    For those of you asking about these ramps...DO NOT BUY ! They are 12k lb capacity floor ramps, but one of them cracked just seconds before I rolled under my Cherokee XJ to drop the oil. My Jeep I believe is about 4k lbs. I made my own solid core ramps with 2 x 10, 36" long boards stacked three high or you could go four high if you wish, screwed together and tapered the ends, they will not fail guaranteed. Be safe.

    Can you put 5 quarts in instead of the 4.6 will it be okay? I also add a little oil to the filter before screwing it on don't want your pump to run dry when you start car!

    I used a 1/2 ratchet with a 17mm socket but noticed you can get to much torque and possibly damage the drain plug so next time I’ll use a 3/8 ratchet with 17mm

    The Tuscon 2007 requires me to remove the front 4 bolts (12 mm) that secure the plastic rock guard. Then I can bend the rock guard down enough the access the oil filter. The oil drain plug is a 17mm.

    I use clean oil on the oil filter gasket. I don't want that dirty oil on there. It's full of dirt and grime. And fill it to the full mark according to the manual as all engines consume a little oil between oil changes.

  • @davidhain2996
    @davidhain2996 Рік тому +4

    it's better to coat new oil filter gasket with fresh rather than old oil to prevent any debris causing improper fit. also, taking oil cap off before draining can help drain faster by relieving any vacuum effect in the engine. overall, well done.

    • @censored7881
      @censored7881 6 місяців тому

      What kind of debris do you find in your used oil? My goodness, it would have to be a big chunk of metal to cause a problem, in which case changing the oil is a waste of time to begin with. Good point about the oil cap, though pulling the dipstick out just a bit achieves the same thing.

  • @28johnpetrie
    @28johnpetrie 3 роки тому +1

    Wear latex gloves or at least one on your hand. Better to remove oil filter first that way if you drop it in the pan there is no splash.

  • @Maximum1A
    @Maximum1A 4 місяці тому

    Unfortunately you didn’t provide critical detail of the Tucson oil change….you failed to mention the torque spec for the oil plug and the amount to tighten the oil filter whether to turn it a full 360 degrees after the gasket contacted the oil filter base or if 3/4 of a turn was enough.

  • @mikopaq
    @mikopaq Рік тому

    Should remove the oil cap before draining the oil pan just to be safe and it will allow the oil to drain better.
