    Love this video.
    I bought this model hiace, a complete camperhome, a blank slate, a work vehicle that can haul 8' x 4' sheet & an efficient vehicle and the tiniest home to respurr my marriage with a Woman who used to love camping. Next adventure awaits!
    ❤ Wish me luck

    Nice build. I have a 96 full time version here in NZ , high top. Goes some places, especially after getting some good Maxxis tyres and some recovery gear to ease the mind when alone! Looking to do a refit and get all the weight low, some nice ideas in yours. cheers

    A rear wheel drive Hiace is plenty good, especially with 3 big guys in front seats reversing uphill with nothing in the back.

    Hey guys love your HiAce build! I was curious if you could tell me what bullbar and roof racks you have here? I just brought a 97’ super custom hiace and am looking for parts.
    Thanks

      All the accesories I bought just second handed from local "ebay". So sorry, not able to help.

      Just bought a 1994 Hiace super custom. Being in the US, I haven’t found a website yet that has any accessories, like dash mat, seat covers, light protectors, rock bars, skid plates, nothing really. Since these vans are all over the world but Canada and the US, surely there are plenty of aftermarket sites from around the world one can order from. I am open to any suggestions! Before I take it “off-road”, I would like to protect it as much as possible since even a tail light cover could be hard to find. If anyone has found a site I would be grateful to know. Thanks
      And Yo Toyota!!!

    Miskako, Did they ever make any of the 100 series with a "Dual Range" transfer box do you know please?
    Also is your van an automatic trans or Manual? Cheers!

      I believe this one does have the low ratio, mine did, I now have a 93 ( long story, not happy about it) which has a (far more common) viscous diff in the middle, not as capable as far as I know. Still probably go a lot of places a van normally wouldn't...
      So yes from 89 till about 92, they did use the system off the hilux in the supercustoms... after that it's all wheel drive, no low ratio, no selectable part time, no lockable hubs...

    Nice van looks a lot like my setup. Interesting storage drawers. Do you keep the spare tire underneath In the factory spot?

    • @miskako

      Yep. Spare one comes along as they planned it in japan.

    Awesome stuff! wondering did you have add a diff lock? or just using the stock standard AWD System?

    • @miskako
      @miskako  2 роки тому +2

      Standard system with front hub locks. Diff lock would be awesome but was mostly allright without. Offcourse didn't do any extreme stuff. Mostly just dry gravel like in video.

    Hey, we just bought a Hiace to build for Overlanding. I was wondering if you could tell me what size tires you are running and if they rub. They look great.

    • @miskako
      @miskako  4 роки тому +1

      Im quite sure that tyres were 225/75 r16 on hilux rims, did rub little at first but after adding washers to work as 2mm spacers and some hammering didn´t rub at all.

    • @craigp5442
      @craigp5442 4 роки тому

      miskako I was going to ask you the same question about wheels and tyres. I have a 1997 Super Custom 4wd and would like 16s. Do you have coils on the rear, do the rims come close to the shock bolts ? Love the sliding bed idea, is it a double ? I am trying to keep my rear twin seats in my build but looks like they might have to go. Great van.

    • @miskako
      @miskako  4 роки тому

      @@craigp5442 at the rear had no issues with fitting and didn´t come even close to anything. The rear was lifted with Monroe air shocks. Yea, the bed needed to be easy as possible to make so we ended up with this solution.
      Thanks!

      @quinnjin2 Рік тому

      The models with the lockable diffs and proper 4x4 ( no center viscous diff ) do not have the 1kz.. they have the 3L... I've heard of somebody retrofitting a 5L ...
