My problem with the ROG Ally is that when you lower the wattage to anything sensible that you would use in a daily scenario (18-20 W) it doesn't perform any better than a Steam Deck. In fact it ends up using on average 6-7 Watts more to achieve similar performance to the Steam Deck. And then the battery life is still worse. I was doing some tests yesterday - DMC 5 at 900p on the Ally vs 800p on the SD OLED (same quality settings and FPS), and within 10 minutes the Ally lost 11% battery while the SD lost only 4%.
Ive had the ally for almost 3 weeks now. Got a crap open box deal as a gift from family and i decided to gamble more dissappointment and exchange for a new unit. I'm so so so so glad i did because i love it. Nothing is perfect but my only windows handheld experience has been a win 600. I was fully aware of that devices limitations but operating it after day 2 was a nightmare and i returned it with no regrets. I am glad i kept the ally. Big quality control issues on asus with bunk units going out but best buy has you covered there. I don't have the sim card issue yet but am kind of just waiting. Can list a multitude of issues on all the windows handhelds out there so not any device is perfect but i am happy with what im able to do on my ally.
Bro should I go Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 ryzen 5 6600h RTX 3050 16GB/512gb or ASUS TUF f15 i5 11400h ryzen 5 RTX 3050 16gb? My requirements- 1. Not gaming all time 2. Editing and studying 3. Good battery backup
I have one on delivery and it's taking forever. I can't wait to play Starcraft or Warcraft Dota on it. Does anyone have any recommendations on emulators and anything else you use?

Dude calling out speakers of the *ALLY* as decent like, are you good bro ?
They are nothing special really. Depends on where you're coming from.
@@substance90 Try to make a circuit work with bare minimum knowledge, well really depends on *really like really where you are from*
He probably meant relative to other handhelds in all honesty.
