    When Bugs and LeBron met up to gather up the rest of the Tunes, it instantly reminded me of the 2011 Muppets movie. The leader of the group (Bugs/Kermit) is the only one left, now he and an outsider (Walter/LeBron) have to round up the old squad through a montage to do something they did decades ago (basketball/variety show) to save their old home (Tune World/Muppet Theater).
    Not complaining ago. This movie was dope. I don’t care what anyone says. 🤣

      Yep. Take out all of the basketball, make that the premise, and that would be a really cool movie paying true homage to the Looney Tunes.

      @@Kenjionigod personally I'm not a huge fan of either Wreck It Ralph movies the first one was okay and it's cameo's weren't distracting but it's sequel was bad in my opinion Ralph was annoying and clingy and the internet part felt like an advertisement for Disney and I'm not really a Space Jam fan either sense the Basketball part of it is a turn off for me and I think Loony Tunes Back In Action is better than both Space Jam movies and sense it's already been brought up I think it's better than both Wreck Ralph movies too.

    Seeing them put so much focus on a wholesome "be yourself" moral makes the original seem so much funnier in hindsight. Michael Jordan didn't learn a moral. He learned he was too good at basketball to retire so soon.

      You mean unlike Labron who so desperately wants to be MJ so very very bad...Clearly he ain't that good at basketball if he has to pathetically keep changing teams.....Atleast MJ played on the same team his entire career instead of changing teams every time he didn't get a championship...Its even more hilarious that he's such an MJ stalker he had to have number 23 on the Lakers, until people made fun of him changing it to 6

    I might be stretching a lot, but I feel like they portrayed Bugs Bunny a lot better than in the first Space Jam. Something about him seemed different in this film. Like when Lebron first came to Tune World, Bugs seemed overjoyed to have another toon to do gags with since all the other toons left to other worlds not wanting to be who they were. Bugs seemed to have been alone for some time, and his mission was to bring back his family (which he did in the end but without sacrificing himself). I mean he even considered Lebron as family since he was the first toon he played with in a while. Heck Bugs seems to have more heart in this film than he usually does. I just wished they went a little more deep into Bugs' story. But again, I could be stretching so much for a Looney Tunes movie 😂

I feel like some people have forgotten how to just have fun with movies sometimes or to just simply enjoy something for what it is instead of what it isn't, and realize that just because a movie or TV show is flawed or have some problems within it doesn't mean you still can't love or enjoy it despite those flaws. Not everything always have to be some sort of masterpiece of film /media or like some kind of ultra blockbuster, Oscar worthy, high claimed movie in order for it to be consider good or just a nice fun enjoyable mess of entertainment to lose yourself in.

    Dude, they brought out the nun from "The Devils" (which is a horror movie that Warner Bros. doesn't want to acknowledge unless it's for a family friendly movie it seems) the weirder and more obscure things are it seems that it'll be in one of these massive crossover movies.

  • @emilyplunkett6034
    @emilyplunkett6034 3 роки тому +2

    The thing about the whole movie cameo thing is that that's always been a thing in the almost 90 year history of Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies. The OG shorts were basically music videos for the newest popular songs of the day, shorts like "Have You Got Any Castles?" and "Book Revue" that were all about dropping pop-culture references into books, and then there are countless name drops of Warner Brothers stars of the day of these classic shorts that SO many kids - and, let's face it, grown-ass adults at this point - only know from these classic Looney Tunes cartoons. This is a tradition that was passed on to Tiny Tunes, and to Animaniacs, and now to new Space Jam movies. Probably the only problem I see with how they were handled in the movie is that they're so blatent and couldn't entire be appreciated for subtle jabs they've generally been in the past. That said, there's going to be a whole group of young kids coming up now whose first exposure to Mad Max will be because of Wile E. and the Roadrunner. To quote an inappropriate property to the film, this is the way.

      I just felt that more when people were comparing the Space Jam movies, which I totally understand, but as someone who loves Looney Tunes, I wish we could see them in their natural element like the new HBO Max shorts. But then again, using the "Space Jam" premise is the reason this movie got made. I doubt they would have made a Looney Tunes movie on its own.

      @@BlackNerdComedy that is true. but if tom and jerry can have all those crossover movies (including wizard of oz lol), same with the flintstones and scooby-doo, there has to be a market for the looney tunes to have their own standalone movie away from basketball, you know? i still love your idea about melding old movies with the looney tunes, i could really envision that. and think it would be a good, but sly, way of (re)introducing the masses to these older movies that were around the same time looney tunes were...which could also be a plot point!

Glad to know not everyone took it too seriously. Even the original Space Jam is divisive and has a weird reputation with people making it a cult classic. This sequel was a harmless piece of junk food in the end.

    This is why I respect your reviews so much, regardless of whether or not I agree with them - you're fair about how you review movies and aren't afraid to put out unpopular opinions about them. This is a perfect example of that: you acknowledge that the movie isn't good and that there are plenty of legit reasons to not like it and you don't shame people who don't like it but you also don't shy away from telling us how much you enjoyed the movie despite (or possibly because of) it's problems. You show respect to others and that gets you respected in return.
    EDIT: I do completely agree that the Looney Tunes traveling around and making mischief in other WB properties for an entire movie would be a lot of fun IF they do it the right way. I'm thinking something along the lines of how Kingdom Hearts links all of the different classic Disney IPs into a unified narrative, but maybe not quite so dark and depressing? There is definitely some serious potential there, though.
