Thanks for your visit Emily, Do let me know when you plan to visit again so I can take you to nearby Motuan villages to try some traditional food and show you around the coastal villages to some traditional site etc.... Again Thanks for the visit, sorry for the cold though, it's certainly ruined your trip I guess 😔❣

@BrixxisCreations I lived in several countries in different continents. Trust me. POM is the worse city for NON pngr. You will never ever see a Europeand girl walking down a street in POM. Hence, not even a white man, although very rarely you see one. And YES it's a terrible city in general. Go to wildlife morata, or Hanubada and you will see how people live and sleep on top of garbage.

Your tour guide lacks the most basic understanding of Papua New Guinea culture. She lacks awareness of the PNG Melanesian culture and the diversity thereof. She has never been to other parts of PNG. She is feeding you inaccurate information about PNG. She is definitely not recommended tour guide.
Nevertheless, hope you enjoyed your stay in PNG.

Rachael is not a wealth of information, she doesn't seem to know anything about Papua New Guinea. She is an embarrassment and full if negetivty. What is this about Highlands and Coastal, talk about Papua New Guinea and the beautiful things this country offers. The tour guide is scaring the tourists away by giving misleading informations.
Its good for tourists to get more information and do proper arrangements before coming here to really enjoy your tour in this great country of ours.
Thank you Emily for your visit and God bless.

Your friend or tour guide doesn't have alot of knowledge on the buildings. Pineapple building is where the Prime Ministers Office is located, and it's not the pineapple building anymore. Her explanation is doesn't reflect Papua New Guinea. Too many assumptions on her explanation and generalization. From where she comes from, which is Central Province, they demand brideprice

come on.... not everything your guide is telling is true!!! if you really want to experience PNG, you godda travel out of Port Moresby. Port Moresby is a city, where you would see, eat and do things you'd normally do back home. If you wanted a real adventure, I suggest perhaps maybe traveling to Lae, Morobe Province next time. where the highway connects you to more than one Province. where you can see and experience diverse culture. Also, the best time be in Papua New Guinea would be September 16th, our Independence Day. When the celebrations are out of this world!

Pineapple building was built among many pineapples back in the day. There was a gardener who maintained the big pineapple plants around the building. These pineapples were harvested and given to the workers. There weren't any fences back then, too. Hence, the design and name it's known today.

Your tour guide Rachel is an opportunist. She doesn't know any history of her country PNG. A pathetic lady.

There are many wonderful friendly Papua New Guineans who would gladly make your stay a real PNG experience..Rachael is from the coast where they are mostly timid and less charismatic..visit the Highlands the next time u happen to come to PNG..

Hey, I have so many questions about your travel journey.
    1) Are you rich?
    2) If you're not rich, then how do you manage your expenses?
    3) If you have a job, how do you manage both your job and your travel hobby?
    4) Could you give me one piece of advice on how to start traveling?

Hi Emily, thankyou so much for the visit, great to see you enjoying some of the local cuisine, some of which has an acuired taste. It takes a lot to leave home and travel to a different place, experience different culture and people hence hats off to you. To the local guide and others, please ensure accurate information is given/stated as you become ambassadors to your country, dont just blatantly say things, if you are unsure, be honest. Apart from that, loved your travel doco Emily, keep em coming🫂

Emily! Your friend doesn't know enough about everything. I think you're already aware of that. Atleast she keeps you company.

Tour guide seems to be an introvert or from outside Port Moresby so almost all her information is inaccurate.
But anyway, thanks for Visiting Port Moresby ❤

The tour guide, was not actually a proper pick....That is just a sales lady that sells pies in the Airport area, who clearly doesn't know too much about the diversity of the different cultures n people in PNG...

Better to check our Couch surfing hosts in Port Moresby and elsewhere in the provinces who would offer you a more realistic impression of life in PNG.
Too bad you landed someone who was completely uncultured and who obviously doesnt read wide enough to give you a accurate impression of what Papua New Guinea.
