    I subscribed the first time I saw you give a gift to the plants, I knew you were a good person, I was raised to leave cornmeal or tobacco or herbs anywhere I take something from the forest. our homes and gardens and our waste should follow that trend as well, we should give back to nature and try not to take more than Mother Nature can support

    I SO LOVE your videos!! You asked us to say what we like or don't or might suggest we'd like to see. I'd LOVE to see you focus closely on the plants you speak of. From the viewer perspective, except if you pick a leaf and show us, we can't SEE what you're picking. Also, please show the leaf patterns and describe their texture (besides hairy, lol) and if it gets berries later (or whatever it does) if you think it might help us identify. Some of us are BRAND NEW at foraging and some of us are truly seeking the medicine to save our lives from life "ailments" or "disease, etc." I've learned SO MUCH from you and LOVE your style! Thank You for the LOVE from your Heart in sharing these amazing BEINGS with us who have something to offer us for our EARTH LIVES and OUR SPIRITS! Mmmmwas! *Much Love, Blessings and Gratitude!*

    I just started learning more about herbs, I'm glad I came across your videos. There very helpful. It would help a new person like me to see the plants up close and personal. So I also can get to know what I'm seeking in my near by woods and places. I really enjoy your energy and up lifting spirit with amazing knowledge. Keep the videos coming.

    I heard that if its super bitter and tingles/tickle the lips or tongue that it's most likely poisonous.?. Wish I could take pictures of certain plants that call me in and ask you what plants thet are. Been thinking of creating a super detailed phone app for foraging properly. Your Intel and knowledge is awesome!

    cleaning fiddlehead papers is a snap with a nice pair of deerskin gloves... unfurl the head and gently pull down the length against the papers with the stem between the thumb, pointer, and middle fingers. done

      Gotta be a fine grain. Waxy finish on the leather won't work and neither will a grainy finish. Deer, elk, or goat.

    Awesome video. How do you manage concern of both human contaminants such as pesticides being used in areas you go to, as well as natural contaminants such as molds/fungi/viruses/bacteria etc. When you are tasting these plants? I wouldn't have the guts to do it.

    Hi ya Yarrow! I got a lot of great info on a lot of plants, the books I have are a far cry from the description That u gave, and I greatly appreciate u for that, problem is, I have no idea what most of the plants look like, or the parts u pull off of them, If u have a book on wild edibles, I then could pause the video after each description, go the the plant n the book to better exam it, not to mention I could take it wherever I go, it goes with me to better compare the plants n the book to the one I’m looking at. Please, do u have a book/books that u sale??? Thank u

    Obviously I dont want to taste test water hemlock or anything... lol

    • @TheKristenGibson
      @TheKristenGibson 6 років тому +1

      Paul Jones it mostly does. I would do the three step test.
      Step 1: rub on your wrist and wait 10 minutes....if no reaction
      Step 2: put in mouth and taste but don't swallow....wait 10 minutes....if no reaction
      Step 3: chew and taste a small portion
      Also, get a few field guides for wild edibles

    It’s Poppin in the Forest! Things are Popping out to see what’s poppin! Just pop some of these new buds that have just popped out into your nibbler... POP POP! Son of Yarrow pops off a handful of nature’s popcorn and pops them in his mouth all the way home... He learned it from His Pop! Pop, Pop! These stems are just popping out, I’m just going to pop off some of these leaves, pop these flowers off that have popped out of the top, and pop them back! Let’s pop around this bush and see what’s over there, let’s pop this roots out of the ground... and pop them into a tea! Pop the heads off of these dandelions and pop that bit out and pop them in your satchel. Pop, Pop... Poppity Pop!
