Great video I love the church I used to go to the church with the church school Beaconsfield St on certain days of the year mum dad got married at church in 1941 and my brothers daughter got married their and my brother who had been major of Knowsley and of Prescot years a gohe died in Dec 2020his name was dave friar and he had his funeral their at the church the church was packed and it was packed outside the church
No way. I'm from Kensington but my nan and grandad moved to Whiston before I was born and this is where I always met her on a Saturday. I think there was a Sayers or something near the woolies and that's where we used to meet. I've not been since the 90s probably.
Loving the videos on Prescot Philip 👍 We have recently moved to the town and have enjoyed learning more about the place from your videos. We went to the elizabethan fayre and it was great to see so many people in the town, fantastic to also go into both churches. Do you know if there is access to the tower in St Mary's? It must give amazing views for miles around. Off to my first performance at the Shakespeare north theatre as well tonight so looking forward to that. Have been into the theatre on the opening day but yet to see a play so delighted to get tickets for just 5 pounds as well 👍 Looking forward to more videos and will look out for you and come and say hello if ever see you out and about 😊
Thank you for your kind comments and pleased you are enjoying the vids. St. Mary’s have run guided tours of the tower, but they are very rare. I have long advocated that they should organise perhaps regular monthly tours. It would be a great way to raise much needed funds for the church.
