My Aunt is from Sri Lanka and when I first visited her family with her there I couldn’t eat for like 2 days, I felt so bad lol, my European ass was not made for 104f humid July weather at first

@@LisaFW lmao I get that. My extended family lives in the Dominican Republic. My grandmother would take us to smaller towns and villages to visit people and there’s no air conditioning. Everyone ate outside. Now, I was born and raised in Arizona. I can take some heat. But those first two weeks on the island with no AC and trying to politely eat meals with people in the heat had me sick as hell for 2 weeks 😩 It literally took me two weeks to acclimate to the Caribbean weather and no AC. 🤣🤣
It’s considered rude there to skip meals or refuse food. That humidity was something else. But it was a jumble of things that made me sick those first couple weeks trying to adjust (water 😖) but the eating part was hard. I don’t know how people do it. By choice I mean.

It has been a while since I've laughed this hard but her saying that Thailand has "Michelin-star street food" as she's sitting in a mall eating in a tourist spot got me lmfao
Ikr? Real street food means going on a street with actual people. I saw a video and there basically a street food market but for Chantal, the streets were REALLY narrow. Her and Salah would take up the whole width of the street. If she wants actual street food, she'll need to be seen in public with people. It's 50/50 if Chantal will do it imo. But if she thinks this tourist food court is street food...well, we all knew she was an idiot, but her idiocy seems to get greater with each video I see via reaction channels like this one. On top of that, a commenter on youtube said she's not eating real pad thai? That what she's eating is a westernized version. Actual pad thai apparently isn't that orange color.
I was listening to the replay while in my building’s laundry room. (On max volume so I could hear it over the exhaust fan or whatever it is.) My neighbor entered with a basket just in time to hear “Ma’am, GET your fingers out of the food, you’ve been wiping your SWEAT all day!” 🤣😂

Going to Thailand and ordering Pad Thai is like going to China and ordering Orange Chicken. They’re not authentic dishes typically eaten by the locals, but ones that cater to and draw in westerners because of the sweetness and simplicity of it. Funny that they’re favorites of FB and ALR! 😂
I don't think it's like ordering orange chicken. Pad Thai was at least invented and popularized in Thailand and is readily available. There are Thai people who eat it. Whereas you could order "orange chicken" in China and, if you were served anything, it wouldn't be recognizable at all. You'd maybe get tangerine chicken if you were lucky but besides having oranges and chicken, they're nothing alike.
@@erin9868 I was meaning to say that orange chicken isn’t even a thing in China, it was created in America. And authentic Pad Thai isn’t sweet like the Americanized version. A lot of foreign dishes are amended to make them with more sugar in the recipe, since westerners tend to prefer their food sweeter than other countries.

Here in the Netherlands we have certain 'Dutch Chinese' dishes, food you'd never see in China because we've totally Westernized it.
@@BabzV it's not like it's a choice, it's put in processed and even restaurant food, which is why I don't eat out often. Asian countries do use sugar but not overly sweetened. Which is why when I make food, I use small amounts of sugar when needed. Which is typically Asian dishes or red sauce used for pasta dishes (to cut down on acid). I wouldn't even say Westerners, because European countries are considered Westerners, and they don't use much sugar

She holds the plate up because the way the bench is attached to the table and she is right up against table. She can't bend over like you normally would to bring the fork from the plate on the table, so she picks it up. It's not the first time we will see this if she can't move her chair away

On marijuana, for awhile it was still illegal on the federal level when US states were legalizing it. But from what I understand, FEDERAL prosecutions of marijuana were _mostly_ things they tacked on to other drug charges and they didn't go after people purely because of marijuana. Again... _mostly._ So yeah, paper vs practice is absolutely a thing lol.
Yes it's still illegal federally, but was taken from a Schedule 1 to a Schedule 3; making it significantly less consequential when having it. States, of course, have their rights to say if it's highly criminal or, depending on the amount, is just a ticketable offense. You can still be arrested for DUI as it is a mind altering drug like alcohol. You still have to be under a certain amount to legally carry and you can't cross State or Country lines with ANY amount.
