Used Race Car Search Begins! Winters Performance Quick Change Damage

- Tonight we begin stripping down our Winters Performance quick change differential. Before the garage work started, Drew and I made a trip to visit a friend selling a Club 29 car. During our visit he also let us check out his new MB Custom that will hit the track next year. Finding the right dirt late model to move forward with has been a challenge so far. Make sure to keep up with new uploads as the search will continue until a decision is made! Thanks for watching!
In this area, running 602/604 you'll get by well with a used Rocket/Club 29 or Swartz. With the exception of less than a handful, most are running on 2-5 year old chassis and its untelling how old shocks and all that are.
Gonna see how our new Rocket treats us this year. Thanks for watching!
Or Marshall green
😎
On the Warrior there decent cars, I’d probably go that route, that way you have a new car with the latest technology. Yes it’s more work, the only question is how much tech set up help they would give if you just bought the chassis? The problem is cost, nothing in racing is cheep, complete TB cars are going for 15 to 18k, this is a stock chassis car. My concern as a racer is without some tech or dealer support then it’s a steep learning curve. The older cars can work, but at least going with new up to date chassis, gives you the best chance to run up front. Repairing the QC and hubs you have and building out the chassis will give you the best car, sometimes working class racers have to put in more work to make up for lack of dollars
Hoosier says LM40's and 1350's are gonna run 249.99 this year. That's 1k to outfit a car to race for 500.00 bucks. Something is gonna have to give this year.
@@LateModelGarage yes that’s a mess, prices on all materials is outrageous, example I picked up some tubing to add a couple of bars to our car 12’ was $88 for 1 1/2 .095. The aluminum sheets are $30 more per sheet. Our stock chassis cars are not inexpensive to build, but we will have rage opportunity to run an 11 race series that is within a 2 1/2 radius “ that is the longest haul” for minimum of $1000 to win, regular purses is between $250, to $500 depending on the track. Our home track pays $400 to win.
Call Hank at capital he'll fix you right up
Not sure we can run with Hank or Marshall at Capital. We would love to talk with him but don't think we are ready to make a move like that.
Kryptonite lol
Well we settled for a Rocket. Time will tell...
Kryptonite race cars hands down best support out there and the car handles great best I’ve ever driven
Do you know how long they have been making cars?
@@LateModelGarage about ten years
Cut that bearing off junk anyways along with tube
That entire side of the tube has issues. The axle will not pull out...
@@LateModelGarage look cut the dam Alumimum tube and the axle will slide out with it I got more time building race cars and fixing them than you to put together
I would go with a Capitol or a longhorn
Searching each day.
I would go with a newer Mastersbilt if I were you. Maybe 2016 or newer. They have great support plus in the 602 class you don't need the latest and greatest.
There are several newer Mastersbilt cars in our area. We are trying to setup time to look at as many as possible.
You know what our Asphalt Whelen tour modified chassis cost bare 14,000 102,000 turn key
Shoooweeee. We hope you race for more than 800.00 a night!
@@LateModelGarage yes 1500.00
@@LateModelGarage and 10,000 and 20,000 shows
Maybe down grade to a more reasonable class to run that doesn’t take all that money to be competitive, no offense at all, keep up the hard work fellas!!
We have run lower classes with even tighter budgets. Late model racing has forced us to step up our game and our budget. Like all things high performance you have to study hard and do your homework before investing.
capital
👍👀🐱🏍
A grade 8 bolt will shear off easy a grade 5 bolt will not
Interesting. Any thoughts on traditional bolt heads verses allan?
Buy a new chassis
Few more weeks of looking and learning. We are trying to balance our time, budget, and goals with the holidays.
