The refs got this partially wrong. The woman on the floor was trying to protect herself by kicking at the multiple women standing over her. She had 3 women of the other team standing over her and one was aggressively coming towards her.
Sykes initially cuffed her arm around her waist pulling Clarendon down causing Clarendon to bring her arm around Sykes to stop the fall but ended up taking both of them down. And then Sykes had the nerve to get mad when she was the one of caused it?
Wrong.
You saw what u wanted to see. She was coming hard and it was too late for Skyes to react... so Skyes held her with no intention of harming her, hoping the play would stop... She didn't want to cause harm for her reason of holding her instead.
The other girl was just frustrated about being held and added some extra ump to the situation. So Skyes said F-It

Nahhh Sikes clearly went for the ball but she took issue with the arm/elbow. The other player pulled her down as a result of her momentum.
Oh wow I didn't even see the elbow and I watched it live she def flopped with the arm/elbow plus the pull down at the back of the jersey

No play on the ball, straight flagrant by Sikes with the hold. No foul should be called on Clarenden.
When Clarendon retaliated with the kick, it apparently led to the ejection. Otherwise I saw no reason for an ejection.

@@MaydayAggro Out in the real world, it's called self-defense. In the reality that is sports, it's called retaliation, and is usually more likely to be cause for an ejection than the original offense. They always get the second one.

It looks like Sykes was initially attempting to hold her up and keep her from falling, while wrapping her up to make sure she didn't get a shot off. But both of them lost their balance, and then Clarendon grabbed the back of her shirt and pulled, perhaps to get separation as they fell. None of the original play was malicious, and was just good tough basketball. It was the push from Sykes and the retaliatory kick from Clarendon that went too far.

If someones on their way up for a jump, what do you expect is gunna happen if you jump infront of them regardless of being held or not. Don't need to watch the video multiple times to understand basic physics and momentum.
