    How did you like the set up in the long run??? Just did the same kit my self for the front disc set up from the same company. The mast booster I did years back like yours using a corvette double pot 1” bore set up. My front disc kit was okay the upper caliper holes wore not threaded had to have them machine threaded to finish the kit.

      Oh man that sucks I didn't have to machine anything except grinding a little on the bracket which like I said the instructions mentioned. I love it! Best upgrade man. The only thing is my steering and suspension are original and suck. Kinda scary to drive at high speeds. I bought a nova clip and will be swapping over to it with nova disc and power steering soon. Will make a video of that swap as well. Thanks

      Nice man! My 49 I built in 07 and have driven it over 110,000 miles with the stock front end and brakes many a times over 100 mph racing my buddies on the highway car ran 13.88 in the 1/4. Just did the disc brake upgrade today because of the cost of brake drums. 145$ a drum is crazy!

      @@phantoms1956 wow that's fast. I seriously can't do 75mph without being scared. I also drag race my 70 camaro at 112mph and it goes straight as an arrow. I just can't see myself rebuilding 70 year old technology with king pins. Plus adding power steering, I think it will be worth it

      I ordered mine from eBay I forget the seller. Master and booster and bracket came from eBay as well. Just look up a firewall mount/hotrod master cylinder bracket. I had to modify mine a lil but no big deal. Also drilled 4 holes to sandwich the bracket firewall and booster.

    Did you have to remove your upper grease fitting?

    • @augustoescobar50

      No not at all. The only mod I had to do was a lil bit of grinding on the bracket

      @@augustoescobar50 that must be an issue caused by my dropped uprights then

      Oh ya sorry didn't mention mine was all stock. Dropped upright may be causing that

    tomsclassic is the name of the eBay seller. The company that makes the kit is called Auto City Classic, from Isanti Minnesota. They are probably the same person. Does your car have drop spindles?

    • @augustoescobar50
      @augustoescobar50  3 роки тому

      Thanks for that. No it has stock height spindles with 57 Chevy front springs that were cut

    Does the ford conversion move the wheels out like the chevy conversion does?

    • @augustoescobar50
      @augustoescobar50  2 роки тому

      I don't believe so. Honestly I didn't notice it at all if it did. The instructions didn't say it did. Unfortunately I can't confirm for sure but honestly if it did it was so minimal i didn't even notice.

      Thanks for getting back to me. The chevy conversion kits space the wheel out 3/8". It isn't much but with the amount my '51 Belair was lowered it would have made my tires hit the fender on full steering turns so I couldn't run discs

    • @augustoescobar50
      @augustoescobar50  2 роки тому

      Yes the chevy kits do. My buddy has a 54 sedan we are building and his did move out but his is only slightly lowered so it didn't affect him much. I will tell you what tho, this is one of those times where I say to myself...wish I woulda done this sooner. Disc brake conversions will be on top of my list for every classic car from now on.
