Such a huge loss. A truly gifted man with a voice that was gentle as was his music. He will not be forgotten. He is the LEGEND of Poco. Rest peacefully Rusty.
My wife Vicki Didier introduced me to Poco and after that we never missed a show in L A. Sometimes two in one night. Always a great show from Poco. Lots of memories. Thanks Rusty.
Kevin & I are stunned. It’s saw Poco at Iroquois Ampitheater in Louisville Ky on their Poco 7 tour. KEVIN HAS BOTH THE POCO HORSESHOE & Running Horse tattooed on his rib cage. ( how many groups have 2 badass logos?) WEVE prob seen Poco 7 or 8 times since last LP came out in 2013, I believe. And a strong case can be made that maybe this was the best Poco LP. WE LAST SAW THEM OCT 2019 in St Charles Mo., I believe. WE ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO Thanksgiving cause we knew Rusty would always have a POCO CONCERT AROUND THAT TIME. WEVE DRIVEN AS FAR AS 5 hrs to see the band, so we still have those memories. We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to Mary & the family. I FORGOT TO MENTION HOW OUTSTANDING RUSTYS SOLO ALBUM WAS. IM GLAD HE HAD A CHANCE TO RECORD IT AND SHARE IT WITH ALL OF US. THIS REALLY HURTS. RIP Rusty: YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN A LOT OF LIVES AND CHANGED THE COURSE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. Our hearts are broken tonite😢
This one's going to take a while to sink in. I've never been able to make it through listening to this song without getting a little choked up and now it hits me right in the heart. Another icon is gone.
I'm shocked! This is the first i've heard of the passing of Mr. Young. Such a great talent, Poco rocked! Heaven's gain is this world's loss. May God Comfort Mary and family. R.I.P. Rusty!
God bless you, Mary, Rusty was such an amazing musician, friend, and smiling kind of guy, he helped me maintain happiness for about 50 years! Rusty will be soley missed! RIP Rusty!
Love this band. Rustys music has always been a favorite of mine. His voice , amazing. So sorry to hear of his passing. Breaks my heart. At 71 I've been a longtime fan.
Good bye Rusty, and thank you. Your song was released when I was 12 yo. it was my first album purchased when I was 14 (saved up 50cent allwances for 2 years). Rediscovered you through this video 42 yrs later. I had never seen your face before. This vid has your family and friends. You lived good, you left good. RIP.
it brings tears...every time I here this song, it is one that really everyone can relate to....that "one love"...rare in a song to have that kind of effect R.I.P. Rusty Young
Sad that he is gone. I'm the same age, actually a little older. If I had any talent at all I would have been gone long ago, glad I didn't. The life of a performing musician is a hard one - just brutal on the body, and mind as well. They give, we receive. We can be thankful.
This is so special. I could listen to his soft and perfect voice all day. I will miss him and be forever grateful to him for his kindness, love, and support as my neighbor when I truly needed it the most. I don't think I will ever know anyone quite like him again.
Tonight I'm gonna break away Just you wait and see I'll never be imprisoned by A faded memory Just when I think I'm over her This broken heart will mend I hear her name and I have to cry The tears come down again It happens all the time This crazy love of mine Wraps around my heart Refusing to unwind Ooh-ooh, crazy love, ah Count the stars in a summer sky That fall without a sound And then pretend that you can't hear These teardrops coming down It happens all the time This crazy love of mine Wraps around my heart Refusing to unwind Ooh-ooh, crazy love, ah Tonight I'm gonna break away
Poco was one of the most talented and underrated bands EVER; the mere fact you had to say Rusty Young of Poco; says just that fact. Do you have to say Rodger Waters of Pink Floyd or Jimmy Page of LZ hell no!!!! This is a band that had Randy Meisner and TBS of the Eagles. OMG!!!!
I just absolutely love this recording. Kirk, thanks so much for posting it. It is so cool to see a performer who has been central to the music I love for my entire life (Rusty Young) performing one of my favorite songs with so many contemporary musicians that I love (Cindy Alexander, Crazy rocker chick Ali Handel, Dave's wife - the incredible Brie Darling, Scout, and I think that's Paul Trudeau hanging out in the back). I think I recognize a few of the others, but I'm just not sure. Could someone please post some credits here so I have some new musicians to check out?
el kalabaw Rusty wrote it and sang it. He wrote most of the songs on “Legend,” too. He also wrote “Rose of Cimarron,” which Paul and Tim sang (although there’s a new Poco version with Rusty on lead vocals with Chelsea Williams.
The most gentle and sweetest voice that just makes you feel good..
Rip Rusty.....you were pure class..
We miss you Rusty. Thanks for the gift of your music. Peace!
Rusty Young had such a wonderful voice. POCO should be in the HOF. Rest in peace.
RIP Rusty... Your music will live on forever....Thank you !

Rusty has always been a hero. Such a sudden and tragic loss. My heart goes to Mary and the family. Good to see Chelsea and Cindy in this video.

What a nice session and video. With all the young people in the chorus, including Richie's daugther Jesse Furay Lynch.

Lovely song and lovely Poco !
Hard to believe, gone one year. Requiescat in Pace, Rusty.

I always knew Rusty played an awesome pedal steel, but never knew he could sing so well.

Thank you
Tonight I'm gonna break away
Just you wait and see
I'll never be imprisoned by
A faded memory
Just when I think I'm over her
This broken heart will mend
I hear her name and I have to cry
The tears come down again
It happens all the time
This crazy love of mine
Wraps around my heart
Refusing to unwind
Ooh-ooh, crazy love, ah
Count the stars in a summer sky
That fall without a sound
And then pretend that you can't hear
These teardrops coming down
It happens all the time
This crazy love of mine
Wraps around my heart
Refusing to unwind
Ooh-ooh, crazy love, ah
Tonight I'm gonna break away

Chelsea Williams, Gina Sicilia, Lisa Lambe, Scout Durwood, Simon Morgan
Wonderful!
Awesome! Is that big haired guy singing the former keyboard player in Rick Springfields band? Sure looks like it.
Allan R yes. Now with Billy Idol
Really nice. X
Alas, it took me until his obit to notice him.
I always felt the song should end "just you wait and see."
QEPD Rusty
Possibly the oldest song I remember listening to as a kid. This version, though!
nice rip Rusty
I see Lisa lambe in the background used to sing for Celtic women
One of the girls singing backup looks like Jesse Furay.
:)
WHO IS THE GIRL IN GLASSES ????????????????????
Gutted :-(
The background singers pushed the tempo faster
One hit wonder
Too many voices. Spoils the song. Original was the best.
gosh, I thought it was timmy schmitt who sang this one.

@@kirkpasich4337 Legend is a wonderful album. Every song is good. Out of the whole POCO catalog I always go back to Legend. Flawless.
rusty was able to sing alot of songs tim use to sing, their vocals and harmonies were very similar...loved rusty the most
