Think I remember James saying Raya needs a few "match winning saves this season", during his last podcast...well yesterday he certainly made one. Edit, yeah he just mentioned it.
First goal, pass from saka to havertz, second havertz to saka. Havertz is so much better as false 9 than a midfielder, can't believe arteta played him there for as long as he did, but it's what it is. Havertz can also play second striker but doesn't always makes sense to set up like that, although a left wing back will certainly help
In one of your previous posts during the preseason, you discussed new Quick Restart tactics. This was evident in the Wolves game and led to Saka’s goal. I really enjoyed your analysis
Its a Red. He got frustrated with Havertz so he grabed hes neck and he was looking at him the whole time. After holding hes through he just acts like was falling down. Lets not be stupid here. He got angry and he knows what he is doing. Its a Red. If that would of been Xhaka he would of been off Immediately.
The win and match and build up Match fitness tick tick we switched off for 20 mins and Raya came up with two big saves but that’s what top Keepers do, don’t have much to do then when needed come up with big saves.
Timber came on and not Calafrori because he has the unique ability to slow the game down with his swaggy shoulder drops. Obviously either Timber or Cala will help eliminate the endless waves of attack down that flank but only Timber can do that kind of tiny dribble that makes the entire stadium gasp. But the point is to slow down and get control.
@@juniorgunner501 it's an excuse. When there were no expectations it was even worse. It's just the typical fan in the stadium since the AA section was reduced
That first goal oozes from training- as soon as Saka receives the ball - 3 to 4 sprints into a the box and any of them could have put that ball in the back of the net.
I feel Martinelli is a bit in a Smith-Rowe type of space. Not with injuries, etc. But with his form. He was great 2 years ago, and we know how good he is, but he hasn't evolved similar to Saka or improved, in fact, one can say we are still here hoping that he can find that form. I mean Jurgen Klopp rated him highly and said on his day his is unstoppable. And yet... we still wait, and in the meantime Saka has taken his place as the unstoppable one
Anyone who saw Partey and got worried shouldn’t. Saliba put in a similar performance but nobody says a word… because we know long term he’s good. So is Partey.
Happy that we get 3 point and also the cleansheet but we look a little bit rusty. If we drop the exact same performance next week, there is a very good chance that we will drop points. MOTM is b/n Havertz and Saka but for that assist and also for that excellent goal, I will edge it towards THE STARBOY!
Any part of the hand, elbow on a part of the body that can be deemed dangerous should warrant a yellow at least, even if the ref did not see it. VAR should have caught that. But eh, it was Paul Tierney, what more can you expect from him?
Football is NOT a contact sport. That is why the Ref gives a Foul for contact. Contact sports are Boxing, other Martial Arts,Rugby, American Football. The contract in football is incidental
The reason why arsenal look a bit basketball when partey plays is because he doesn't do save sideway passes he always tries to find odegaard quick or saka thats why we play better with him but he is a bit unfit right now
It's a complete lie that Man City have two players in every position. A lazy argument that simply isn't true. Currently Arsenal have an equally strong squad as City do, potential stronger. If you take the 5 weakest players out of the 22 fit players both teams have currently. Man City | 1. McAtee 2. Perrone 3.Nunes 4.Kovacic 5. Ortega Arsenal | 1. Zinchenko 2. Nelson 3. Jorginho 4. Vieira 5. Nketiah For me, I think Arsenal's back up options are stronger here and i haven't even included Nwaneri or Lewis Skelly. City have only 1 DM and only 1 CF currently, Arsenal have 3 DM options and 3 CF options. Where City are stronger of course is having genuine wingers, this is an area we could address i think. Bringing in a Coman for example would make Arsenal the stronger of the two. I think City winning the title again will depend a lot on who they sign in next two weeks, and keeping Haaland ,Foden, Rodri fit. I heard Paul Merson say something about Arsenal being a 'run of the mill' team if you lose three of 'Gabriel, Rice, Saka and Odegaard' but what about the city team if you take out three of 'Haaland, Foden, DeBruyne, Ederson?' It's pretty much part of the same bullshyt his media narrative that fans make mistake of buying into. City arguably have the best team when everyone is fit, but facts are it is very very tight between Arsenal & City now in terms of quality, and Arsenal marginally have the edge in terms of depth.
That was SA on live TV (exaggerating a bit). But he choked havertz whilst staring into his eyes and grabs Jesus's from behind. Yeah, he shouldnt have been on the pitch. W.r.t the performance, saka MOTM (lovely cross and class goal), havertz played well, odegaard was good. Martinelli was poor. Poor decision making throughout, for example, he actually shot from a near impossible angle instead of a simple lay-off to rice (there was ample space in the box)
Havertz was “really good”? I think it’s overstated bro, he left a few clear chances on table. The 2H one where he tried to finesse to top corner was trash. Perfect example of what I believe can’t happen against a big club or UEFA. We have to be more clinical. I think I’d rate his game far from great.
Please don't add spoilers like this to your thumbnails and titles, it kinda ruins the excitement for those of us that can't watch the game live. Love the content otherwise!
Yeah definitely a red the commentators were waffling, the guy pushes Havertz down and puts his hand on his neck aggressively, could’ve placed his hand anywhere else, if he grabbed his neck whilst they were both standing it’s a straight red
That new AFTV setup isnt the right vibe. The fans lining up for penalties was legendary. Dan Potts picking up Charlene was legendary. It needs another row at least like Barstool

Saka the clear MOTM, credit to Raya, I was behind the first half save & the pace & closeness of the header made it exceptional. ✔
