I realize this is an old video, but I'm just getting back into the RC gliders again and happen to have this very Tx.....regarding the momentary switch you added for launching, is there an open port inside the radio for those wires??? Also, would you have that model file available online?
Hello Pierre, Congratulations on your recent win. I have been watching your videos the last few days and its funny you recommend what works best for each pilot as everybody's style of flying is different and they need to know what works best for them. I have been trying to teach others to get out and spend time with there gliders in dead calm air with a stop watch for years but they just don't get it. Also some gliders work better with camber and actually some don't. Recommended starting points or other pilots settings are OK for a starting point however I will have to agree what works best for the individual pilot they will just have to figure out. The last time I went after a championship I would fly 4 hours a day (2 at sunup and 2 at sundown) in the worst conditions rain or shine and working a full time job. I would set up a winch in the headlights of the car and start flying as soon as there was enough twilight. CG is also very important as .2 grams can either gain 5 or 10 seconds here or there or loose time just the same. The cool thing at the site, there was a road next to the field with a 35 MPH zone and those particular gliders minimum sink was the same speed as the cars traveling (I figured it would have been slower). Those were good times. Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing your progress. Pat
Hello, I'm trying to decide which radio to get for DLG. Are sliders important? I was looking at the QX7 but it doesn't have sliders. Can you use the throttle as a slider?
Hi Pierre, loving your videos !! How did you fit the momentary switch you preset to your initial launch mode? You mention it’s from a computer mouse? Did you replace an existing physical switch? I’ve scoured the internet but can’t find anything in this?
Hello again Pierre, I know I have heard you talk about it perhaps on a different video?? But, which FrySky receiver(s) do you use with your DLG setups? D4R-II ? Thanks!
Good explanation but this has nothing to do with Taranis radio as in the titel. For that matter, it could be any transmitter (well most with sliders). A bit misleading. However, if you have the actual programming of the Taranis radio available, i would greatly appreciated. Just moved to frsky from JR. Steep learning curve when it comes to DLGs.

Excellent Pierre. Good informative video. If you could now do a follow up showing, talking about your flying and when you decide/use each flight mode.
it's in my plan ;)

Dear Pierre, I love your DLG work and I have a simple question for you... what is the best receiver to use compatible with the Taranis plus and F3k?
RX4R or RX6R
Hi, Where can I purchase the orange rings U have around U’r sticks ???
the red thing is paint and the thumb "bump " is home made
Hello Pierre, Can you show us how do you create your mixes and switches on the radio and also how you did/modify the button
FreeFlyFPV yes in the future
Nice! It would be better it you showed it on glider, rather than explaining with hands. xD
yes may be for some things but not for some others things
You fly mode 1 ?
Martin Sneezy yes
Hello, can you please tell me how to set the timer so it will start at 0:00 each I hit the launch preset then counting up, on the Taranis X9d?
hello yes , you set a timer on ON and you go in special fonction and select your preset switch to the function of reset timer
Thank you Pierre! That was easy. It was one of the last things I needed to set up. I love the Taranis open tx.
Brilliant.
Hey man what are you using for hold your radio at launch?
hi , I use neoprene on the back an shaped hard balsa on the round part arround the sticks .
is the clicker botton home made?
Yes I modded the taranis To put this button
Pierre, thanks for sharing your set up! How did you create the raised blob for your left thumb? Is that clay?
hello , you are welcome ;) this blob is made from hard balsa sended to the right shape and painted

hello , Yes I am using the D4R-II since 4 years now and two of the ones I currently use are 4 years old ^^ solid as rock
Excellent! Thanks for the quick response.
Have you used any other FrSky receivers for DLG?
you are welcome , yes X4R and X6R but always back to D4R-II

Hey Pierre, what receiver are you using with the X9D?
hello , I currently use D4R-II but I am testing G-RX6 and RX6R
D4R-II has telemetry right? Altitude, voltage?
@@bigtreeproductions yes for altitude you need to add a sensor
@@pierremeunier what sensors do you recommend? Do you use vario?
@@bigtreeproductions FRSKY vario , I only use it when I want to check my launch altitude . otherwise it stay in the box .
