Highly recommend them been using them for about 2 years and I have new cushion cups on their way, they have never died on me and I can easily go on a 4 hour one direction road trip stay a day or 2, and come back with them being used most the time and they still manage to have about 30% battery, not only that but they are excellent for watching videos and gaming, super comfortable also i can wear them all day and not get sore ears.
THANK YOU! I literally never comment on any youtube videos but this review was exactly what I wanted to know about these headphones. Ordering them today and can’t wait to try them out. Subscribing! You’re killing this, man 👍👍
I hate in ear earbuds. The wireless ones don't last and hurt my ear canal after a while, and the wired ones make me irrationally mad when they fall out. I'm excited for these to come in the mail tomorrow for some gym rat stuff, and great review!
Thanks for the thorough review! One question: do you think the audio quality of these headphones would be decent enough for watching TV while running on a treadmill at home? I'm particularly thinking about being able to clearly distinguish characters' voices from other sounds in a movie, etc. Dialogue played through my ancient (and deceased) Backbeat Fit 903+ earbuds/headset was destroyed by the sound of the treadmill, and I definitely like the idea of over-the-ear workout headphones for comfort reasons. (I have recently attempted to join the modern earbuds world...for example, I loved the audio quality of the Jabra Elite Active 65t earbuds I tried, but like with most noise-isolating earbuds, the tightness made my ears ache). Thanks for any extra insight!
That's a tough one. I didn't listen to any movies while testing these so I don't know if the higher frequency sound of the treadmill belt in motion/motor will compete with dialogue which also happens to be at the higher end of the spectrum. I'm going to have to play with this when I have a moment!
Yep. Adidas has some interesting looking headphones they just released and I’ve been wanting to get my hands on those Project Rock headphones as well, but these 6100s are the best specifically for gym use I’ve tried so far.
bill hayes Still think they’re a solid choice for over/on-ear headphones for gym specific use but with one caveat... loudness. I found them loud enough for me, but apparently, some folk are struggling with this. Again, fine for me but knowing other folks are having issues in this area, I’d definitely say that you should check them out in a store if you’re able and give them a listen to make sure they hit hard enough for you. ;)
This was super helpful. Thanks a lot. Last week I bought the Plantronic Backbeat 500. They broke within two days of use. I’m looking to replace them with another over ear workout headphones. A bit hesitant to buy the same brand. How is the build quality?
Build quality seems solid but only time will tell. My main concern for long term use would be that bungee holding up to loosening an retightening over and over. Not that there's any indicator that it will fail.
love them but wish they were louder. its just not loud enough even though it says on the box they are 😒 my 500's were louder n not as expensive 🤷🏻♂️ so in other words i love everything about plantronics cuz they really last and take it from a person that sweats a LOT. my only complaint is that they are not not not loud enough....
Loudness is kind of subjective. For me, I feel like it gets just loud enough before I start to get uncomfortable. I can definitely see where others would like it a couple notches louder though.
Thanks for the info Tshaka...I really want to like or rather love these headphones and give them a go but I do like my tunes when I am gyming loud and hard for the motivational aspects of it all. Maybe I'll just pick them up on AMZ now since they are on sale and give them a go. Any tips or tricks you can give me to get the best fro them, please let me know.
I’d say, if loud and hard is a major requirement, then these may be hit or miss. If you want to loudest possible audio from these, my experience is that you’ll have to have the music playing locally from your device and not a stream. And be sure they’re sitting properly on your head since they have angled drivers.
man i do boxing and used vmoda crossfade that supposedly military grade lol sweat took them rust in one of speakers and now extension part inside detached looking for something better been thinking about those
I just purchased them and currently testing them out. Have been using them exclusively for the past 3-4 days. I'm pretty impressed. You can find them on sale right now at a pretty good discount. I'd might recommend them at the original $180 price point, so if you can find them on sale for $70-100 like I did, I think it's a no brainer. I'm still testing them out though. BTW awesome review @tshaka . You helped me figure out what I needed to know about these.
Hey man! Just want to ask if these headphones are bass-heavy, to the point of being to muffled with the mids and highs in sound signature? That's the only negative thing I've been seeing about it online. I really need an over-ear headphones for working out because earbuds and iems are just too uncomfortable for me
Honestly, it's been a while so I don't vividly recall the sound signature but if they were muddy or muffled in any way, I'd have included that in the overall review. Backbeat's sound signature does tend to be bass forward, but not to the point of being muddy.
It was "ok." Not as good as some. Definitely not as bad as others. Because I was using these in places which were generally noisy, that's hard for many headsets.
I believe the microphone quality is definitely just as good as other headphones. I want to say the Bluetooth quality also depends on the phone you’re using them with. I’ve been told that people can’t really tell the difference between my AirPods and the Backbeat Fit 6100. I use an iPhone 8 Plus.
@Tshaka Armstrong, from reading several reviews on the Backbeat FIT 6100's I understand the volume on these are not great and are much too quiet. Did you experience any of these to comment on?
There is definitely a difference based on the source of your tracks. Streaming tracks were noticeably softer than high resolution files. I test with streamed tracks and high bit rate .flac files and the .flac files were fine to me. Streamed tracks were hit and miss but overall softer.
To add another layer, both sources were loud enough for me in the gym, connected to an Apple Watch. And that’s with weights clanking around and loud gym music playing over the house speakers. Audition is so subjective, it’s really hard to tell how music will work from person to person.

How are they?
I came here to watch the deadlifts and squats. Excellent form.
I bought these headphones based on your review. Your review was good.
Thank you. How are you liking them so far?
Definitely a solid pair of headphones! I enjoy them myself!
Keep the bar always close to you when deadlifting. It should be in contact with you at all time. Great review i will buy these when in special.
Really appreciate this bro! Thanks for the good work
Any time!

Thanks for watching Ben!
How are the headphones?
@@Jordan-bj2fw they broke after a few weeks. Couldn't reconnect them to anything or power them on after trying to charge them
I’m on my second pair now. The first pair just died after about 30 days. Let’s hope the replacement works better.
Sorry to hear that.
Good review bro👍
Thank you
Salute bro good review 😊

The review help a bunch. Thanks!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!

@@TshakaArmstrong Look forward to what you find out; thanks again!
@@davidsylvian457 they work perfectly for movies, maybe the sound isn't that loud but the voices are very clear.
Yeah
AYY I've been searching for a good workout headphone thanks!

Any change in thoughts after a month in...they look promising..ty

Thanks for the sub!
Fantastic review thank you I’m considering buying now any 2 year uodate
I have always loved Plantronics brand. Great innovation.
They look ideal for bench work. Any problems with charging as seems a common fault? Thanks and smashed sub :-)

Great review! How did they hold up against sweat over time?
I sweat a bunch :L
theyre ipx5 which is sweat and water proof of course excluding fully submerging them so sweat and wiping with a cloth shld be no problem

Are you still rocking with these headphones?
Unfortunately, I haven't been in a gym for a couple months due to COVID lockdowns. I do still have them though.

How’s the durability on it? All the headphones I’ve purchased always ends with the part that folds breaking.
Hey Bro, is your head big? I tried many headphones, but they always squeeze my head and ears.
Yes. I have to buy extra large hats. These don't feel like they're squeezing.
Can u peek the touch pattern off ?
does it have a physical or touch mute button for the mic?
How do you find the microphone quality? Good for calls?
It was "ok." Not as good as some. Definitely not as bad as others. Because I was using these in places which were generally noisy, that's hard for many headsets.

does it play muics loud tho ?
Are the ear cups washable
Do you still use them? How do you clean them?
I’m not currently using them but to clean most ear pads, I’d just use water and a mild detergent. Alcohol will dry them out prematurely.
What gym headphones do you use now
Powerbeats Pro. My favorites so far.
Is the sound quality good with these?
Depends on what you're using them for. For the gym, absolutely. Passive listening? Sure thing.
