- I’ve always been a huge fan of violin virtuosity pieces and I grew up listening to many great violinists like Itzhak Perlman among others. Here is one of the most exciting scherzo arranged for clarinet, Bazzini La ronde des lutins opus 25 ! A real big challenge to imitate violin technique, staccato, harmonics, pizzicati but let’s do our best ! 😍✨👍🏻 if you want to play this piece only in clarinet quartet, I would like also to recommend the very good arrangement of Filippo Forcone you can find for free on his website, bravo Filippo !

@@ronaldreuben3278 Hi, you can do it using a video editor as finalcut and premiere. If you want to use a smartphone powerdirector would be a good choice.

À chaque fois que je t'écoute Nicolas, j'en reste pantois....
Je pratique le Boléro de Ravel ces temps-cis, en m'enregistrant et en m'écoutant, et en comparant avec ta prestation à l'orchestre national de France, que l'on peut trouver içi sur UA-cam. Parfois, je joue en même temps que toi durant la portion clarinette, au début. Beaucoup de plaisir! Ma technique passe par un passage obligé d'amélioration, pour rendre le Boléro aussi propre et beau que les pros... Je ne suis pas encore là, maisça avance!
Ça fait 2 ans que je joue de la clarinette. J'ai 46 ans. Je viens du Québec. Je joue sur Yamaha 550AL, Vandoren 5RV Lyre profil 88, Vandoren 3.0.

Love it!! Very unusual and interesting composition. This would have been a perfect piece for the old Tom and Jerry cartoons. I can just see the chase scenes, Tom sneaking up on Jerry, then the insuing chase scene again. I play trumpet. I wish I could master the precision double tonguing you display. Loved the video. Another winner!

Nice job! How do you record multiple tracks without using headphones?
Record the audio first. Then play along with it in a second take with video and take the audio out of the video clip. Then you can put them together in any video software you choose and line them up.

I don´t know why, but I found myself addicted to Nicolas´s videos thanx to the curfew. I like his creativity, playfulness, amazing and clear technique. Not to mention he is editing, directing oh no and styling all the videos. In a way these videos are not only createive but very sexy, as the player himself! OMG incredible. The "flautandi" are fantastic. Your upper register is just great. I'm not a clarinetplayer but my grandfather is one and my dad is a professional clarinettist. And my granddad his mother is from the Boeykensfamily. So yes Walter Boeykens is family. And we used to do concerts togheter. Him a soloist in the Rossini variations, and in Artie Shaw. Togheter improvising in the jungle swing part. So I'm used to some good clarinet playing. But your really in the A class league !!

What exercises you play on staccato? Wonderful video!
This may be too difficult to answer here, but could you share what notes and fingerings you are using that use the throat G# key? I’ve seen you open that key on many of your videos for leaps into the altissimo, but I’m not sure which notes you are playing due to the speed. I thought I knew most of the good fingerings on the clarinet but this one is puzzling to me.
Hahaha, I would be really happy to share that, I have many unconventional fingerings for the high register ;-)) an lot of them using key n9, next time we see each other or a future video ?

Ce que j'aimerais savoir, étant moi même clarinettiste (mais beaucoup moins talentueux :D), c'est combien de temps il vous faut pour jouer aussi parfaitement un tel morceau ? quel travail en amont avant d'enregistrer ?
En tout cas merci pour tout ce que vous faites, vous êtes, pour moi en tout cas, source d'inspiration et de motivation (et j'imagine que c'est le cas pour de nombreux autres clarinettistes !).
