when you're daughter is bonking the fish I broke out laughing that was cute I have 2 of my own girls! one is 4 and the other 7 and my 4 year old would be the one with the club
Haha, yeah the oldest is 7 and middle one is now 5. The new youngest one is 2 months old. Actually both of them trade doing bonking. I think the younger was sleeping on the floor.
Thanks. LA peruse bank is the whole bank area I believe. The names used locally are not official but just given names to identify fishing spots I believe. South bank is kind of slightly south west of ukee out about 4 miles then you hit the bank. It is a very large area and you can't miss it.
@@msamychemen2466 thanks for asking, I have some stuff I need to edit from ocean fishing last year still. Some really nice stuff which should be a fun watch from Port Hardy, but I kind of lost the drive to edit during the whole Covid thing. Lack of ambition. I did not have a great trip this year to Ucluelet, it was super slow all week and I didn't film anything. I will try to make up for it will a bunch of content this fall and winter. I will make some river salmon fishing vids as well. Thanks for watching. Maybe some underwater salmon videos as well.
Thanks for the advice, but I have grown up on the water, on boats all my life. I have jumped into the water numerous times during the course of life without a life jacket and fortunately my ability to swim has not let me down yet. The law states the life jackets have to be in the boat. Wearing it is optional. I have never fallen out of a boat while fishing in 30+ years. I will wear a life jacket if fishing alone because I realize that's when a worse case scenario might not turn out well. But with other people in the boat I expect some help.
The old " I've been on the water all my life/can swim..." AND the "other people in the boat can help me" ... where to start?!?! Doc you seem like a nice guy and I enjoy your videos BUT as Bob said you should have it on in the boat. I have worked with CG and JRCC and will tell you many stories of those who thought as you did and are were dead wrong... actually just dead. One case husband fell overboard and wifr was unable to recover him in time. She did have to watch him drown. You maybe a good swimmer but that isnt worth much wearing clothes that will get wet and pull you down while your body gets hypothermic.... but your a doctor so you woknow more about that. Hope to see many more of your videos in future
@@mikeandroi2698 Thanks for your concern. I know I'm one of those people you're talking about but I doubt a fraction of them have the training and comfort in the water as I do. My brother did a backflip off my boat after catching a big chinook out there in the same spot the summer before. Not many people would do that. He survived by the way, no rescue needed. There are many people out there with no PFDs on, I'm not the only one. Falling overboard is not a common thing. How old was the husband / wife combo you were talking about where she watched him drown? For the record I have swam with all my clothes on in fresh water which would be harder then salt as part of the life saving classes I've done. I also know how to remove my pants in the water and turn them into a flotation device quickly. It's not very hard. I know everyone is at risk of dieing, even the most trained but I think they are less likely. I don't think many people out there have the swim training I do. I have done all the colors to White when they had color levels in swimming, then I did the top few numbers to 12, life saving I, II, III, Bronze Cross, Bronze Medallion, Competition swim training, Life guard training (the wife was trained in life guarding as well), SCUBA certified by PADI. So yes I 100% agree there is risk involved. I see that risk as small. When out alone I have started wearing a life jacket at all times. Especially after a fellow UA-camr died this summer that way. Unfortunately I've been doing this all my life. At this moment I'm not quite ready to change if I feel comfortable without one I'll make the choice not to wear it. To me my kayak fishing in Great White infested waters and spear fishing with a weight belt and no life jacket dragging around dead fish in those same sharky waters seems like more risk to me. Wouldn't you say. I've done a lot of things that people wouldn't even think of doing so in comparison not wearing a life jacket seems like a minor thing.
Nice fish!
Thanks

Hi Brandon, Love watching your videos almost everyday. Is south bank La Perouse Bank? Where is that in Ukee?
Thanks. LA peruse bank is the whole bank area I believe. The names used locally are not official but just given names to identify fishing spots I believe. South bank is kind of slightly south west of ukee out about 4 miles then you hit the bank. It is a very large area and you can't miss it.
Thank you so much. Do you have any new ocean fishing videos for this summer? I haven’t see. new ones posted for summer 2021

Where that little girl is beating that fish to death as quick and fast as she can , epic.
Haahaa, yeah I liked it too so made the cut haha!
where is your PFD?
It's in the boat. The yellow one on the drivers seat.
You should be wearing them at all time when ON the boat..wont help you if you fall in the water..
