I've been wondering for years why the companies producing affordable lenses haven't produced a super telephoto prime. I think this will be a great way into wildlife photography for many people.
It is super hard to use long telephotos without autofocus and image stabilization.
You can use this for landscapes on a tripod.
I have the Canon 100-500 (with AF and IS) and I still find it challenging to use. At 500mm and long distance atmospheric effects play a big role too.
Mainly because at 500mm the lack of quality glass coatings is a pain, and the lack of auto focus makes it almost unusable. If I was starting photography and had to use Manual telephotos I would probably give up in a sec.
@@Abarataphoto Utter BS. I've extensively used a Konica 400/5.6 on an A7II and with the support of focus magnifier with IBIS, it worked just fine (very pleasing imagery, wish I hadn't sold it in hindsight). Yes, AF is easier, but MF is far from being unusable if you don't shoot action and this lens is probably much lighter than that, too or AF can be just as frustrating if there is no action, but camera jumps to the background, etc.
@@p_adam19Absolutely! True MF telephoto lens actually even has its advantages, with delicate focus adjustments being possible.
@@matejphoto Yup -- I'd stick with my 300 mm f/2.8 VRII + 1.4 TC III combo for portable wildlife (and 400 mm 2.8 for using tripod). The lack of AF and VR would make capturing moving subjects almost impossible. However, for birdfeeder type of shots, this lens is good enough. I had a setup for using the 400 mm AF VR at home with a tripod for birdfeeders -- that was an overkill when the light was good (so a slow f stop could be used).
man ttartisans been stepping their game up lately wow..
Not in the image quality department, comparing last 3 years of releases QC also went down hill
We need good Lens in FujiFilm XF Mount
Will add X-mount for this lens later :)
Way to go TTArtisan! Finally third party MF telephotos arriving, a dream come true.
300mm F4 Macro 1:2 next, pretty please?
Got it, will consider that😉
Thanks SO much for even considering making telephoto lenses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have NO idea why it's taken this long for anyone to do this.
Please make a 300 f4.
Please make the foot on these lenses an Arca Swiss foot.
Please consider making fast f2.8 and f4 lenses please too.
Goooot it!
Please release for Fujifilm X Mount 😢😢😢😢
Lmfao APSC in 2023. Just get one inch phone and be done with it.
@@KonicaHexanon such a idiotic comment, same could be said about your MFT xD
Yup X-mount is coming soon~
@@KonicaHexanon APS-C is still great. You just need the good lenses for it, as with FF.
Why not for Fuji X ?
Coming soon
Bold move!
Very well done, I am seriously considering this since the price is so low!
What about portrait 75mm 1.4?
main question does it autofocus and also looks like mc stands for macro too.
i am waiting for the VR/OS version.
hello, I have a question, why don’t you have a lens for the GFX system, a 500mm f 6.3 lens, I really liked how super cool the photos of animals and the night sky come out, I’m just wondering when you might have one available for sale for the GFX system 😊❤❤❤
We have 11mm f2.8 and 90mm f1.25 for GFX, but not the 500mm for GFX yet. Will consider your opinion, thank you!
x-mount please
will it have a 2x ?
this lens working in sony a6400?
Can use with apsc?
Good health. Give such a phenomenal optical device to a village guy from the USSR.
I like the idea, but considering the price of this lens new vs a Sigma 150-600C 2nd hand, its hard to go for fully manual if you have easily for 2x the price a 150-600 6.3 lens with usable autofocus and somewhat "ok" (its bad...) stabiliser.
Please add M42 mount...
Wow
Please release for M4/3 mount
I use Canon, Please a ore EOS-F mount
looks like a great lens, but in my experience, in wildlife photography, you really need that AF because lots of happening within seconds and your hand is not gonna be fast enough to focus (my first wildlife lens was a manual one).
Yes, obviously anyone saying "thats a nice step into wildlife" has absolutely no clue about wildlife. The best thing i could do with this lens, on a tripod at a birdfeeder. But this birdfeeder better not move due to wind or so.
Its a nice addition and its somewhat affordable. But this thing seems too heavily cheaped out, especially considering i cheaped out too much by buying for example a Canon RF 800 F11 lens for the good stabiliser and light weight as well the price (700€ 2nd hand with lens hood)
Yeah I wonder how photographers shot wildlife before AF was even a thing.
Fuji x mount
This lens is very tempting for using on my Star Adventurer GTi but I'm dubious about the images you used to advertise this lens.
The image of Andromeda doesn't tally with a lens of this focal length, unless it is a mosaic, as you would not get the surrounding star field at 500mm.
I would say it fits, at least by checking it in the imaging toolbox (blackwater skies). When used on a full frame camera, yes its a very similar FoV. Its at worst slightly, very minimalistic bigger FoV in the video but barely noticable.
Also, andromeda galaxy is not in the center in this image, more room towards the cluster. Im pretty impressed especially the fact you can capture andromeda without a mosaic, but i stick to my 750mm F4 newton on APS-C instead since i prefer smaller targets.
Probably its as with zoom lenses typically, a 100-400 is like 100-385mm and my Sigma 150-600C is also about 145mm-570mm or so.
Yes, I’m sorry, but autofocus certainly didn’t stop me, I think many will support this idea, I wish you that you have many new lenses for all cases of shooting photography and that they are some of the best lenses at an affordable price, and I wish you many new developments, thank you very much, success in business 😊
please z-monut
