You're so right & it's so sad 😢. I'm a retired vet but 2 weeks ago I was trying to help a vet that has been staying with her sister for 4 months but was told she has to find a place to live. The crisis hotline for vets said they can't help her unless the homeless shelters have no room or AFTER she's already been put out. This is in Hampton, Virginia!!! How SICKENING is that. This is not a young female veteran but a 67 (almost 68) yr old female vet with congestive heart failure & chronic anemia. I was shocked at the less than $600 she receives a month for PTSD & around $800 for social security. She qualifies for affordable housing but every where I took her has waiting lists for days, but illegal immigrants can immediately be placed in hotels while American citizens are facing homelessness instead of being put in a hotel to HELP THEM get out of the cold! If I didn't have children & grandchildren in this country I declare I'd become a citizen elsewhere. Lord help our nation 🙏🏽😢🪖✝️☝🏽

I'm from Liberia i couldn't even come to America as a child refugee. I had to go thru the process of coming here after my parents filed to have me here. I spent 15 years until i can become a Citizen. Working and paying taxes but couldn't get financial aid to attend college. Now they're just handing it out. Thats not right or fair.

I have a degree in associate in arts and a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary entrepreneurship studies. My parents came in the 1980’s and my father has ZERO sympathy for the migrants. We live in Florida and when me and my dad go to the hope depot we see some migrants advertising for their services. I work two jobs and as a very hardworking man I have no sympathy for people that want handouts by the way my father is kru and my mother is grebo.

The problem with these meetings is that the elected officials aren’t required to respond to questions. This need to change! We the people elected them. We pay their salaries with our tax money. They should be required to answer questions from the public. By this not being a requirement, everyone talking is just wasting their time and energy and that’s why the mayor and city council are smirking and ignoring your grievances. They know this is all for show and nothing of substance will be done because they know they don’t represent us and don’t care about what we think..

The second speaker Mr. Sims is from Rodgers Park a Chicago neighborhood on the extreme northeast side of the city, and my old neighborhood. Mr. Sims is also a victim harassed by judges and police with no understanding why, yet he does make valid points and calls out his alderwoman for her lack of action in twenty plus years in office. I argue that the majority of these people did not vote based on skin color alone. They voted for people that shared similar skin color assuming these people shared, valued and would pursue their concerns and interests.

It’s crazy I sat and watched these citizens be angry (which they have the full right to be angry) and I was waiting for them to make actual points but it kept winding back around to reparations 😂 without actually having any good points about what’s happening politically in their city. Here’s and example for you between 1 and 1.25 million European people were enslaved and sold to North Africa and the Ottoman Empire between the 15th and 19th centuries. Not to mention the over 300,000 white slaves that were shipped to America between the 17th and 18th centuries. We just don’t make it our entire identity
