I think moral was really dark honestly with the subtext. By trying to be someone you aren't, you're pretty much denying your own existence. This was a good Fox brothers episode. This episode proved why Flutters is still one of my favs. I did get few of the references too hehe. The outfit that appeared kingly was a reference to King Henry VIII of England.
That suit IT IS technically one worn by a King of England; but the actual reference is that "Q" also used one EXACTLY the same in an episode of Star Trek (basically Discord was checking old outfits in his closet instead of making new ones).
I swear this episode was to fully support the Fluttercord ship, lol. Because that's what it feels like. Discord was just so sweet trying to make things comfortable for Fluttershy, and Fluttershy was just as sweet trying to make things go back to normal; she even had similar ideas that he had. Staircase that goes nowhere, tea that sing. That's just great. I also loved the lesson, so sweet! This whole entire episode was just a giant sweet filled upside down cake full of sprinkles and frosting. Just oh my gosh! So sweet. I shipped it before, but I ship it even harder now. But even without the ship their friendship is adorable! Love it so much. Great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.
This must have been a weird episode for de Lancie to record. I'm pretty sure the Mr. Rogers look was intentional. Rogers was always pushing the message that we are all special and how grateful he was we were who we were. He was a man who promoted the idea that there is no truly wrong way to be a human being and that we are worth liking for being ourselves. This mixes with the message of the episode as Discord didn't think Fluttershy would like him if she saw just how weird he truly was. I can relate to that fear. I was always changing myself as a kid because no one understood me and had no interest in putting the effort into changing that. It wasn't until someone came along that actually saw through my act and liked me for who I really was that I started realizing that I didn't need to change who I was to get friends. This episodes message is probably the most personal the show has gotten.

I love this episode...It really showed Fluttershy at her best and it was heartwarming to see just how far Discord was going to go...just to make her feel comfortable.
The little pinata is sooooo cute when it keeps sneezing (Like candy and confetti!) Plus the face you make when it sneezes is priceless. In this episode Fluttershy has never been so unshy. Whenever they talk about tea I really want it for some reason. I laughed so hard throught this video I couldn't breathe :)

Despite the fact that episode 13 overshadowed episode 12, I still think Discordant Harmony was amazing, in my top 5 of the season, under A Royal Problem still though.
