LS Coil Pack Relocation by Holley - Pt 1

- Thanks to Holley Performance, I was able to remote mount my LS coil packs to another location in the engine bay to clean up the look under the hood! I put some new valve covers on to eliminate the coil mounts as well as upgraded the coil packs themselves to some high performance MSD Blaster coils. All products seen in this video are listed below as well as the other Holley products on my LS swapped E36.

Holley also have 2pc valve covers that hide the coil packs part # 241-172
Yeah those are pretty cool! I just wanted to try and get the wires away from the headers more.
@@TylerBerryDrifting Im trying to do this on a sbc i have the Accel Gen V supercoils part # 140080-8 planning on getting this bracket what spark plug wires do I need will the Accel 9060 Extreme work

Love the clean look inside the engine bay, great installation video! Can you make a video on your fuel system? I’m also using the radium stuff but not that style FPR.

Did you consider using spacers behind the coil pack, so you could keep your struts( maybe)
I did consider it. It is something that I plan to look at in the future for sure!
Space the bracket out further so you clear the hood shock.
I like your thinking. I need to look into how to do that. In the short time I have had no hood shocks, I sure miss them. Lol

Why the MSD coils vs the Holley coils. MSD Blaster series vs the Holley "smart" coil
Holley owns MSD. But aside from that, I don’t remember Holley coils being an option for an LS at the time.
Is this car a built bottom end or stock? love the car btw
I appreciate it. It is just a stock bottom end LQ9. We just took it apart, re-ringed the pistons and put all new bearings in the bottom end.
That looks good! Are you using an LS power steering pump? We just recently made some adapters on our twin turbo 6.0 e36 to mount the bmw power steering pump on ls heads.
Yes. I am currently using the LS power steering pump and haven’t had any issues…. Knock on wood! Lol that’s pretty interesting!
@@TylerBerryDrifting gotcha, yeah we did some research when doing the actual swap and sounded like the bmw pump performed better and was more responsive than the ls pump so we designed a bracket and it seems to work decent.
Like I said, I haven’t had an issue with the LS pump yet. So in my mind, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Lol But if it goes out, I may have to look into your adapter and see if it’s any better!
