What is Ecrew? When I had to uproot and move to Indiana, there was a car community called Bcrew (B for Bloomington, Indiana). These guys became my family. Instead of partying on the weekends, I was working on cars- and I loved it. Since starting youtube, I have started what I call Ecrew. GO FOR IT Emilia !! I was one of the 1st employees at Road Atlanta back when they started clearing the 750 acres for the track. I cut trees, dug drainage ditches. Did it all to build the track. I was retained and appointed as Track and Facility Security when we had our 1st race on Sept, 13, 1970. I loved it. Worked there many years thru the good and the bad. Road Atlanta is now a thriving Race Facility. I still attend all the major races and Porsche Club Races in my old Classic Porsche. I'm 72 now and STILL LOVE IT !!! GOD Speed lady !! I loved that place in the late 80's. It was before Streets of Willow went in and only the big track was available. Turns 8 and 9 were a huge rush.
If anyone can make it happen, it's you Emelia. You're smart, passionate, and have good business sense . That's all it takes. The rest will work itself out.
It doesn't hurt that she's a famous UA-cam either.

MUST remember that Florida and California have very very different taxes. So even if the tracks was even close in size, you cant really compare em to one another sad to say.

Make sure to buy up as much land around the track as you can. The death blow to most tracks is the people that move next to race tracks then complain about the noise.

I road tripped my 1999 Porsche 911 to Willow Springs from Denver last Dec. Absolutely loved the whole experience. Good luck! Willow needs you.

Saw Willow Springs was up for sale the othe day and my first though was "someone needs to do a Cleetus". Even from the other side of the pond I know that track has history. Cleetus has said himself the first couple of years for him at the Freedom Factory where very difficult, it was hard work, but look where he is taking the place and look what he has been able to do for others at the same time.

Could forsee a type of car race maybe similar to the crown vic races he has, have a stream for it to support and have revenue.
Emelia, if you get the track, you should run “UA-camr Time Trials” and let UA-camrs run laps and set a time and keep an official leaderboard.

It's a great place, I am there several times a year. Just be aware it's a registered historical landmark, and especially in CA that may put some additional development restrictions. Just make sure you know for sure what you can and can't do. Wishing you luck!
I'm 100% with you on this ! You need this! Imagine all the possibilities after that. Look a Cleet and everything he's accomplished at the FF and all the giant family he's created reuniting all those extremely awesome UA-camrs he's had at his events! He's created an empire around him on the East coast so why not you on the West side you know? I don't think you have anything to lose here but everything to win from it. Go for it Emelia!
One of the issues with racetracks closing is that they have made it very difficult for the average person to go racing, I’m local to Chicago and the nearest racetrack Autobahn Country Club makes it so expensive to join that it stays open to the rich only.
We need something like Nurburgring where it’s open to anyone, look at the videos from there where anyone’s beater car and busses just thrash it on the racetrack.
When I become mayor of Chicago, a public race track will be high on my list, much cheaper than keeping Bears.
Average person can't also cover the cost of paying for the repair when they crash into the wall. The track will charge them a few $1000.
Local track told me only way to get my car out there was rent the track, and that started at $1000.
Actually checked today what the cost is to do a lap on Nürburgring and it costs €30 for ONE LAP 🤯 Thats about $30 Ok so its not a 1/2 mile track, its 20,83km or roughly 16 miles on one lap and 73 turns or maybe you guys say bends?

Time was 1984. One of the first 12 Hour Endurance Races at...Willow Springs, I was there, spectator, from Edwards AFB. Also drove to Riverside through the fog to see Richard Petty. I remember the Earnest Borgnine Chili Cookoff!

Work with Hagerty. Jason Cammisa and Randy Pobst often make videos there for Hagerty, and I have a feeling they'll put some money into it.
Also: you could build apartments there. Every one has an attached 2-car garage with a lift.
Not to mention Donut Media also uses this track quite as well
Hagerty could but it all for themselves if they wanted, why would they work with her? There are thousands of people just in So Cal that could buy that place themselves and do it on their own, she doesn't have that much to offer an investor honestly.

willow needs to stay a racetrack. its history in southern California is unmatched. and same with your history there. i remember all the drift videos from there and that needs to be preserved for future generations. i say do it!

The current owners turned down an offer from a developer for $18 million because they want it to stay a race track.

Suburban encroachment is the biggest killer of tracks / noisy industry . Any apartments you build at the track can be controlled but it's outside the fences that problems occur to so many places . All the best in keeping things going for the next generation of track users
You are absolutely correct. Luckily this track is still relatively isolated.
@@jackparsons2308 I lived in phoenix for a while and a drag strip several miles outside of the city got shut down when people chose to buy land right next door to it and then complained about the noise. There was miles and miles of nothing between them and the city and yet they chose there to buy and build. Hard to not think that people do this on purpose just to be assholes!

As a Rosamond resident and a car guy I would love for this to happen. Willow is about 2 miles away and would love to hear cars more often at the track.

Having worked in the video game realm on aaa racing games, there’s definitely an avenue for finding investment, sponsorship and customers by tapping EA and Ubisoft to use the track for treating and data collection as well as promo events.
With a platform like yours you can plug into a wide variety of companies and make a sensible business case for them about how investing you not only adds value but reduces their costs. If I had the money I’d gladly toss it at this idea and you. Best of luck, California needs to keep the few tracks it has left!!

Amazing news! I’m 70 and have worked on development most of my life and see some sad stories from people who buy land and building with plans to do things with them but failed to do proper due diligence and research and don’t get their plans to work. Please make sure that what goes on their is all permitted and whatever you have in mind for the future can be done on the property. Be sure you have a real estate attorney and land planner on your team. Glad you are going after this. We lost our local track in Palm Beach County recently. Good luck girl! I’ve never been to Willow, I don’t even live in the US, but I absolutely adore Willow Springs, please save it. Big Willow in particular is special in comparison to most tracks around the world, it is one of a very few “old school” circuits left. It’s big, its fast, it’s ballsy. If Big Willow could be modernized similar to something like CTMP (Mosport), and get Grade 2 status, it would be incredible to see Indycar, IMSA, or NASCAR run around Big Willow. The fact that there’s also half a dozen other smaller circuits at the facility is just this incredible bonus, and Willow Spings should be THE heart of car culture on the west coast. It might be a bit remote, but at least the neighbours won’t complain, like at Leguna Seca.

Motor Enclave opened near Tampa Florida they have garage suites around the track like you mentioned. It’s 1.72 mile track and 100 acre off road course.
Drive by it everyday, would be nice to actually get in and see it.
Best of luck on your track purchase offer. One thing that always concerns me about racetracks is the encroachment of housing and then noise restrictions become a big issue. I don't know the area but carefully check the zoning and planning regulations of the area around the track and the housing growth projections for the area.

Stradman is not rich enough to be an investor in something this big. He's opening his pizza joint and he's too strapped with car and home loans. I'm sure she's talking to billionaires as her investors in this.
LMAO Stradman isn't interested in that, he can barely make one video a week and the whole pizza place is just a front so he can claim he is in Arizona for tax purposes.

I hope you succeed with this, I lived in garden grove and went to willow many times, mostly for WERA stuff but a little of everything. Even 24hr races way back when. I used to park my vw camper bus just past the bud balcony turn 4 right against the fence. I don't think they even had that burnout drift pad up there in those days. Was a dirt bike track like north east of the balcony on the hillside. Cleeter out east and you here in the west, that's a beautiful pair of bookends. I'm in N Az now but I'll definitely start makin trips to willow springs again.

Even from the East Coast, Willow Springs is well known. This track is not only adding value to the local community, racers, hobbyists, fans, but to those creating content for us guys from a distance. There's a lot of us.
Willow needs some major repair which is visible, even from the perspective of a phone or computer screen, and we would really love your acquisition to make the necessary changes to bring Willow into the spotlight for major sanctioned races. Condos could create an environment for the hardcore fans, teams, and those who fall in love with the NEW environment you create there to.
I hope you and your investors acquire this property. It'll be a major win for the MASSIVE car/motorcycle/racing community worldwide.

Building a rentable shop section could bring a return. Get some other automotive youtubers who are currently using shops and have an open test section/area that is free use to shop renters could drive a want. It could also put more eyes and even events to draw more communities in for potential return investments.

One way to make it profitable would be to buy up land around it
and put up wind fan/generators and solar panel arrays inside and around the track.
THEN have specialty races for all electric cars, like the new McMurtry Spierling(?) that not only can do the quarter mile in 7 seconds while still being street legal - it just set a new track record at Hockenheim, beating the newest Mersadies super car by 13 SECONDS!
The car did this while set at 75% power!!!

Good luck!! We here in the Houston Texas area have just lost another track.
I live in the other side of the world and the nearest race track is 2 hours away and there is another 2½ hours away. One was failing and the other had just been closed. Both were bought, rebuilt and now going to be run by a passionate owner who believes in ideas and investment. The first track has opened and is showing a marked improvement with the second to reopen in September. This and other examples are proof that it can be done and we all believe you can do it too.
I hope you can buy it and restore it to its rightful place as the fastest road in the west!! I too have spent many years racing there and hope you can save this piece of history!!

- Pavement on Big Willow is trash especially for a track with 100mph+ _average_ speeds on even so much as a 125cc. Complete repave (hopefully just the cap if you're lucky)
- Facilities are dated and quite frankly, disgusting for a destination race course, I can still smell the paddock bathrooms since my last visit.
- Balcony auto-x & skid-pad, while in much better shape than Big WIllow, has seams all over it, 2nd or 3rd rate.
- Horse Thief mile is like most mile-long tracks, a training/school circuit, also needs a repave.
- Kart track is BTFO'd, perhaps salavage in its current state without a repave.
- Walt James Stadium.... how this is called a Stadium is anyone's guess, another overhaul (grandstand/bleachers are roached), dirt surface might be OK but since the whole rest of the place is in neglect, I doubt it.
- Streets of Willow Springs... the only reason this place has stayed alive recently. Great pavement but crappy (nonexistant) paddock operation.
All of these things can be fixed of course, for a price. Certainly more than the $2m+ rumored asking price. Which brings me to my last point... it's valued at $2.4m by who? The local tax authorities, and I can tell you from personal experience that the tax assessed value NEVER matches market value.

Amazing news and thanks for doing your part to save these race tracks. I know the Denver area just lost Bandimere Speedway last year. Also, if you get it then that’s one hell of a legacy you’re creating.

Cleetus laid out the blueprint of how to buy a track(s) and build it out for profitability. You have a massive audience there in SoCal for Burnout comps, hopefully it has a drag strip, if not you’re gonna be building one. You’ve gotta have it. Also concessions and utilities.
