I really appreciate how you teach people about the smaller parts of F1. The elements that aren't talked about and few know about. Keep going and keep enlightening the community with knowledge Matt 😊
Thank you a lot. We are about to do a racetrack design for our final year project and videos like these helps a lot when there are less research journals available. It would also be great if you could do a video on the racetrack pavements 😅
Hi, quick question: What study are you doing or what kind of course in which you design a racetrack? Something with engineering or more like spatial planning and architecture?
every time i pull up a new vid from you i see subscribers and it blows my mind. no other f1 youtuber makes the videos you make and talks about the stuff you do WITH in person examples. this deserves to be one of the top channels in the f1 space
I always wondered if someone like Jim Clark, who died way before F1 became complex and sophisticated, could visit a racing facility today and be given a tour of an entire race weekend, with tracks he knew and everything else. No doubt it would be mind blowing.
Never seen this channel before, but am very into Formula 1, the algorithm worked for a change! And this was massivly enjoyable and informative, and different, much better than all the junk AI stuff that the algorithm suggests I watch! Nice work! :D
I paint roads in England as my job. It's my dream to be employed to paint racetracks. I'm hoping after a few more years of experience I can apply for a job lining circuits
I always wondered why tracks looked pretty clean other than street tracks. They always looked like it’s just rained and someone was out there scrubbing it clean. I always wondered if someone went out there to repaint everything but I thought, nahh no way…. Guess I was wrong lol. Still interesting that track limits are usually always painted to exact specifications, but George Russell couldn’t even have breakfast so he could qualify and keep his win at spa.
Anyone who works in the event industry can tell you how much work it is. A Festival for 50000 visitors easily has 500 people working simulatiously on it. (Deichbrand Festival in Germany for example had 6000 visitors and ~3500 people working on it over the 6 weeks it takes to build and dismantle everything, my company peaked at ~120 people on site) Source: i work in the event industry.
Remember. There are a lot of odd and fun jobs like these around the world. Someone has to do them at the end of the day. If you just start looking for these "hidden/not well known" jobs, you might just find something that speaks to you in particular.
Please tone down the silly loud paint jobs the FIA thinks are wonderful. They are distracting and annoying as hell. France GP was a complete joke. Were they going for style? Hell they gave me vertigo and I could not watch the race. Come to find out, there were many people who also suffered vertigo as well. Tone the stuff down FIA. It’s racing, not an art display.
I'm not a fan of the paint at Paul Ricard either but the paint is actually there for a reason. Because there isn't any traditional run-off areas over there, they paint the outsides so that if a car goes off, the paint will slow the car down before hitting a barrier. The more further from the track, the gripper the paint is. If Paul Ricard had traditional run-off areas then obviously the outside paint wouldn't be there. The FIA is not going to put something on track just for the sake of art. It's there for a reason.
Really interesting video with surprising details considering the answer is "with paint"!

The vibe in interview and b-rolls remind me of Tom Scott's video. Really like this format.
I'm glad that i'm not the only one to notice
Great work buddy.. Appreciate your efforts from India
Always a good day when a Matt Amys video drops!
Also, my friend's dad Drew works for RoadGrip 🙃
That is so cool to see that the behind the scenes with F1
just finished painting my house for the day and now I'm watching something about painting... it never ends 💀
Lovely insight into this essential area of F1 track preparation.
Spa looked phenomenal. I have some fabulous photos

I've always wondered this, and now I know. Thank you Matt
Absolutely intrigued 👏👏 It’s Matt talking about paint
I continue to be amazed at your videos quality of information and content.
Awesome info. The job looks so satisfying

How is it not raining?
We had to wait hours for like 10 minutes of sunshine for filming 😂

My local council requires to see this video, they cannot paint a line for neither love nor money...

Wow a lot goes into painting when it comes to F1
Anyone else wanna see how f1 suits r made?
I wanted to see how they do the Blue to Green gradient of the Aramco logo background.
I am surprised FOM did not give you a copyright strike for daring to use footage of a racetrack where Formula cars drives.
For what it's worth, UA-cam didn't send me a notification despite having notifications set to "All."
Very interesting!

Wondering if I can get a can of this to paint lines in my driveway...haha

Chiaramente prodotto italiano, goes without saying
I just found my dream job 😊
Yes, Formula 1 demands that everything be perfect. Gee, I wonder if they could make the racing more interesting and competitive.
Do they intentionally use slick paint for the lines? Could they not use grippy paint like they do on roads?
We out here painting our planet as the universe continues to inflate inexplicably
Do a video on why Monaco keeps coming back every year but Hockenheim cannot get a race
Would love to know the cost, that is a lot of paint and a lot of man hours.
what a cool job. probably charge 500k for that at least
Es tan corto el tiempo qué hay una cortina que no deja ver cómo se hace el trabajo
Who paid for the paint of track? Fia ? Liberty Media ? Or spa track ?
The track organisers
they do it of money

Sad, that a lot of spectators at home think, this is just CGI.

"FIA approved paint" yet they still allow curbs that can throw cars in air
hmmmmm
I kind of want that paint now haha 😅
