Hey guys!
My mannequin upload on foiling dos and don’ts was such a big hit, I figured I’d do another mannequin video focusing on the hairline and money piece.

I figure a money piece straight down the center is easier so I’d show you one way to go about doing a side piece.
Hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Looking good Kristi! Congrats on the new salon. Hopefully you'll give us a tour.
Thank you! Still working on trying to figure out opening my own salon but in the meantime I’m happy here at this location, happy to see you!
Thanks for talking the time to share your knowledge Kristi! You are bomb as usual!! 😍
Omg I’d love to be one of your mannequins. Nice hair always 😂
Oh thank you! Let me tell you those mannequins are frustrating tho! 😂😂
Thank you so much for your in depth tutorials! You have no idea how helpful you are to a baby stylist like me that is still learning. Your first mannequin video is actually how I found your channel & I haven’t stopped watching since! You are my favorite educator, keep being amazing 🤍🫶🏻
Oh thank you so much! Comments like these definitely keep me going!
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial! You are such a great teacher!!
LOVE your techniques! I’ve learned so much from you as always but the one thing I’ve run with is thinner is better for highLights. It lifts cleaner! Those mannequin eyes tho lol
I agree! I typically do finer sections but those damn mannequins is hard when it’s sewn so dense together
Love ur videos
Thank you! I really appreciated the zoomed in and detailed explanation of applying the lightener. my q is- how are you able to feather without incomplete saturation? I have a mental block on this or something. Middle of foil lifts cleanly, feathered portion always creates a brassy orangey transition for me. I am quite stumped about how to be both blended and yet saturated for clean lift. It feels like a paradox! 😅😂 Thank you again!!!
Oh yeah! I feel like that’s the thing about balayage, is that the transition area is always warm. Do you use foils? Even tho I’m feathering, I’m still feathering in with saturation. The feathering will obviously soften that area but I still press down kinda soft.
I do use foils. It’s gotten better but was hella brassy for a while. So it’s like the shape is a feather and comes to little points but the amount of coverage is still saturated. I’ll keep trying :-) thank you for your reply! Your channel is amazing
Great tutorial thank you so much 💕
Love it! ❤
Thank you I im from Argentina
it seems the harder I try not to get bleed marks the more I create
I understand! Don’t mix your bleach too runny and of bleach tends to swell, don’t apply all the way up the foil. Give it room to expand
Great tutorial babe ❤️
Thank you! Finally uploaded lol been too busy to do anything 🤦🏼♀️
Will this method work for a client who wants a money piece but their part varies? Some clients like to do both parts a middle and side.
Yes , especially starting from the center out to the sides, you’ll make sure you have full coverage around the whole hairline. If they want it stronger, you could do slices back on either sides behind the first few weaves.
@@hairbykristijennings6648 ok great thank you so much. I love your videos by the way, super informative. I have trouble with placement ALOT so I’m still learning.
Maybe a dumb question… why do you fold the very END of the foil over your comb tail toward you instead of toward the scalp? 😅😅
😂😂🤷♀️ why do you fold it towards the scalp? I fold it toward the scalp when I need to but when I foil it this way it doesn’t matter…. We all just do it the way we do but I don’t go back through and push the foil up with the comb like I see people do.
I just had this type of highlighting done with a root shadow. I appreciate it because my hair is light, and at the top can come up white. This technique covers it beautifully and it works much better than trying to hide the white with a darker color and some powder. That can look dull. So happy and it came out so nice. 🎉thank you for the tutorial. You explained this so well , do amazingly beautiful work and are quite creative.
