To do this, you need to measure one measurement - head circumference. We measure with a centimeter above the eyebrows and at the most protruding point of the back of the head, above the ears. Do not tighten the centimeter, but do not relax either.
Like any clothing, hats also have different models and styles. You can not only knit them.
The other day I saw a neighbor wearing a new pillbox hat and really liked it. The style is not like everyone else, it looks feminine and elegant. I was so inspired that I decided to sew one for myself. Moreover, there is nothing complicated about it.
First we make a pattern. We draw a rectangle (crown), the length of which is equal to half the circumference of the head 56:2 = 28 cm. The height is 13-14 cm. But you can make it lower, then the ears will be open.
The radius of the bottom is measured using the formula - 1/2 OG: pi. The value of pi is a mathematical constant equal to 3.14. 28:3.14=9 cm.
Select the fabric and cut it out with seam allowances. The fabric should be dense and hold its shape well. Drape and fur are ideal. If the fabric is soft, then it is better to iron the dublerin.
I sewed the crown and smoothed the seams. The resulting circle was divided into 4 equal parts and marked. I did the same on the bottom.
I aligned the marks and stitched in a circle. Both parts matched perfectly thanks to precise calculations.
From a drape of a different color, I cut out a strip of the same length, but less wide. I stitched it up the same way. This will be a lapel.
I put the side in the hat and stitched along the edge.
I sewed exactly the same part of the hat from lining fabric.
I connected the lining and the main part with the right sides facing inward, stitched it, leaving room for turning it inside out. I turned the hat inside out and sewed up the hole by hand.
I smoothed out the seams.
To decorate, I cut out 4 flowers of different sizes from drape and combined them into one.
I sewed the flower to the hat.
You can sew a strip of mesh or tulle to this model.
