I couldn’t hear who requested this, but THANK YOU! This is my favorite song off of this incredible album and one of the most epic love songs ever, IMO.
It was Me and you're very welcome
This is my favorite and only gets better with time
🎵✌️🎶
@@missblondie2393 - thanks Blondie! 😀
I agree
Me too.
@@missblondie2393 That's the thing about For Crying Out Loud. It gets better year after year and every time you listen to it. So many incredible Meat and Jim songs, but this is the most incredible of them all.
From the 1977 debut album, "Bat Out of Hell", this is such a beautiful song, with fabulous lyrics and the strings accompanying the orchestral backing so lovely. Meatloaf's magnificent vocals just a powerhouse of emotion.
Every song on this album is a full fledged dynamic production of musical perfection. Great reaction Harri 🎻🎻🎻 Thanks Harri and Miss Blondie 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Mary
This song to me is poetry set to music
Meatloaf brings it to life and what a journey it is
Hope you're doing well Miss Maestro
🎶💜🎵🇨🇦🇺🇲💜
@@missblondie2393 Super pick. Loving the summer. Hope you are too. 🤗🤗❤️❤️
Meatloaf was the greatest showman of all time on stage he had a hard life but made it great. RIP
Yeah he was awesome but so was Freddy.
I bought this album as an 8-track when it first came out. I was 15. I wore out that 8-track, along with the two after that, as well as three cassette versions. It was my first CD purchase when CDs arrived, and now I have it both in my cloud and in my favorites on Spotify.
Even when I now have my grandchildren in the car and listen to it I am transported back to my 15 year old self, feeling again all of the teenage angst and dreams which this album captured. And I’m okay with that.
Same here!!! I've purchased Bat Out of Hell countless times, in countless forms, since the late 1970s. Nearly fifty years later, it's rare that a week goes by that I don't listen to him.
The best track on one of the best albums of all time. Not too many react to this one. Thank You for checking this out.
I'm so happy to know how much this song is appreciated
It's a timeless Masterpiece and in my opinion as well the best of Jim and Meatloaf all time
🎶✌️🎵
Maybe not a lot of people react to it because it doesn't have an MV.
@@missblondie2393 It's my favorite of his also... along with "heaven can wait" and "objects in the rear view window".. truly masterpieces
@@SCharlesDennicon you're right

I would have loved to see him perform live

I was lost 'til you were found
And I never knew how far down I was falling
Before I reached the bottom
I was cold and you were fire
And I never knew how the pyre could be burning
On the edge of the ice field
And now the chilly California wind
Is blowing down our bodies again
And we're sinking
Deeper and deeper in the chilly California sand
Oh, I know you belong inside my aching heart
And can't you see my faded Levis bursting apart
And don't you here me crying, "Oh, babe, don't go"?
And don't you hear me screaming
"How was I to know?"
I'm in the middle of nowhere
Near the end of the line
But there's a border to somewhere waiting
And there's a tankful of time
Oh, give me just another moment
To see the light of the day
And take me to another land where
I don't have to stay
And I'm gonna need somebody to make me feel like you do
And I will receive somebody with open arms, open eyes
Open up the sky, let the planet that I love shine through
For crying out loud, you know I love you
For crying out loud, you know I love you
For crying out loud, you know I love you
I was damned and you were saved
And I never knew how enslaved I was kneeling
In the chains of my master
I could laugh oh but you could cry
And I never knew just how high I was flying
Ah, with you right above me
And now the chilly California wind
Is blowing down our bodies again
And we're sinking
Deeper and deeper in the chilly California sand
Oh, I know you belong inside my aching heart
And can't you see my faded Levis bursting apart
And don't you here me crying, "Oh Babe, don't go"?
And don't you hear me screaming
"How was I to know?"
I'm in the middle of nowhere
Near the end of the line
But there's a border to somewhere waiting
And there's a tankful of time
Oh, give me just another moment
To see the light of the day
And take me to another land where I don't have to stay
And I'm gonna need somebody to make me feel like you do
And I will receive somebody with open arms, open eyes
Open up the sky and let the planet that I love shine through
For crying out loud, you know I love you
For crying out loud, you know I love you
Oh for crying out loud, you know I love you
For crying out loud, you know I love you
For taking in the rain when I'm feeling so dry
For giving me the answers when I'm asking you why
And my oh my, for that I thank you
For taking in the sun when I'm feeling so cold
For giving me a child when my body is old
And don't you know for that I need you
For coming to my room when you know I'm alone
For finding me a highway, for driving me home
And you gotta know for that I serve you
For pulling me away when I'm starting to fall
For revving me up when I'm starting to stall
And all in all for that I want you
For taking and for giving and for playing the game
For praying for my future in the days that remain
Oh Lord, for that I hold you
Oh, but most of all
For crying out loud for that I love you
Woah, but most of all
For crying out loud for that I love you
Woh, but most of all
For crying out loud for that I love you
When you're crying out loud
You know I love you
Thank you I'm auditioning for the voice after years of practice I can do justice to the song but I'm trying to figure out how. In the final would they let me do it instead of two songs?
As many responders have already said, this is my favorite Meat Loaf song. I've been listening to it for 44 years, and it grabs me every time. Thanks to Miss Blondie for suggesting it. Great reaction, Harri!
So glad you enjoyed this Masterpiece
It's my favorite too
🎵✌️🎶
Ended up becoming my favourite on a magical album.
Mine, too. It was the perfect wrap to what was already an incredible album. His timing and inflection get me every time I hear this. ❤
Meat always gave everything he needed oxygen after every show and when he was in his 60's he even fainted a few times during concerts, he was so dedicated to his fans one time he fainted in the middle of a concert got oxygen and finshed the concert.
I was obsessed with this album and every song on the album when I was junior high. I still listen to the whole thing a occasionally. It’s a classic! ❤️
Ms Blondie !!! This is my very favorite Meatloaf song. Incredible vocals, great lyrics, and that little twist on the last stanza. Kudos Mr Steinman (RIP)
So glad you enjoyed it Gary
It's my favorite as well
You mentioned the strings, the original recording credits the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, so massive kudos to them for their part in making one of the greatest ever love songs. Only Steinman could write and compose something so stupendous, and only Meat could provide the vocals it deserves.
Goosebumps every time!! I've seen him in concert countless times and he never disappointed ❤ if you haven't heard it yet you really have to hear objects in the rearview mirror and you need to do the official video with it no one can keep a dry eye when they hear it it's so moving. Also heaven can Wait and two out of three bad
Bat Out Of Hell is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Or minimally in my time at least…and I’m no spring chicken!
just a fun fact Meatloafs daughter pearl Aday is Married to Scott Ian from Anthrax
Gosh, I played this album to death back in the day, it must be 20+ years since I last listened to it!! Must drag it out and give it a whirl!!😂😂🇬🇧
Umlaufen to this album so erratically. Sometimes, I’ll binge it for days or weeks. Sometimes, I don’t listen for months, then ply it once and go months again. Sometimes, it’s once a week or so for a few months.
Whatever pattern I end up in, it hits me hard every time.
Only Heaven Can Wait tops this on the album.. Meats passing was a green loss. A gentle giant who loved ot give us theatrics and lord knows he was a great actor as well A case can be made for him being robbed when ignored at awards for his role in Fight Club. RIP big fella
"Heaven can wait" is a real tear jerker 😊
Possibly the greatest love song ever written and sung. The part where he sings "and we're sinking deeper and deeper in the chilly California sand" and the way the piano hits different notes in the background literally sends chills through me. Something about that part always gets me in a vibe.
Epic masterpiece 😊
First! As the 2nd commentor said, this is my favorite of the album. He gets you right in the feels. For all that, Meat Loaf, I thank you.
Not only my favourite Meat song but also my favourite song of all time. One of the greatest love songs of all time also. A masterpiece.
It's my favorite love song too
Breathtaking
This and heaven can wait always give me chills.
Really enjoyed your reaction! I read once that ML said something to the effect that he may be exhausted at the end of his performance but you will be too. So true… no one can pull me into a performance, spin me up down and around, then spit me out going WTH just happened like ML and Steinman. IMHO they are not just a once in a lifetime, they are eternal.
Thank you Miss Blondie. I never paid much attention to Meatloaf, but I have recently discovered that he put out some great stuff. Nice reaction Harri 🌺👍
Glad you enjoyed it Debbie
I was about 7 when this came out so didn't get into Meatloaf till later in life
And so glad I did
I even got to see him in 2015
It was a smallish theater about 2,000 every single person stood the entire time
It was an exchange of energy
He was brilliant and born to perform
For me, both Meatloaf and Jim's masterpiece. Perfection.
Bat Out of Hell, Paradise and Two out of three are sensational songs, Heaven Can Wait is a personal favorite, but FCOL is Steinman and Meatloaf's magnum opus. It's just monumental. The writing, the orchestration, the voice. The buildup, the ending. The words. The voice. Easily one of the best rock songs ever made.
Great reaction.
I am so lucky. Born early enough to have grown up with EPIC music 😊😊
I’m a 27 year experience band/choir teacher and I use this song to teach about tempo and emotional expression.
GREAT SONG
Jim Steinman did work with Sea-Lion Dying.... Celine Dion
Darn, Jim Steinman was a heck of a composer and songwriter. I actually loved his one solo album "Bad for Good". One female reactor said after hearing this masterpiece (For crying out loud) that if her boyfriend were to write a song for her, it had to be like this one.
there is no video version of this one. There is an live version from 2012 , but already then his voice wasn't up for this song. And as he said in the performance, last time he sung it live was 1979 or something like that. Because it demands so much of his voice and energy. So it drained him...And this is the best version so far...And he crashed after nearly all his live performances.
Love this track, but the 'can't you see my faded Levis, bursting apart' makes me cringe every time.
Many Steinman songs had overtly sexual lyrics. He did it intentionally and refers to it as a boner line in the documentary clip for this song which is available on UA-cam. You probably wont want to listen to "Surfs Up" again if you were offended.
Unless you thought it was a fat reference in which case you are welcome and I recommend the "Bad For Good" Jim Steinman album version which is actually sang by Rory Dodd who is one of the most underrated backing singers in history, mainly due to lack of duo credit on Total Eclipse of The Heart.. :)
Love the piano and orchestra on this, as well as the vocals. Jim Steinman was a great song writer.
ROCK OPERA GREATNESS.
The song "Bat out of Hell" is epic.
I give meatloaf 100% A+ on his vocals! But as far as the presentation of this song, the ebb and flow of it, the whole presentation is done by Jim steinman who wrote the words and the music. You might remember another song of his called Total eclipse of the heart. Same guy. This is a powerhouse! Peace!
STEINMAN NEVER RECIEVES MUCH CREDIT AS HE DESERVED.
Just answer me this. Are you going to do a tribute to Randy Meisner?
For a quiet introvert, Randy Meisner had a golden voice, which he shared with millions of fans. His demons are now laid to rest. Rest easy...
@@jamestaylor2920gorgeous man, glorious voice…. Take it to the Limit !! ❤❤
My 2nd favourite singer.
John Farnham 1st 🙂
I grew up with them.
I love there powerful tuneful voices.
RIP meatloaf. Love you for ever 💕
absolutely love this song! Thanks for the reaction!
Great reaction! Thank you for checking out this incredible but rarely-reacted to track. Meat certainly did put 200% into every performance. Jim Steinman said that, although it doesn't show up on film, the amount of steam that would be coming up from Meat's body when he was on stage was like the steam coming up out of the New York subway system, he'd just be generating that much heat.
I was lucky to see him in concert eight times, and each time was a two-and-a-half hour, non-stop, epic emotional rollercoaster that left me physically and mentally drained. At time time I was in my mid-teens to mid-twenties, he was mid-fifties to mid-sixties, and I'd need a week to recover from one concert!
This is my favorite Meatloaf song. The ending is the BEST!!!
That ending gives me chills
I saw Meat perform this song for the first time in 30 years with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra it was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had at a concert.
Oh Wow
I can only imagine how Epic it was
A lasting music memory
🎶✌️🎵
Meat Loaf was a force to be reckoned with.
Probably the best power ballad ever written and recorded.
Harri, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Meat Loaf passed away, Jan 20, 2022, of Covid 19 complications. He was 74 at the time. He had been in poor health since about 2003, suffering from Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, asthma, a Spinal fusion, and many other health issues. Despite requiring a cane and wheelchair for mobility, he continued to perform. In 2019, he fell off a stage, and broke his clavicle. He retired soon afterwards, as his body just could not take any more punishment.
I know he passed away.I did put an RIP on the video towards the end 🙏🏿
I never saw a cause of death listed.
Will always be my favourite meatloaf song. Even though it's a cover he sang it better than Christopher Walken aka kid champion in 1975.
Without a doubt the best love song ever written (Thank you Jim Steinman) and perfectly sung by Meatloaf
RIP
Miss B - One can never get enough of Meatloaf, and "For Crying Out Loud" was a great choice. As you know, there are more tracks such as "Heaven Can Wait" which have yet to be submitted.😁 That song holds much personal meaning for me. This was an A+ submission in my book. Harri, your review was terrific.
Hi Dave and yes many many incredible tracks
Harri reacted to Heaven Can Wait when Meatloaf passed away
RIP to both Jim and Meatloaf
@@missblondie2393 I actually did see this when Harri did a tribute of Meat. Thanks for the heads-up.
Has anyone mentioned that Bat Out of Hell was produced by ToddRundgren?
You just did 😉
✌️✌️🎶🎵
I actually read this just a year or two ago
He is 👍 Elvis. A one of a kind whose voice you instantly recognized.
He could sing like angel or a demon. There won’t be a talent like Meatloaf ever again.
Can only patreons request songs?
Nope, you can requests too.But Patreons are guaranteed
The album begins with Bat Out of Hell. A song about escaping. very fast and crazily, without any pause with great intensity.
For crying out loud (the final song the last song on the album), he’s beaten down, he’s crawling back to her.
Like Bruce Springsteen sang in Cautious Man, a song about doubt and wanting to leave leave it all behind. He’s in bed next to his sleeping wife:
He got dressed in the moonlight and down to the highway he strode
When he got there he didn't find nothing but road
The Architect, Jim Steinman; the Builder, Meatloaf.. The Result - Masterpiece
This song is perfection!
Meat Loaf/Jim Steinman's best song. Also, they both said so...
...and that bridge towards the end! The only song I know with as good a bridge is Steve Forbert's "Search your heart".
This is my most favourite song of his to sing. What a talented musician, actor and a genuinely great man he was. Miss him ♥️
I feel as if a part of my youth died with the passing of this wonderful entertainer and genuine human being. Marvin Lee Aday (Michael) AKA Meatloaf your musical performances will live on! Thanks for the decades memories.
You know what I love about this reaction video? You only stopped this epic song twice to comment briefly. Most reaction videos stop several times. Bravo to you. The song and Meat's music speaks for itself. You're definitely all class, sir. 👍
One of many reasons Harri is the best reactor on UA-cam
🎵✌️🎶
I have been hounding a hand full of reactors for a few years now trying to expose them to this song.... For some reason it gets lost among all of the other hits on this album but It's one of my favorites. You really get to hear all the different personalities of his voice in this. Whoever it was that finally got it on here... THANK YOU!!!
That would me Sir
For all the reasons you've mentioned
In my humble opinion this was Meatloaf's Masterpiece
So glad to hear you enjoyed it
🎶✌️🎵
HarriBest I just found you on UA-cam and subscribed because of this song. Thank you so much for posting this!! Much Love and suport!!
My favourite of the album (love the rest) but this ...... this is angelic
Definitely a deep album cut, but I LOVE it!
Meatloaf"s voice never sounded better than this!
The absolute best version of this song is the Live version with the MSO:
ua-cam.com/video/FL-SSdkbKm0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AdrianPrice
The entire Meat Loaf Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is a collection of the best live performances.
It is Steinman's masterpiece. Much of his other songs get all the fame but there's nothing of his that is better than this. Meat Loaf kills it and it's a masterpiece.
Agree
One helluva voice is all I can say. He's the most emotional, passionate singer I've ever heard outside of Big O. His voice was even more powerful than Big O was. This is one my favorite all time songs and do I ever love and miss this guy. And even with this powerful singing voice he had such a gentle speaking voice that you simply do not expect out of such a big man. They'll never be another Meatloaf.
Ive followed this man since bat came out when i was just seven years old...it turned into a lifelong passion that even the great mans desth cannot stop. Thankfully i wss lucky enough to have seen him seven times since then and what a journey. The only thing that would have tooped it for me was to have seen jim Steinman too.... The most underrated and in my opinion unsurpassed lyricist there has ever been. The whole thing being his vision,.. combine him and meat loaf and... Well, there are not enough words... Thank you miss blondie from an englishman who shall forecer have Jim and meat in my heart...
An incredible song and performance to close an amazing album. What Jim Steinman, Meatloaf and Todd Rundgren created with the Bat Out of Hell album will be listened to and enjoyed for a very, very long time.
So.. This is my al time favorite song ever recorded. Only Meatloaf and Steinman can take a song so beautiful and stick a boner joke in there and pull it off. " Cant you see my faded Levis bursting apart". Steinman thought is was hilarious.
Have you listened to A Kiss Is A Terrifying Thing To Waste, Objects In The Rearview Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear, or Home By Now No Matter What? They are as excellent as this one.
Gosto muito das músicas que são a nossa alegria você tá de parabéns vamos ouvir nossas músicas que nós faz lembrar coisas boas parabéns pra todos os cantores em comum todos 🌸🌼🎩🧥🕺🏿🎸
Saw he & the amazing band in an old movie theater in the 70's when this album came out. Meat Loaf drove down the aisle & up to the small stage on his motorcycle. It only got wilder!
I love the way he sings differently as the song and feelings change. Subtle but dramatic over the whole some. A listener never gets to rest.
Yes it's virrually rock opera, different than what another great band would produce, this a passionate thank you to a loved one , for their presence in life
“I was cold and you were fire. And I never knew how the pyre could be burning, on the edge of the ice field”
pyre
noun
a heap of combustible material, especially one for burning a corpse as part of a funeral ceremony.
So powerful and so beautiful....hope you all feel the same!
My favorite song of his. Not enough reactions to this powerhouse of a song.
Not a bad song on the album! Uderrated classic!
Underrated!? 43 million record sales, 522 weeks in the UK album charts, the second longest chart run by a studio album……silly comment. I read “underrated” a lot on UA-cam and most of the time it’s complete rubbish.
@@nigelphillips3580 LOL SIlly commnet? You proved my point. It was one of the most successful selling records and its not on Rolling stones top 100 albums of all time. THe critics hated the album. Meat loaf is not in the Rock in Roll Hall of Fame. Most people uneder the age of 35 never heard of him so yes its an uderated classic.

Fantastic reaction, respect.
I've seen Meat Loaf about 10 times over 40 years. I've only witnessed Meat sing this song 1 time. Meat said this was the most difficult of all his songs to perform. So fortunate to have seen this live! THIS is my favorite song. You are so dearly missed...forever will love you!

Jim Steinman was the modern time Wagner and luckily found Meat to express his songs to the whole world.
Their combination was just pure art! When it comes to the vocal skills, I have never seen a cover which comes even close to Meat. Hands he was by far the best rock opera singer of all time.
Jim Steinman frequently referred to Meat as "his Vivaldi". That's pretty high praise from one musician to another
