@@writerlywitterings Nice, that’s good to know! I’ll have to keep an eye out. Wanted to grab Winter Wood, Periwinkle Blue and Maple but maybe I should wait or just get Winter Wood, which I like as a less harsh alternative to black.
I hope all is good with Michael and he is just taking well deserved a vacation. But not seeing any content from him for so long I just realized how much I miss him ;-)
Another Pearl Series Dominant Industry I really love is Sunset, it is a pale violet with a nice shimmery effect on the page. Well behaved too in the 2 pens I tried it. Flow is on the dry side of average but still ok.
I tend to find DI runs a little drier than others, but never to the extent of giving any problems with any of my pens - I haven't tried Sunset. I may have to succumb ...
It is 3 am in the morning of September 1, 2023 in Ontario, Canada. As I sit surrounded by a variety of inexpensive ball point pens. I realise that have never considered exactly how wasteful it all is. So I shall dig out my old Waterman pen as a small gesture towards saving the planet. It strikes me that there is a possibility that small companies might offer a way towards a new way of re-organizing ourselves. Like other cottage industries, like wine, beer, gluten free bread, perhaps we can steadily reclaim ourselves and perhaps gradually our planet. In other words that by going back, to an earlier methodology, we may find ourselves moving forward once again. Small is beautiful.
It's one of the things I really like about Tom's Studio. He and the business appear to take reusing seriously, from packaging to products. I'm really impressed with his range of fine-liners, which look really superb from the point of view of a sketcher/artist. Reusable cartridges that you fill from ordinary ink bottles, replaceable nibs or brushes, and all in a very attractive package. This pen is still filled and in my pocket several days on. It's not leaked or given any problems, and the nib is settling down and working better every day. Glad you enjoyed the video, by the way. I used to visit Uxbridge, Ontario, every year when friends lived there. Sadly they moved to Vancouver just at the time that I started writing, and the different income prevented more regular visits, but I've very fond memories of Toronto and the area north. Have a happy Fall!
Like your new haircut! I’m curious why you used the color “vermillion” when describing Leaf Green??? Vermillion is a color family and pigment that’s red orange. I didn’t see any red orange in your Leaf Green sample. Were my eyes playing tricks with me?
Great review, I liked that Leaf Green in particular. That TWSBI Go release plunger seems dragged. You may want to consider oiling it with silicone oil/grease. Dismantling youtube video available from “pen boy roy” & “goulet pens”.
Nobody’s fault here as it seems just how TWSBI GO behave if I looked at reviews, but on the positive side you can make a video of you doing commentary while servicing it 😀
Have to admit, the eccentric writer of murder mysteries worked better with that shock of hair going every which way. Of course, one has to have hair to make that work. That is my particular problem. Those glorious locks flowing across my shoulders 50 years ago exist only in my memories and an occasional photo. Anyway, the inks look great. Do you find an increased use of the shimmer type inks? I have a couple but they came with other things and were not direct purchases because I cannot even begin to put together some use for these things.
I have gone over to your hairstyle years ago. Comb overs were more a hassle than it was worth. So I have gotten used to not worrying about carrying a comb. My wife thinks I look sexy. That seems to override any vanity I may have had. As for the inks, the packaging is superb. As I use EF nibs, I think shimmer inks would not be recommended. Still very nice colors. That said the Tanzanite looks perfect for me. I was considering Robert Oster Deep Purple but this Tanzanite is a strong contender.
A note about diabetes. If you find an unexplained sore, however small, run to the doctor. I waited just four days and after two surgeries I am now missing my right leg about five inches below the knee. Nice nurses, decent food, but I believe I would rather have my leg. But that may just be me. No telling how long before I get out, but not soon. Fortunately. I have several of your novels on this tablet so all is not lost.
James, I'm so sorry to read this. It's shocking to see how many people are suffering from this kind of issue. I suppose we get used to how our bodies used to heal when we are young, and the reality of Diabetes kicks in too late for so many of us. All best wishes and I hope you have a good recovery from the op. Best of luck.
@@writerlywitterings Thank you for your reply. It made me happy! The colours are beautiful and they are "well behaved" as far as I've used them. Saying this as a fan if Diamine and Ferris Wheel Press!
Very nice review! I purchased the Pearl Autumn Forest but was disappointed in the amount of shimmer. The particles fall out of suspension fairly quickly and mostly sits in the pen and feed. Or maybe I’m just bad at knowing the best pen for this style of ink. No worries, I love the “light bulb” bottle! I might just use the bottle to hold another ink I like more. 🤷♀️🙋♀️❤️🖋
Very sensible! They are lovely bottles. I use very wet pens, and I find the shimmer particles stay well in suspension - perhaps it's finer nibs that have a bit of a problem?
@@writerlywitterings it could be. Fountain pens are a journey and we all are just along for the ride! 😀Since my earlier comment, I have tried this ink in a TWSBI Eco with a broad nib. BEAUTIFUL shimmer results! ❤️🖋🙋🏼♀️
No, I have to admit I've not read any of hers (yet). It's a real problem, being a writer. I started writing because I love reading, and as a result now I have far less time to read!
Tanzanite and Romanian Red really look striking on the page. Thanks for showing us how these colors look.
My pleasure. A bunch of new ones coming up early in the New Year.

A great selection of inks, well worth an explore. Thanks again for your time and enthusiasm!
Cheers, Paul!

Many thanks! I'll be adding them again from next week, with luck!

Cheers Mike 👍🏻Some nice inks here and I like your writing samples being in those books to compare them all.
Glad you like them!
And apparently a moth! 😂 the enthusiasm with which this was said as he scrambled out of frame really made me smile
The videos would be boring if they weren't fun!
Mike, are you out there and doing well? We miss you!
Hi, John, and don't worry, I'm back and firing on all cylinders!
Dashing good choice on the hair!
Well, it was a case of either waiting for it to happen, or hurrying things along!
Enjoyed the video, Dominant Industry has some very interesting colors for sure!
Yes they do - I'm really impressed by their various colours.
"Vermilion?" channeling Lady Bracknell. I don't think you mean vermilion.
But you have convinced me to try this ink. Great series of reviews!
"Viridian" perhaps?
@@donaldrae9550 I think you may be right! I also questioned his use of the descriptor, “vermillion” for Leaf Green.
You're quite right. One of those days when I was suffering from language failure!

I thought the same.

And you were right! Apologies.
Great inks, awesome hair style! Good video! Thank you! 😃
Many thanks, Knut, my friend!

Yes, I have to go through that video on fixing the plunger on the Go. My fault that it got like that! Thanks!

Ah, memories. I have some of them, too. Of thick, curly hair ... a long time ago now!
Well, well, well...
For me, £240 one litre of that ink s a lot of money.
750 cl of Lagavulin, 16 year old whisky, cost €82 "only".
Regards.
Haha! Yes, but to be fair, once opened and used, the ink will last a LOT longer!

Thanks, Paul - I think we've been married too long for my wife to consider me sexy - perhaps she needs new glasses!

Love Dominant Industry Inks. I think it's the brand I have the most.
I can easily understand why. I'm really enjoying them!

awesome video ! I would love to see what your fav diamine inks are!
He has many videos reviewing Diamine inks by color groups. In those, he states his favorites.
I think you ought to be able to do a search for Diamine, and that will bring up all my reviews on them.

Hi Michael have you read The Daughter of time by Josephine Tey? Just purchased the book. As I have heard so much acclaim the book has received.
