@@jakeavendano1362 Linsanity is not Jeremy Lin’s fault. It is a narrative created by the New York media. A lot of 2nd round picks and undrafted players are making a name for themselves from small market teams like the Spurs, Grizzlies and the Raptors from time to time but Jeremy Lin was given the special treatment because he was a New York Knick.

I saw Fred Vanvleet in person 2016 walking around Scotia bank after the day he signed his 2 way contract. Thought he wasn't going to make the team.. Look at him now. Undrafted to All-star! Inspirational
I saw him walking on queen street by himself holding a footlocker bag and as he walked by i whispered his name wrong like fred vanbleet and he turned around kinda surprised and said hi and walked away
This was right after the summer league before he even made the team
The two-way contract was introduced in the NBA ahead of the 2017-2018 season, Fred was never a two-way player

@@SaiKhot Nope not Jeremy Lin himself. The narrative of Linsanity. Jeremy Lin was undrafted and then played good for a brief period in New York and all of a sudden the media treated him like he was the superstar of the future. A lot of undrafted and 2nd round pick players like Vanvleet have similar stories to Lin who have to work their way into the league but why did the media gave Lin the special treatment? The answer, he happened to be playing for the New York Knicks that time. A large market NBA team and that made his story sell. That is the problem with the NBA right now. Players like Talen Horton Tucker and Austin Reaves from the Lakers are more popular than rising stars like Vanvleet and Dejounte Murray from the Spurs who play for small market teams.

@@hetp490 Yes but it is because of the population of Toronto so population wise, Toronto looks like a large market but TV marketwise, the Raptors have a small market. If you want proof, compare the views of the NBA Finals 2019 and the 4 finals that the Warriors and Cavaliers faced off. There is a dramatic drop when it was Raptors vs Warriors although it still looked average because of the popularity of Golden State.

Respect to Fred VanVleet making history by becoming only the 4th undrafted player in NBA history to be named an All Star and the FIRST to do it at the point guard position! Nevermind making history by being the only undrafted player to score 54 points in a single game and doing it with only 17 shots made. Also, made history by signing the largest contract an undrafted player has ever received.
VanVleet made history by becoming the first player ever have back-to-back games with 30+ points, 5+ assists, 5+ threes and no turnovers.
