    Every gymnast ever: "No one comes back after two babies and does full beam sets. Sure, you can do a cartwheel on tumble track, like maybe, but no way are you hitting competitive routines".
    Chellsie: "Hold my grips. And watch me nail a piked Arabian IN COMBINATION".

      It just goes to prove that the age issue is something coaches enforced! It has nothing to do with what the gymnasts wants and can do!

    • @JoleneDaviesITKWJ
      @JoleneDaviesITKWJ 4 роки тому +6

      @@fredrika27 yeah I never really thought about it... How the gymnasts got older and disappeared... I thought they wanted to slow down after such intense training and hitting their peak... But is it their peak?? Or is that just what they and the world has been told?? Years can bring beautiful maturity, grace and just the 'doing it for you' mental toughness to succeed at a high level... On your own terms... You're an adult so you can feel more confident in your own choices that you maybe didn't feel as a teenager in that world.

    I have often wondered what if someone came back, just like this, how would they do? I honestly think maturity that comes with, life growth, is a big factor. It's just something that comes with age. Maybe, this is a first step for big changes to come? Congratulations, this is what gymnastics needs... More awesome comebacks, from amazing gymnasts! Thanks for sharing, this is exciting to watch!

    Well done! I had to leave gymnasts at 31 because my gym no longer allowed adults to practice. I really miss the conditioning! I'm 54yo and belong to the Diane Durham generation. We had fewer difficult skills then, but we were very elegant! I hope for future generations gyms don't force gymnasts out based on a technicality! There are now so many who want to keep going after they leave their clubs, college or high school! Best of luck!!!

    Once a gymnast, always a gymnast. It never leaves your blood. I'm in my 50's and I'm still doing beam routines in my head at night. Don't let anyone tell you that you CAN'T do this. You are an inspiration!

    Seeing you doing so well brings tears to my eyes. You have always been an incredible gymnast! But to see you throwing these crazy skills fills my heart with such joy and hope. I struggle just to walk mainly because of multiple chronic illnesses and seeing you at 31 throwing Arabians on beam like its nothing is a huge inspiration. Please dont burn yourself out though. I know i have to be so careful with my body because one wrong move will pop my hip out. Treat your body with the love and respect it deserves and im sure youll go far. Chelsie for 2021!

    Beam is the often the most challenging piece of apparatus in gymnastics. Many things can go wrong for even the best gymnast. I think it's a great place to start for Chellsie! I'm super excited for her and I hope she will eventually be able to regain all her skills and show that anything is possible!

    • @sethescope
      @sethescope Рік тому

      old comment but this does remind me of the perspective I take when watching beam; like you said, things happen TO gymnasts on beam instead of gymnasts necessarily struggling (obviously it's a weaker event for some, sometimes people don't focus as much energy on it, etc), so when people fall on beam, I think of it as the beam taking victims lol
      I like to think beam is less of a competition between gymnasts and instead a competition between each gymnast and the beam itself lol

    You are just so cool. It's video's like these that make me feel very thankful for being alive in the time of internet and youtube. It's a real privilege to be able to take a look into the training process of any professional athlete or musician (I'm an opera singer myself so i can sort of relate to the intense training schedules), but it feels almost surreal when it's someone of your caliber. Your style is it for me, powerful and absolutely stunning to watch. Thank you so much for sharing this Chellsie. immediately subscribed and you deserve all the good in the world. Greetings from the Netherlands!

    I feel like this is an early birthday present for me because of how much I absolutely LOVE Chelsea Memmel’s gymnastics! She’ll always be in my Top 3 favorite gymnasts of all time along with Dominique Moceanu and Simone Biles. For me it doesn’t matter if these exercises are for serious competition or just a hobby as it’s inspirational in seeing her defy age metrics by using sheer will, wisdom, talent and strength to see what her body can do. It’s apparent her muscle memory is still there by how well she’s performing these skills. Thank you Chelsea you are amazing!!! 🙏🏼💙☺️

I've never been a gymnast myself, just a huge gymnastics fan, so it's fascinating for me to see what training looks like! Can I ask - what is the purpose of the drill where you hop down the blue and white track in various ways and then do the front tuck at the end? Is it just to build endurance?

    • @jessienorwood7893
      @jessienorwood7893 4 роки тому +8
