    Really good video! I’ve been looking at these and I noticed they come in two spout sizes. Is this the 1” or 5/8”? I’m guessing the 1”. How does that size spout work when filling smaller equipment, like weed eaters?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  5 років тому +4

      Thank you! I have the 1" spout and it works fine for filling up my mowers. I haven't tried it for mix fuel yet. The valve is very precise, so I think it would work good on the small fuel tanks.

    One of the best gas cans available. I have left mine in the cage on my trailer year round for the past six years. The paint has faded, there is light rust on the silver handle on the 2.5 gallon can. Both the 5 gal , and the 2.5 gal cans function exactly the same way as they did when they were new. I will only purchase this brand, in fact I received more two 5 gal cans today. They are well worth the money.

    You sold me! My less than a year old FuelWorx gas can just had the push button vent collapse. Going with the 40 dollar FuelWorx, I knew it was only as good as the vent construction.
    The Justrite is expensive but dumping that fuel in 1 minute is as fast as the FuelWorx and from looking at the construction, should last for years.
    Nice review!

    Also they make them in smaller cans as we use them at Chrysler to keep special solvents in used in various parts of the plant. These are the only type of cans we allowed to use. And also have to be stored in flammable liquid compliant cabinets.

      Flammable lockers are industry standard so ALL such cans would be stored therein. I store mine outside my structures in old steel lockers because fuel (and propane and acetylene and carb cleaner etc etc) do not belong indoors. Ask any firefighter about home fire hazards and they'll concur.

    Very good video. Your video was the best over all explaining and showing the details about it. It explained this gas can very well and how to use it. However you left out 2 things out. They also sell a slightly smaller spout made for this gas can that will fit into an automobile gas filler opening. Their gas cans are also made out galvanized steel which will not rust like the cheaper metal gas cans which helps make it well worth the extra cost over the cheaper metal cans.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder

    That 5 gallon can comes in two nozzle sizes, 1" and 5/8". If you intend on filling cars, I recommend the smaller 5/8' nozzle that fits inside the filler neck (part number 7250120). I didn't know this when I bought my can and bought the smaller nozzle separately for an extra $18.

      Galvanized steel, hands down. I have an old Eagle 5 gallon can I wish was still available, simple NO SPILL flexible spout, simple plastic vent. Every one of the "safe" spouts makes me spill gas. My gas can is over 20 years old and still holds pressure when I open the vent.

    • @bryangrim6021
      @bryangrim6021 2 роки тому

      Hands down my favorite is the Wavian Jerry can. I use these for both long-term storage and dispensing fuel directly into equipment. You can get nozzles that allow fast fluid transfer while venting, or don’t use any nozzle at all I just use a funnel and the venting is still built right in just like the standard NATO military cans. I do like the cans featured in this video and I may invest in some of these in the future. The standard Jerry can format works well for me with maximizing storage space a little better than round cans do. I also found some of my dad‘s old metal gas cans and plan to see what is needed, if anything, with their restoration and possibly put those back into service. That’s sort of what started all this. I really missed the old fashion metal gas cans and was incredibly sick and tired of the government regulated spouts on many of the plastic cans out there.

    Another test you could add in is filling a motorcycle. I have one of those crappy plastic cans with the safety lock on the spout. I cannot easily use it to fill my street glide. I used to own one of those crappy cans too. It annoyed me so much, I started investing in better cans, and now enjoy trying to find the best one. I used to own a dirt bike and a street bike and I can say with certainty, that this would work well for that. The more I think about it, I used to own a mini bikes growing up, so I was constantly filling it with gas. If you get this can, you won't regret it.

    I bought one despite the price doubling from 2 years ago thanks to insane inflation. The fill port does not have a latch to keep it open. Very awkward to hold the can between your legs so it doesn’t fall over while opening the spring loaded latch to insert the pump nozzle .

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  16 днів тому

      That heavy spring is what allows the air to escape (burp for lack of a better term) if it's half full and stored outside in the sun. The lid also keeps it from leaking if the can tips over.
      I'm able to push the lid open with one hand while I insert the gas pump nozzle into the can. The spring pushes pretty hard against the nozzle, but it works for filling.
      I would like to see a better way, but this is the best fuel can of all the ones that I've tested. It's a breeze for filling up my mower, especially compared to some of the cheap plastic ones.
