Feels like shit I'd do in Madden, but it makes a lot of sense to me for some reason. Hooker doesn't run like a damn Runningback like Jalen Hurts did for Steichen this year. Hooker seems like the most Ballard move to make if he really wanted to lose his job. Being a good GM means actually taking big risk/rewards at picking a QB in the draft, one thing which Ballard has never put himself in a position for. Instead of signing Mike White to be that veteran guy in the QB room I would rather keep Foles. Foles has had more experience in the NFL and one season with the Colts under his belt. Around the same price or even cheaper than signing Mike White as well
I know this opinion is somewhat against convention but I do think letting Reich go was the right choice and that the Panthers will have buyers remorse.
@@enthusiastofcute totally agree with Saturday being a massive “WTF.” I grew up during the Bills SB-losing run, so I’m low-key rooting for Reich. I don’t think we can evaluate him at all based on last year in Indy. That season was just dreadful. Hope they turn it around.
Quite surprised you'd have Indy taking Richardson at number 4. He's quite raw and given Indy's tendency to go for older, more established QBs in recent history, it makes me wonder if they'll be capable of giving Richardson the development/coaching he needs. Figured the Colts would choose the "safer" pick of Levis. But your rationale makes sense. It'll be interesting wherever Richardson goes.
@@t4d0W Ballard loves athletes. Woods, Pierce, and Cross were all 9.8+ RAS guys. I'm sure he'd be on board with an athlete like Richardson, especially if Steichan wants him
You are & it's stupid to put him anywhere in the 1st he's done nothing & actively held the gators team back at least josh Allen showed HE COULD do it before his garbage final year
Your Anthony Richardson description for his fit with the Colts was chef's kiss. I just got so much confirmation bias because I've been saying the same things
@@johnhendrix28 watch the tape, his accuracy issues fall purely on mechanics. He has touch in his throws and when he gets his feet set his ball placement is good and I've seen him make elite accuracy passes, legit throwing guys open from ball placement alone. That completion % is also low because of the offense he was in. His weapons just weren't very good, they rarely got separation and when they did they had drop issues. Richardson is much farther along than his stats give credit for.
I think most colts fans know that our roster is farther away from competing than this. Our O-line couldn’t block and our receivers can’t get any separation. Not to mention none of these qbs other than young are even worthy of a top 4 pick
The problem with getting Anthony Richardson is that he does not appear ready to start, especially not on a team like the Colts. He would need someone to play behind for a year but I don't know who the Colts can get where that would work out. I think the smartest move would be to trade with the bears and get bryce young or cj stroud.
Ballard would EASILY green light getting a back up QB who has experience starting games and playing well in structure. Trading up IMO isn't worth as there are more holes to fill on to the roster especially if they want to not only play 2nd fiddle to the Jags, but ultimately beat them as they keep getting better on offense.
could you do a video about how nfl teams restructure contract. would provide some insight into how the financials work like you did talking about a Tee Higgins trade. Love the work !!
The main blame starts with Ryan Grigson not building an O line. I realize there were not many strong options at QB1 in the drafts following Luck's retirement; however, Ballard never fully addressed the position but learned a valuable lesson. From Atlanta giving up on Matt Ryan and Wentz never returning to form after injury, you leave those guys on the wire. Go Colts. This comment is a year after your video and 2024 looks a bit brighter.
I’m thinking the best option is Cj. I mean he’s confident and mature. He comes from the same cloth as Fields. Both hard nosed kids that are not going to give up on a play. He’s accurate too.
Dude I fucking love your knowledge of the game and the work you put into these videos (this series is fire but all your videos are very high quality) much respect man!
Richardson is an absolutely gifted athlete, but the Colts need a starting QB. In my opinion, Stroud is the #1 QB in this draft. Young is 2nd, Levis is 3rd. Richardson needs a lot of work at the position. He reminds of Vince Young, an incredible athlete with questions about his ability to translate his game to the next level. If you do take Richardson, you need a solid veteran presence that can start this year (Derek Carr, Gardner Minshew etc.). I also wouldn’t sleep on Hendon Hooker. He’s not the ideal prospect given his age and injury history, but he might be worth a look if Stroud/Young/Levis aren’t available.
If Colts draft Richardson, I’ll stop watching the Colts. The guy is not a winner and was pretty awful last year outside of his Utah game (1st game of season) and highlight reel of 70 yard runs and 60 yard bombs. Immature, can’t read a defense, relies on legs too much, inconsistent and inaccurate as hell - he’s bottom 5 in the SEC in almost every passing category… without saying “combine”, explain to me how that is a first round QB?
why would Parris Campbell ever do that lol Parris, if you’re reading this, some team is probably gonna offer something around a 2 year / 18-20 million dollar deal, take that!
Absolutely love every move here. A few things I would tweak and also a few things I fear: -We need to cut Kenny and get out from under the contract. I love the guy but it didn’t seem like he wanted to be here at the end of the year last year. He also can’t cover a good slot WR and he can’t play outside -I am AFRAID that both Nelson and Leonard are never going to live up to the fat contracts we gave them. Both are fantastic players and are on HOF tracks so far but they play at two non impact positions on the field. A guard and an off ball LB are not the difference makers on the KC or Phillys of the NFL. They both deserve another year but I’m VERY worried especially about Leonard and his health. -I know Okereke may just be too expensive to keep but as of right now he’s the only LB we have that can cover the pass. Speed and Franklin both stuff the run very well but Okereke can take the RB or TE so I would love to see if we can’t maybe keep him pending us cutting Kenny. -I also LOVE the AR15 pick. He has easily the highest ceiling of the class and pairing him with Steichen is a dream come true. All in all great video my man!
I don't understand letting Foles walk to pick up White. In my mind, if Richardson goes down you're toast anyway. The team is already rebuilding. Foles has won a Super bowl and has experience as a starter for years. I'd want him in the room over White. Sure he'd suck if he played but I want to focus on development.
I love alot of what you did, but Yannick is not worth an extension. If you contextualize his 10 sacks last year, like 6 of them were weird gimme plays, not to mention his horrible run defense. I’d personally let him go and play a young guy instead.
Richardson to the panthers at 9. Hell I don’t care if they trade up to 1, TAKE RICHARDSON. As a panthers fan I don’t want to hear any situation that doesn’t lead to Anthony Richardson on the panthers this fall
So, this video was simply a trick to monetize your ridiculously off-base mock draft . . . I don't like that sort of thing, I think I will make sure I don't have you recommended tome anymore.
Why didn't you bring back Ashton Dulin Ashton Dulin is one hell of an wide receivers he should be brought back too you need a WR4 guy none of these college guy are better than Ashton Dulin anyway I'm happy you're not the GM
I can't see Ballard ever drafting Reed. Ballard has a noticeable trend in the kind of WRs he drafts. They're tall, physical, and have a very high RAS. Reed just doesn't fit that mold.
I don't really see Ballard drafting a project QB when he's on the hot seat. Richardson's an incredible athlete but a 53% completion rate is really bad and he needs a lot of polish. If I was a GM I would much rather bet my career on Young or Stroud.
I think something that would be helpful when hearing NFL comparisons is to get a ceiling comparison and a realistic comparison - I feel like draft projections always want to talk about what a guy could be. Just one time I want to hear a draft analyst say "idk this guy is probably just a depth piece but those are valuable too"
It would be easier to plug Anthony Richardson in and use as a running threat qb. With Taylor at rb and the oline hopefully bouncing back they could have a nasty run heavy offense with Richardson at qb.
The way they retooled with the 2012 draft they could certainly do it again in 2023. You guys had a QB in Jacoby Brissett. But no point going into all that.
I would really like to see you do a Collab with ThatFranchiseGuy. Both of you guys have strong opinions about certain players, some of them you agree on and some of them you definitely don’t. I’d like to see if both of you think the other one has a point or if you just have to agree to disagree.
I honestly think that the Colts will also keep Rodney McCleod as well. He played very well last year and despite his age I think Ballard keeps him another year. He may not sign, but I think the offer will be extended
I’m just saying, you can feel what you’d like, but Pat bringing you on first thing to bury you and make you kiss the ring infront of his much larger audience was pretty gross. You just lost ur dad, ur trying to fund another dad’s funeral, that’s your side, his side is that he didn’t like a tweet. Last show of his I’ll watch, he’s become what he hates. Being brought into the TV network’s office used to be the scariest thing in the industry, now it’s getting run thru on pat’s show and he doesn’t see it.
Only place you can hear someone be referred to as "thick" with "great hips and feet" and not immediately think they were talking about something far more risque lol
Say what you want about Ballard, but he can identify LB talent better than anyone in the league. If a LBer has freakishly long arms, Ballard is drafting them. 😂
I don’t know how i feel about stevenson in the third, i don’t think he drops that far in my opinion. It’s a fantastic corner class depth wise so i can see them grabbing a corner at that spot, but Stevenson is flying up my board so i’m not sure about his availability there.
richardson is boom or bust for Ballard if they go that direction. With how impatient irsay has become i doubt richardson would be able to progress fast enough for ballard to keep his job.

I’d hate to see someone else’s kid become a victim to obesity, alcoholism, and crime just because their favorite UA-camr can’t control his drinking urges. Thank you for your time and consideration, Brett.
Sorry about the issues your son is facing. I see you are having issues coping and are looking for a scapegoat as you need someone/something to blame. I hope you are able to gain some clarity on the situation and return here at some point to recant the ignorance you just shared in blaming Brett for your son's personal choices.
@@joehebert789 I have no issues with my coping and don’t need a scapegoat. He is no son of mine anymore. I don’t want my family around thugs and refuse to ever let any of their kind into my life. I just wanted Brett to know that kids are very impressionable and his out of control drinking has affected the lives of his viewers. You sound like Brett’s personal nut licker. Maybe once you get your mouth of his balls, you’ll be able to think clearly for once in your life.
LOL gave up a free ride to Fresno State to be a full time gang banger because he had to keep watching Brett break down sail concepts. Cute story but no way your young son develops that kinda taste for whiskey unless he was in an environment of ineptitude, hardship and failure.
Instead of signing Mike White to be that veteran guy in the QB room I would rather keep Foles. Foles has had more experience in the NFL and one season with the Colts under his belt. Around the same price or even cheaper than signing Mike White as well
Brissett
I know this opinion is somewhat against convention but I do think letting Reich go was the right choice and that the Panthers will have buyers remorse.
Don't be afraid to go against convention, so many people nowadays just go along to get along even if they don't believe it!
Firing Reich was fine, hiring Saturday after was mind boggling
@@enthusiastofcute totally agree with Saturday being a massive “WTF.” I grew up during the Bills SB-losing run, so I’m low-key rooting for Reich. I don’t think we can evaluate him at all based on last year in Indy. That season was just dreadful. Hope they turn it around.
@@enthusiastofcuteshameless tanking
Nah, you’re absolutely right. Frank needed to go after the ‘21-‘22 season when we failed to get to the playoffs after the Jags loss in Week 18.
If Ballard has his way and Levis interviews well, he's probably the Colts guy on draft day (barring a trade up situation).
@@t4d0W Ballard loves athletes. Woods, Pierce, and Cross were all 9.8+ RAS guys. I'm sure he'd be on board with an athlete like Richardson, especially if Steichan wants him
If Ryan retires that opens up a significantly more cap space.
All my friends said I was stupid for having Richardson going to the colts at 4 now I have this to rub in their faces 😂😂
It's viable, wouldn't be the move I made, but he needs to sit for his rookie year and learn. He's incredibly raw.
@@MikePSU yep, and that’s part of why I think despite what Brett said, Mike White starts year 1 week 1 in this scenario
He’s not gonna be a colt watch he’s to unfinished colts want someone that can contribute AKA Young or Stroud
Agreed . . .
You are & it's stupid to put him anywhere in the 1st he's done nothing & actively held the gators team back at least josh Allen showed HE COULD do it before his garbage final year
As a colts fan, if we don’t take young i’d rather trade back and get maybe 2 1sts and take Hendon Hooker
Absolutely not. Hendon Hooker is one of the most overrated prospects in a while, please stop this narrative that he could ever be a franchise QB
Will Levis QB1 incoming
Your Anthony Richardson description for his fit with the Colts was chef's kiss. I just got so much confirmation bias because I've been saying the same things
And Tyrique Stevenson??? Goated off-season for the Colts if this happens irl
Ewww bro no! Richardson throws 50% bro the colts are not dumb
Lol they traded Gilmore
I think most colts fans know that our roster is farther away from competing than this. Our O-line couldn’t block and our receivers can’t get any separation. Not to mention none of these qbs other than young are even worthy of a top 4 pick
small note for these, I think you should put the player's name up when you put the contract details on screen
Wow, somebody actually talking about the colts for once? Thank God!
Absolutely loving the rebuild videos!!! Would love to see a panthers one!
The problem with getting Anthony Richardson is that he does not appear ready to start, especially not on a team like the Colts. He would need someone to play behind for a year but I don't know who the Colts can get where that would work out. I think the smartest move would be to trade with the bears and get bryce young or cj stroud.
I think Mike White as a Bridge QB is good enough (which is what Brett Had the Colts do here) to just be a dude playing the QB for a rebuilding team.
Nice to hear a Jayden Reed mention! I was really intrigued by him when watching Kenneth Walker last year, Reed kept popping up with plays constantly.
Will you do a bear's amendment To your panthers video? Please @brettkollmann
could you do a video about how nfl teams restructure contract. would provide some insight into how the financials work like you did talking about a Tee Higgins trade.
What you said: Signing Mike White.
What I heard: Signing my wife.
Wow Bret..taking care of yourself I see.
Still love your content...lol.
Brett in on🔥 right now! Gotta love draft season
Most Colts fans are going to be pissed if we end up with anyone other than Young or Stroud but I agree we should swing for the fences with AR
Fucking THRILLED you're having a cracking at mocking my hawks - can't wait!
Another great video, Brett! Do the Seahawks next!
I’m thinking the best option is Cj. I mean he’s confident and mature. He comes from the same cloth as Fields. Both hard nosed kids that are not going to give up on a play. He’s accurate too.
Doubt CJ will be available at 4. Bryce and Stroud should go to Houston and Carolina respectively.
Dude I fucking love your knowledge of the game and the work you put into these videos (this series is fire but all your videos are very high quality) much respect man!
I know they don’t have a Top 10 pick, but what I would give for a Commanders rebuild
12:55 why is the cap hit $3.5M? Is the second year only $0.5M guaranteed?
No chance colts draft richardson at 4 lol
Well i was wrong and im glad i was
Richardson is an absolutely gifted athlete, but the Colts need a starting QB.
Immature, can’t read a defense, relies on legs too much, inconsistent and inaccurate as hell - he’s bottom 5 in the SEC in almost every passing category… without saying “combine”, explain to me how that is a first round QB?
why would Parris Campbell ever do that lol
Parris, if you’re reading this, some team is probably gonna offer something around a 2 year / 18-20 million dollar deal, take that!
Absolutely love every move here. A few things I would tweak and also a few things I fear:
-We need to cut Kenny and get out from under the contract. I love the guy but it didn’t seem like he wanted to be here at the end of the year last year. He also can’t cover a good slot WR and he can’t play outside
-I am AFRAID that both Nelson and Leonard are never going to live up to the fat contracts we gave them.
Brett Kollmann So you're ok with Richardson starting from day 1 with White and Ellinger as the veteran back ups, another lost year for the Colts?
I love alot of what you did, but Yannick is not worth an extension. If you contextualize his 10 sacks last year, like 6 of them were weird gimme plays, not to mention his horrible run defense. I’d personally let him go and play a young guy instead.
Maybe one of the additional fixes to the Colts would be to upgrade their food service and travel (see NFLPA team grades).
Anthony Richardson. Lol. You serious? Seriously? Do you hate the colts?
Why didn't you bring back Ashton Dulin Ashton Dulin is one hell of an wide receivers he should be brought back too you need a WR4 guy none of these college guy are better than Ashton Dulin anyway
I'm happy you're not the GM
Just one time I want to hear a draft analyst say "idk this guy is probably just a depth piece but those are valuable too"
The colts are in need of a safety?!?! Blackmon, Thomas, Cross …..Um huh?
It would be easier to plug Anthony Richardson in and use as a running threat qb. With Taylor at rb and the oline hopefully bouncing back they could have a nasty run heavy offense with Richardson at qb.
The way they retooled with the 2012 draft they could certainly do it again in 2023. You guys had a QB in Jacoby Brissett. But no point going into all that.
Love these videos! Enjoy every minute of them
Still think that Richardson will be a tremendous bust, but apart from that, another great video
I would really like to see you do a Collab with ThatFranchiseGuy. Both of you guys have strong opinions about certain players, some of them you agree on and some of them you definitely don’t. I’d like to see if both of you think the other one has a point or if you just have to agree to disagree.
I honestly think JL Skinner could be a 3rd or 4th round safety whom I want on the Raiders
Can Richardson start right away or should the Colts say bring in a Minshew or some backup type and colts taking safety over edge is stupid
Only place you can hear someone be referred to as "thick" with "great hips and feet" and not immediately think they were talking about something far more risque lol
I’m glad JL is finally getting love it sucks he got injured him and battle are my two favorite safeties in the class.
Say what you want about Ballard, but he can identify LB talent better than anyone in the league. If a LBer has freakishly long arms, Ballard is drafting them. 😂
Why can your Texans trade up for their rebuild but not the Colts?😂😂
Everyone keeps sleeping on 2020 rivers, he actually played rlly good considering his age
Colts fan here. Great analysis and roster improvement! Absolutely love the draft picks!
If the Colts keep Parris Campbell I’ll be looking for a new team to root for. That guy is a freaking bum.
Braden Smith is good, but I disagree on Ryan Kelly tbh. I think he's only going to decline at this point
I'm sure the intro was amazing but the way you were waving that drink around was a minute of pure anxiety. Great vid as always tho
nice work brett just heads up you left washington pick that cots get from carson wentz trade
Big colts fan here. Looking forward to some optimism
36:28 jesus fucking christ that is an insane punt return
If you want the rookie to start day one, why are you picking Richardson?
Dude these rebuild mock draft videos are so good. Do you plan on doing the rams?
