catch is broken, remove the unit, remove the spring and leave it off. The lid will still stay shut.
