I think my Dad went to the same 'trade' school as you...he says the two most important multi tools in every man's box is a big ol hammer and a rusty butter knife! Oh, and the cursing is absolutely mandatory! Great video!
What a great "How To" video. It's not that I'll ever take a motor out of a washer, but now I know how do to it using a simple butter knife and pliers. lol
be sure to check the lint balls for treasures! i find more gold, silver, ear rings, and coins in dryer tear downs than metal detecting.i returned a gold loop earring and gold detroit lions necklace to their owners because i remembered where i picked them up, people usually forget to take their clothes out too, wish i could see the look on their faces when they open the front door and their laundry is on their doorstep :)
"next thing we gotta do is put the washing machine on its back, very gently" lol i was waiting to see scrappy take off outta the bed of the truck, seeing as how she inspects all your scrap haha. Guess she already inspected and approved that load huh? Another great vid man, ty for the info.
I have a couple of dishwashers to pull the motors out of. Now that the "over $30 it's 10 days until we mail the check" is no longer, the non ferrous is going to be hot and furious for a bit.. Don't have that much stockpiled. 720# across the scale today with tin/light steel, $52, and near $42 for the nonferrous part. The garage was quite productive last week, and I left quite a bit behind on Saturdays run. No more on that ;) Keep scrappin!
One very important thing you fail to mention that round black thing on the side of the motor is the start run capacitor, you never ever walk across the two terminals on there unless you want to lose your life. One time I was donating a washing machine to charity as I was loading it up 10-15 dollars in change fell out of the bottom, that was the only time my wash machine paid me back, lol
Thank you! I have the same kind of Kitchen Aid washer and tryigng to figure out how to dismante without a sledge hammer and nuke. Any good experimental ideas for the motor gearbox ?
I never did the way u did start from inside and remove the plastic cap. I just beat the shit out of the until I get the motor but not I learned! thanks!
Marcel, are the motors worth more as scrap than complete washers, driers, fridges, and freezers? I think you alluded to that a couple videos ago - but I did not understand
how's it going "Hey There People"? I actually yanked my first washing machine motor in grade 5. i somehow figured it could be a go-kart motor. sadly they don't make extension cords long enough for my dreams. Shelly is yee of little faith!
You need Christmas ASAP make the conversation with family around November, like maybe I need some tools so your family can have an idea of what will be the perfect gift for you, get it, very simple
Keep calm and swear like a trucker 😅😅😅. Love the crickets in the background...nice summer day. Thanks Marcel, luv these old vids.❤❤❤
"Almost ready to come out, just about."
