I remember going to watch this with my 2 children who were 4 and 6 at the time. I recall it every time I go past there. I didn’t realise it was televised for Blue Peter.
I remember going on a school trip around the station in its working days, and then later on watching it go down....how it changed the landscape of St. Neots
I remember seeing Little Barford power station from the train when I used to go to Peterborough with my mum, along with the Peterborough b rickworks it was one if the big landmarks on the journey. I also remember the demolition being on Blue Peter, amazing to think it was so long ago. thanks for sharing it.
i remember watching this Blue Peter at the time I think, always seems a bit sad watching these huge structures being blown up. So many of these landmarks are now gone, there used to be both Grain and Kingsnorth power stations near where I live and Tilbury over the river but watched as they were gradually demolished until the chimneys were finally blown up, did go to see Kingsnorth go.

Yeah I was about 10 when I watched this, I had recorded this and kept the tape so thought I'd convert it and upload it for all to see
Just watched this again. And yes I still see the towers in my mind’s eye when I pass here (to avoid the Black Cat roundabout)

As a teenager we used to swim in the "Culvert" (A concrete channel where the warm water from the cooling towers used to be drained). Happy Days :-)
Anyone know when in '89 this was demolished?
Is there any videos of the steam locos running here?
It was actually just inside Bedfordshire
I remember the day :)
Some of Batman 1989 filmed there
