Just a quick edit to the procedure...if you are only replacing the cable you do not need to completely remove the latch mechanism from within the door (still need to unbolt it so you can get it closer to you). Nor do you need to remove ANYTHING from the door jamb latch mechanism other than the cable itself. You will need some form of long nose plyers to easly release the cable connectors from each mechanism (you''ll understand when you get to this part of the procedure). Looking at your new cable connectors will provide insight. Took me an hour start to finish.
You never showed how to remove the old cable and install the new cable on the latch. I want to know if I have to remove the latch just to change the cable.
Thanks, this was helpful for seeing the inside workings. I found the cable Dorman 924-360 for 07-09 NBS sierra/silverado on amazon for $18! Reviewers have said it doesn't fit 2010 and newer because they use a longer cable but a few with 08 said it fit for them. Maybe they updated it on the 2010+ because the shorter ones were breaking? Anyway, hope this helps someone.
also do not force this cable like he is doing , put the round end of the cable into position... you will see there is a slot in the plastic frame put the cable down through this slot and then clip the cable into place, very simple .I also sprayed the window tracks with lithium grease ,no more squeaking, window goes up and down much better
My plastic bracket broke and the ball kept slipping out making my inside handle not work. I drilled 2 holes in the plastic and used some wire to tie it down where the bracket was. To bad we cant post pics.
Hey whats the part number? Have being trying to find a replacement for my 2008 GMC denali, but all that come up are very short in length. I need the exact one you have.
This was very helpful.
I couldn't find a video that showed how to put the cable on the latch unil I found your video.
Thanks!

How did you get the old cable end off of the door handle? I'm about ready to just snap it off is that the only option?
I found it to be easy to remove the bolt that hold the window track at the bottom of the door it gives you more room and it that's 1 minute
Tod T. If u remove it does it happens anything to the window dont want it to fall and breaks lol

Terrible video. Too hard to follow because of the in and out of the camera and the demonstrators limited vocabulary.
Charles Holmes fuck off
Did you have to buy the whole assembly or just the cable?
Never mind, read the other post. Thanks for the video
