Beautiful duo/dual not entertainment but its Meditation . Not trance but transmigration to higher domains. No flattety no exaggeratiin. I am carnatic vocal & mandalin player upto my 33 yrs later transfers both in & outside India in Iil Company ...double concentration not yielded

Yes. In traditional Carnatic recitals for aradhana utsavams performers wear traditional clothes. Men wear dhoti and uttareeyam and women wear saris.
As to the mridangam player removing uttareeyam, he probably got too hot, which happens while playing rhythm instruments if there's no AC or fan

Your name doesn’t sound foreign but you sure do. The tradition is to wear unstitched clothes and usually only waist down for men. The idea is to be as close to nature as possible and that is definitely possible in the tropical climes of southern India.

They are very busy with concerts and are at prime of their music. May Lord Krishna bless them both with long life filled with health and prosperity and
You can start learning with any local vainika available and after you reach a certain proficiency (at least 5-7 years of rigorous Practice) you can approach them and be ready to travel for classes, which may be fine tuning what you already learned with new techniques.
