Back in the early 90's, my elderly father had injured his shin, but over the weeks afterwards, it would not heal. A Chinese friend, originally from Kelang in Malasia, came to visit my father with me, and asked to look around his garden. She found some comfrey and made him a poultice: his shin healed within days.

I recently made a comfrey salve. I chopped the leaves, dehydrated them, put them in a slow cooker with olive oil, did this twice, to double infuse the oil, mixed in beeswax and vit E oil for a preservative and put them in little canning jars. My joints feel so much better. I healed a horribly stoved toe in 3 days. Love comfrey!

I just divided one of my Comfrey plants into 12 new plants. My chickens love it. I'm making the Comfrey liquid fertilizer right now. I also use the leaves as a green mulch in my raised beds. It's a miracle worker.

We should all grow comfrey. We could never stop learning about the amount of uses this single plant has. We are busy testing out a mixture of compost using comfrey because of the large leaves which are so loaded with nutrients. We will share results on our page and will report back how it turned out. Great video, thanks for the extra knowledge🤓

Never apply a comfrey poultice to an unclean wound. It will heal so fast you'll trap the gunk inside you :)

I saw a you tube video that claimed it helped prevent blossom end rot. They threw a few leaves in bottom of mater hole when they planted it in garden. I noticed a clump of it while I was planting some mater's yesterday. Yeap I threw few leaves in with em . I also flagged the plant so it wouldn't get chopped down 😎

I'm sold! I have an area in my (large) garden that's not being used, and this sounds like the ideal thing to grow as a source for great compost, for the areas I am using. Thank you! Just one question - if comfrey sucks up so many nutrients, how does the comfrey itself need to be fed? This is the first year I've had a garden, so I still have a lot to learn.

Is it safe to add comfrey to a worm bin red wigglers? Seems like a good way to add more nutrients to my worm castings.

Yes. I’ve given my comfrey to my red wrigglers, my mealworms and to my chickens. They all seem to like it.

The only thing is if the comfrey is fresh is that it can heat up your bin while it decomposes.

Hi, many years ago I heard that comfrey tea was very good. I started looking for comfrey, in Phoenix I can't find neither seed or plants and no one seems to know about the plant benefits. So now I learned that you have to apply it. Where can I find a plant or seeds of comfrey? I would very much appreciated it if you could answer this very simple question. Thank you kindly for your attention. Have a nice day.

I have been searching for comfry plants/seeds for a while in SC but couldn't locate them either. I just found some over the weekend at a local farm we visited. Try checking with your local farms/any farm stores and hopefully someone grows it in your area that will share some with you.

I understand that people don't want the messy growth of comfrey when it is left growing, but I feel like comfrey is better capable to do its thing when not constantly cut? Anybody?

I bought some comfrey roots to grow and ended up with the type that has spines all over it. My long haired cat loves to rub up against the leaves and I have no idea how to get the fur off the leaves so I can use them fur free. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried picking it off, using a lint roller and washing but nothing gets it all off.
