      Its Jank but its very charming place. Every single person I met was a delight and I had an amazing time. I wish they had more coasters, sure, but its a great place. Add to that that they have one of the best coasters in the world and it just takes it to a new level. I hope it encourages smaller parks to consider adding some strong coasters to give them that boost. ( though I doubt most could go this big)

    I’ve seen this advertised lately on the tv here in Atlanta and that’s what brought me to this video. I love the old fair rides mixed in with modern ride idea. They could really expand oh this and put so high end fair rides in while mixing in coasters. Like a permanent carnival that’s safe. Looks like they could use a set of swings too. From the video the grounds and landscaping need a lot of help. Since I’m in Atlanta I’ll definitely visit. I also hope it doesn’t become tainted like six flags which is a nasty park with a lot of sketchy customers. I look forward to seeing it develop.

    I can’t wait to visit here and ride AFO!!!
    We are moving to SC low country in the Spring so we will be much closer then compared to now in Ohio!! So coasters in Georgia, Orlando and Tampa are definitely, finally going to happen!!!

    I have to say all of the weirdness of this park contributes to the vibe that I like so much. It really does look like a bunch of Old stuff was just thrown together and then they built one of the world's best coasters to go along with it. But everybody is so friendly, the write-ups are great at their job, and the crowds are so thin you can just do whatever you want without waiting. They do need to do some work dressing up the park, especially covering up that Old parking lot, and they definitely need some world-class flat rides. A Huss Booster and something along the lines of a giant frisbee. A few rides like that and another unique coaster type that's missing from SFOG and they've got a hit. Rumor has it that they're getting either a GCI or Gravity Group coaster soon - they own a lot of the surrounding land already.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  9 місяців тому +1

      It definitely feels thrown together and I hope they can fix that going forward.

      Wonder if gravity group would want to work with them and vice-versa, as they're doing some RMC work already on mine blower which didn't open that long ago. On the other hand White Lightning seems to be much better received, so seems like a GCI wouldn't be out of the question, which would be cool

    • @toyoracer33
      @toyoracer33 8 місяців тому

      @@user-jz7ny1qc6j The rumor Mill says that the next coaster being considered as either a GG or GCI. Fun Spot knows the reason that they've had so much trouble with the wood coasters is because of it being in Florida.
      That being said, it's not completely out of the question that they have RMC do a topper track coaster for them. They do love RMC.

    I got a chance to visit this park and Over Georgia at the end of October while I was in Atlanta for a media conference. I much preferred Fun Spot for the chill atmosphere and especially ArieForce One which is my #2 coaster out of 105.

    I live in north atl, abt 1hr 30min from this park. I really hope they add something to complement arieforce one to make the drive worthwhile. It doesn't have to be another coaster, but a couple large flat rides would really help make the park more marketable

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  9 місяців тому +2

      As someone who lives about an hour away ( Roswell-ish area), I would say it was still worth it just to get a bunch of rides on this. Beyond that, I had a good time elsewhere. Everyone was kind, the prices were fair, and I got to do some go karting elsewhere. If you can't marathon though then yeah, this would be a lot to pay just to come here. But if you can get a get few rides on AFO, I suggest going.

    I commented this on your Fun Spot Atlanta ride countdown video also, but the Paratrooper is a bona fide piece of amusement park history. The one you highlight here was rescued from obscurity; it had run at the Miracle Strip Amusement Park in Panama City, Florida, until that park's unfortunate closure in 2004. It's so wonderful to see Fun Spot rehabilitate this ride and reintroduce it to younger generations.

    • @CanobieCoaster

      @@CanobieCoaster It was such a classic-style park with its own unique charms in several places. You definitely would have wanted to ride The Starliner again and again. I hope someday I can visit The Terrortorium in Alabama where rumor has it that the old Haunted Castle dark ride has been preserved.

    This park reminds me of RCT3 when I just build rides and shops in random spots without decor.

  • @verybighomer

    That park has pretty good potential. Nice classic rides, various go-kart tracks for everyone and of course ArieForce One. But I agree, they need to work on the aesthetics. Huge ugly concrete areas are a big no no for me, but that should be easily fixed with some repairs and ideally some more greenery.

  • @spentron1
    @spentron1 9 місяців тому +1

    Maybe holding off on the advertising means they plan on making the park better soon.
    Thing about Arie Force is it really "clicked" with me, it wasn't just a little better than anything else its scale, every part worked and flowed and that curve by the pond gives you and extra half second to think and you're still totally hauling and you realize ... YEAHHH!
    Sea Serpent didn't seem that mild to me, crazy for what it is, laughed. Bumper boats are great. I spent 3.5 hrs. there, partially due to miscalculation (it's not a good idea to try and get *back* to SFoG), but it was a good time and expect to need at least 2 hours. I wonder what it would be like early in the day, since the parking lot is far less hot than SF's. Probably too empty.

    What’s the actual top speeds of those go karts? They look like sluggish souped-up bumper cars on gimmicky, weird courses,and I’ve noticed that this seems to be similar across most tracks in the USA, at least the ones in parks. It feels weird, as here in Europe your usual go-kart track will have karts much closer to competition ones (albeit a bit bulkier with a plastic bumper all around to protect the wheels and with four stroke engines) easily running up to around 60-70kmh (~40mph) on tracks that are most of the time closer to actual race tracks, at least for the outdoor courses. That’s just something I noticed that bugged me and I wanted to talk about it 😁

      I’m actually the mechanic for a set of go karts here in the states, the ones I work on though are very old and build in the late 1980’s. We use 4 stroke Honda GX270 engines and usually the karts operate at around 15mph approximately for guests and families. If the governor is disabled i can usually get them up to 30-35 which is pretty impressive since the old ones I fix are built like tanks and weigh around 550-600 lbs but if they were lighter could reach around 40+ easily. Our track is like a long oval shape that winds in the middle similar to the letter “S.” There are places here though where you can drive karts more similar to the competition karts as you’re talking about but usually have an age limit and require drivers to sign a waiver. Hope this helps a bit!

    • @MidwestBoom
      @MidwestBoom 9 місяців тому

      We have the go carts that you're talking about. But they're usually not at an amusement park. These are for families. Could you imagine 7 year olds going 40 miles an hour on go carts? not a good idea 😂. They have professional level goal cards, but you need to seek them out at and pay for each ride these are normally unlitmed

    • @toyoracer33

    I had what I would call an extreme marathon on AF one. It was an amazing day. Yet, I still preferred Iron Gwazi because of the death roll (very back seat for that one to have maximum impact) and first drop (ditto), where I found AF's drop to be average, especially for an RMC. Still a great drop, but not outstanding, world class, unforgettable etc etc. I'd marathon ArieForce over our own DC Rivals any day of the week, yet I prefer Rival's first drop. But that's about all I prefer on Rivals.
    I give AF a 9.25/10 and IG a 9.75. If IG was a bit longer it would have been a perfect 10 without any doubt.

    Been here twice, This place made a huge mistake. Great coaster but that 18 mil was needed in other areas of this ugly park. I dont remember seeing Hotels near by either, i had to drive 5 miles to get there which is another reason why putting a expensive coaster there was such a dumb move since it can't support a high attendance nearby anyways. Six flags had parks like this without accommodation help in the past and they all failed.

    Arie Force 1 looks like a horrible investment and it shows why parks will no long build enthusiast focused coasters anymore. No matter how good the ride is. If they were going to spend that much money they might as well have done a B&M

      @marcusmcgraw3519 9 місяців тому +9

      Attendance tripled in its first year, so hard to call it a bad investment in itself. It may have just been a bit too grand scale and they will have to surely add another complimentary coaster for it to pay dividends long run

      What are you talking about? This is gonna sell tickets for 20 years. It doesn't have to make its money back in the first year. When they built the zipping pimpin they sold over a million dollars in tickets the first year, and it only costs $1 to ride.

      @@CanobieCoaster I can say that with the merger taking place, it’s likely that there will be constant investments to be seen. The park should focus on introducing prototypes and testing them out like how Fiesta Texas does.
