At age 81, I still begin each day shaving, listening to Larnelle and Sandy sing “I’ve Just Seen Jesus”. None of us will ever be the same again!!! Love ya’ all! 😎👑✝️❤️🙏🙏🙏
In 1994, my mother had me learn Mighty Spirit to sing for her in church. At 18 years old I did not know who Larnelle was I just listened to the cassette and learned the words. 22 years later I'm just now educating myself about him and he has an amazing testimony. His song will forever be in my heart. Thank you Sir
I first came across his songs back in the mid 90's whilst having my quiet time early in the morning at about 4am. Back then there was only 1 Christian radio station in the country; Radio Light Ministry. They would play one of his songs during this hour whilst I got up to study my devotional as well as my school books; I was in year 10. I could never forget his voice and songs. We didn't have internet back then to look up a person's name and see his face and read his bio as we're able to these day and age. I only recognised his melodious and soothing voice and songs of praise. It did me well back then. Now I have a son who's in year 4 and he loves amd sings Larnelle's song "Friends in High Places". We have been blessed by God through Larnelle's talent. I pray that many others will be blessed by it! Thank you Bill Gaither for including Larnelle as a Gospel artist and partner in spreading God's message to the rest of the world. Vinaka from Fiji!
I am so glad that Larnell stayed in the church. So many secular artists had the solid church foundation and went into the world. I think about Aretha Franklin, The Pointer sisters . God bless you Larnell in your ministry
I've always loved Larnelle BUT after hearing this interview I have fallen IN LOVE with who he truly is. He LIVES what he sings, he lives the Gospel, how amazing is that?? He has such a distinctive voice and when he hits those high notes I just get FILLED WITH HOLY GOOSE BUMPS!! WE LOVE YOU LARNELLE!!
Thanks, Larnelle, for your annointed music ministry, your example of a godly man who loves his wife and family. You are one of a few who is unaffected by all the well-deserved accolades from the gospel music industry. God Bless you and your family! Once again, thank you for sharing your wonderful, God - given gift of music and for all the joy and healing it has brought to so many all around this world.
That story about the Bibles was touching and humbling. When I just got saved I listened to his cassette nonstop. Thank you Mr Harris and thank You Lord for calling him.
Thank you Larnelle for your many years of service to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! I love you brother, and I have been a fan ever since I first heard you in concert in Crossgates, MS back in the 90s!
I just filled with mix emotions after hearing Larnell testimony because I'm at low point in my life right now but one thing is sure the same God who brought him through every storm will do the same for me. God bless u brother.
Yes He will Christine! God will bring you through whatever it is you're going through, and if need be, He'll carry you through it like the story of the footprints in the sand. God bless you sister.
I love you Larnelle Harris ,your voice and songs have been a blessing to me, I enjoy hearing and singing your songs, continue to do what you’re doing, blessings ❤❤🙏😊👏👌
loved this so much.. when I hear his voice it brings tears to my eyes because those albums are some of my earliest memories in life. Such an amazing gift, and his consistent walk with Jesus and life of integrity... so encouraging
Amen! The presence of God is so strong when they sing together. What a blessing. Hallelujah. Glory to God! May many people come to know be Jesus as they hear these songs.
Praise God! What a blessing to hear this testimony story of his life. All he has been through. It really touched and spoke to me. Even moved to tears. How wonderful is our God!!!. If God can see Larnell through all kinds of trials. He can certainly see me through. Thank you for sharing your story and may God richly bless you and your family in Jesus name.
What lovely insight into this humble servant of our Lord. I think the first I became familiar with his magnificent talent was on an old program, "The Ross Bagley Show", probably early 80s.
I REMEMBER SEARCHING 4 A CHRISTIAN ALBUM JUST OFF US HWY 17 NEAR RAMSEY N.J.N I ASKED THE STORE CLERK WHAT I WAS LOOKING 4 AND HE RECOMMENDED THE ALBUM HOT AIR BALLOON WITH BILL GAITHER VOCAL BAND FEATURING LARNELLE HARRIS I LISTENED TO PART OF A SONG N PURCHASED THE ALBUM IMMEDIATELY OH MY WHAT A BLESSING BACK IN 1983? THANH YOU JESUS💝☺
Steve and Larnelle seems ever so humble. They have been a blessing from on high throughout my life. Thank you Jesus for living out your life within men. Amen!
A very amazing bio Larnelle.I lost my voice once and could really relate to the frustration. I have seen God work in all situations when things come against us and He heals all of our diseases.I read psalm 103 daily.Judy Gale
A wonderful testimony, amen, that's our journey and our desire, always to be serving Christ and others.may God bless your brother Larnell Harris,in ministry and in personal witness. The world is a better place because of people like you sir.
God's Man After GOD's Own Heart Songs-Examples-Praise...Especially In the Spirit Of GOD's LOVE Demonstrated In Actions And Deeds!!!!! I LOVE YOU AS I LOVE JESUS/GOD-ALMIGHTY.....TO GOD'S GLORY I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A SINGER AND CARING SOUL SO LOVELY!!!!!
That last bit about the most important thing... is well put. What matters most is not the stage performance, not the grammys and awards, not the crowds... it is the one on one relationships, the personal with God, with family... how to be the best with who and what matters most.... an ongoing process.
He was born July 6th, 1947? That makes him only one day younger than my mother! She loved Larnelle's music, but she never knew his birthday! If only she was still with us, if I told her this, she'd probably flip!
It is my understanding that JULY 6th (I'll leave the year out!) is your birthday!! That is my #1 reason for writing this little note to you....just to wish you a VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY & BLESSED BIRTHDAY!! I pray for many more awesome years ahead for you and US to be blessed by YOU and your amazing, GOD-given talents!!!
the story about an usher not letting Larnelle into the stadium ended different than I was expecting. I thought Larnelle would sing for him and that would prove it. The usher stereotyping Larnelle reminded me of a similar experience I had. I was young and poor and lived in a trailer park. Once a year a certain church in town had a revival and a couple of young men from the church would come to the trailer park and " bring the gospel " to us sinners. They asked me if I died tonight would I go to heaven. I told them by God's Grace I would. Like the usher who treated Larnelle with disbelief they looked at me as if I was lying to them and they left. The park I lived in was made up of many retired people - many of them attended church. And there were some like me who were Christians but did not have much money. I feel sure the percentage of unsaved people in the park was no greater than the general population. It certainly was not a nest of drug users, gang members etc. Yet we were the one place the church sent members to each year when they had their revival and wanted to take the gospel to the sinners. The park was owned by a rich man and was located in the middle of a very nice neighborhood with fine houses. Yet I never saw the evangelists from the church knocking on the rich people's door to tell them about Jesus. I guess they didn't read the part about few rich people knowing God.
I love Larnelle's passion for singing. What a special gift he has.

When you are in a storm you cannot see the WHY...but after the storm when you see how it changed you for the better, you are thankful!

@0:51....Larnelle looks dead on his father. No need for a paternity test in his case.
This bio skips over his tenure with the band, "First Gear" through the 70s.
Prayer works!!!
