Kawasaki Z400 back to life!

This Z400 came in to us as a non runner after many years in storage. We've worked through it too get it running again, and back to a roadworthy condition so the owner can start on the cosmetics. It'll be interesting to see it turn back into a tidy bike now!

Very similar to my 1981 GPZ 550. Still one of the best machines ever produced in my opinion.

Great to see an old classic still running, my brother and I had a Z750 's. Mine was a 1980 model and my brothers was the same shape as the 400 in the clip. The engine turning over brought back great memories of blasting around South Africa.

Back in the mid eighties, when everyone around here got tired of lc350s they graduated to these, alfa (?) 4 into ones , just to let people know you were on way.

who ever heard of a Z400 ? a 400 cc four cylinder from Kawasaki...............never heard of it.......strange......... and cool !

My first motorbike, terrible bike, awfull bike, went round corners like a puppy on a leash,
decent Conti`s improved it`s handling (a lot) but no, far too heavy for a 400, it was a bike of it`s day BUT, Honda moved the game on, I switched to a CBR 600 pronto -half the weight & twice the performance & I never regretted it, I do not miss my Z400!

Agreed they definitely weren't made for handling! Definitely a bike of its time, they make a cool retro mini muscle bike now though!

you took 18 months to fix that bike they should brought it to me done it in a week you to slow.
