I didn't even remember who the actors were.now i watched it after 24 long years in English version and I was mesmerized by the beauty of the story and the chemistry between leon and matilda they showed.since then I have been watching it frequently. I had the least imagination that it was such a big hit and leon is such a popular star, and the girl with the spine chilling performance was Natalie Portman!

This was a lot like mine too, in a much more larger scaled complex of course but I was beaten, my mother and brother were not killed but not safe, and the man I thought was my father figure wanted me, sometimes forced me to dance naked, stand with my arms, spray me with shaving cream like he did with the bottle of water- so I see this song and movie as a way out, Matilda (small me, I am a grown adult now, over 30) she needs me to be strong and take care of life (the plant in the movie is all that is saved, I see it representing myself, life). And she needs you- that is the inner child who must be strong, walk away from the past and grow with love and compassion no matter how sick and dark it was..... I can't heal for anyone else this time, I tried that.... now this is for Matilda.
