Clogged Drain?! Digging Up Our Gray Water Drain, Any Plumbers Out There? WHAT is in this Drain?

Our water has been draining very slowly. It got slower and slower. Hot water and salt seemed to help for short term fixes. I used Liquid Plumber and that seemed to really have the opposite effect. From what I was told, the Liquid Plummer cleared the drain until it didn't. It basically moved the clog. We still don't know what this is in the drain. Soap scum and grease? If I was still making my own laundry soap, I would think that's what this is, but I haven't made my own laundry soap in about 5 years.The only recent change I've made is I've been using more powdered cleansers like Ajax and Comet. I wonder if that's what this is. It feels grainy, not greasy. Oh well, we dug the drain and have decided to leave it drain into a different area for now. We need to do a bit more digging and want to make sure the drain is cleared from the faucets down. Once again, though, I know how blessed we are that we're able to fix this ourselves. Did you ever figure out what it is? We've got the same issue. We've tried changing out our personal hygiene and cleaning products and it's still an issue. I do know we have a ton of metals and minerals in our water and I thought that might be the problem but it's only in the drain pipes that we have this issue. We're in NCPA.
